Bushmaster Tri-Motor serial #1 (N7501V), touted as “the only Bushmaster still flying” is available for sale. The listing states (in part):

“Hot Rod” of Provost Jets Offered For Sale, “Flies Great”

A Rolls Royce Viper-powered BAC Jet Provost Mk IV has hit the market.

The Mk IV is “considered to be the hot rod of Provost jets.” This particular machine (S/N XR-701) was reportedly assigned to the British College of Air Warfare and was a member of the MACAWS flight demonstration team. It reportedly “flies great” and includes “complete logs since new including military logs.”

Additional features reportedly include a Garmin radio and PS Engineering intercom and “very original” interior with intact seats and chutes (seats have been deactivated but are believed to be complete).

The aircraft is said to have amassed a TTIS of 5,940 hrs. It is currently based in Sugar Land, Texas and is currently available for bidding. Click here to check out the complete listing on eBay.

Kermit Weeks Shares Updated, Lengthened Video of Curtiss Wright CW-19R Maiden Flight

Kermit Weeks has posted an “updated and lengthened” video showing the arrival and first flight of his Curtiss Wright CW-19R back in 2013/14.

The CW-19 began life as a a civil utility aircraft, performing its maiden flight in 1935. The 19R was a militarized two-seat variant with a Wright J6-7 engine and weapons mountings. The type saw limited use.

Kermit’s example was acquired in 2013 and restored, performing its first post-restoration flight in February 2014. The newly released video captures Kermit flying the machine performing some high flying, a couple of landings and take-offs, and a set of very fast low passes. Click below to check it out.

A full-scale, Warner-powered Fokker Dr.1 reproduction is available for sale. The listing states:

First flight August 2017 (100 year anniversary). 165 H.P. Warner, all aluminum cowing, brakes, tail wheel and tail skid, Spandau machine guns, starter, satin finish Poly Fiber Aerothane, interior placards in German, rudder bar, control stick with blip switch and machine gun levers. Eight years building. 400 pictures available. Beautiful flying airplane; electric start; aerobatic box spars.

Additional Partnership Announced as Restoration of Spitfire AA810 Set to Begin

Following their December announcement of a partnership with Kennet Aviation, The Spitfire AA810 Project has reportedly contracted Airframe Assemblies Ltd to assist with the restoration of Spitfire PR.IV AA810.

As previously reported, AA810 was flown by Alastair “Sandy” Gunn of 1 PRU RAF and departed RAF Wick in Scotland for a photo reconnaissance mission to Trondheim, Norway on March 5, 1942. During the flight, Gunn was forced to bail out after being shot down by two Messerschmitts of Jagdgruppe Losigkeit near Surnadal. Gunn became a POW and took part in The Great Escape in 1944, but sadly was recaptured and executed.

The remains of the Spitfire were recovered in July, with “some 70% of the aircraft” remaining intact. It will now receive a full restoration to airworthy status and will reportedly incorporate a significant amount of original material. Special Hobby to Release New Tool Short Sunderland Model Kit

Special Hobby has announced the upcoming release of their long awaited new tool Short Sunderland Mk V model kit in 1/72 scale.

Details about the upcoming kit (SH72162) are lacking, although the company describes it as “a brand new model, yes just ours – no cooperation with anyone else.” The box art depicts SZ566/Z, which was flown by Vaclav Bergman in Singapore during the Korea War. Liveries to be represented in the kit have not been reported.

The Sunderland is currently slated for release in April.

1960 De Havilland CS-2F Tracker Offered For Sale

A 1960 De Havilland CS-2F Tracker has hit the market. The listing states (in part):

This aircraft was the second last of 100 S2 Trackers built in Canada by DeHavilland for Grumman. Serial number 098/1599 served on the Majestic-class HMCS Bonaventure aircraft carrier for a period of time before it was decommissioned and sold to the Saskatchewan Government where it was reconfigured to fight forest fires. It served the Saskatchewan Government for many years until retired in the late 1990’s. This aircraft is for static purposes and to my knowledge can not be made airworthy in Canada. There are no logs available for the aircraft and does not come with engines or props. It is sold as is. Pick up only. Airplane was successfully towed backward over 250 miles to its current location. Cleveland brakes removed. Comes with tow bar and various faring panels
