Kermit Weeks Releases Second Part of “Kermie Cam” B-25 Tour [Video]

After releasing part 1 last week Fantasy of Flight owner Kermit Weeks has returned for the second installment of his Kermie Cam B-25 tour, which explores the whole aircraft interior, from tail to cockpit.

As previously reported, the machine (S/N 43-28059) was originally delivered in 1944 and was used for training during WW2 and for some time after the war ended. In the 1950s it was used for proficiency flying and transport duties. Following military service, it operated as a tanker fitted with a 1000 gallon tank and passed through the hands of several owners before being acquired by Weeks and restored.

Kermit Weeks’ B-25 Mitchell Takes Center Stage in Kermie Cam Video

Fantasy of Flight owner Kermit Weeks has released his latest “Kermie Cam” video, this time focusing on his B-25J Mitchell “Apache Princess.”

The machine (S/N 43-28059) was originally delivered in 1944 and was used for training during WW2 and for some time after the war ended. In the 1950s it was used for proficiency flying and transport duties. Following military service, it operated as a tanker fitted with a 1000 gallon tank and passed through the hands of several owners before being acquired by Weeks and restored.

The new video is part one of the series which includes a walk around and interior tour of the aircraft. Click below to check it out.

Stinson L-1 Takes Center Stage in Latest Kermie Cam Video

The latest installment of Kermit Weeks’ “Kermie Cam” series focuses on Fantasy of Flight’s 1941 Stinson L-1.

This particular example was delivered to the Army Air Corps in December 1941 and initially served with 112th Observation Squadron at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina before moving on to different locations on the East Coast. It was later used for rescue with the 11th Air Force in Alaska. Following its military service the aircraft was acquired by Paul Mantz and used as a camera platform in a number of movie productions including The Great Waldo Pepper. Weeks acquired the machine from the Movieland Air Collection in 1981 and used it to tow banners. It was damaged during Hurricane Andrew in 1992 and has since been completely restored.

The video will be released in two parts. This newly released first part includes an overview of a problem sorted out with the engine, a walk around, a tour of the cockpit and start up. Click below to check it out, along with a bonus video of its first post-restoration flight in 2013.

Kermit Weeks Shares Video Update on Sikorsky S-38 Project

For his latest installment of Kermit Cam, Fantasy of Flight owner Kermit Weeks visits Langer Aviation in Minnesota to check up on his Sikorsky S-38 project.

Langer is working hard to complete the example of the machine, which was introduced in 1928 and became Sikorsky’s first widely produced amphibious flying boat. Weeks hopes that the aircraft will be ready in time for involvement in what he describes as “a really big IMAX film project about Martin and Osa Johnson, that will shoot in Africa, and feature both my Sikorsky S-39 and this S-38.”

Kermit Weeks Films Tour of Blakey Engine Service Workshop [Video]

For his latest installment of “Kermie Cam,” Fantasy of Flight owner Kermit Weeks details his April 2019 visit with Jeff Blakey of Blakey Engine Service in Roanoke, Texas. Kermit states:

“Jeff and I go way way back, and through the years, he’s done a number of engines for quite a few of my vintage aircraft. He’s a great craftsman, one of the last of a dwindling breed, and he’s also one hell of a guy. Come on along with me and visit with Jeff, and check out his shop.”

Kermit Weeks Documents Tour of Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum

For the latest installment of his “Kermie Cam” series, Fantasy of Flight owner Kermit Weeks paid a visit to the late Paul Allen’s Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum in Washington State for a tour of the facility.

The video captures Weeks exploring the impressive collection of military aircraft and vehicles with Executive Director Adrian Hunt, and also discussing the status of the museum since Allen’s passing last year.

The visit will be chronicled in two videos, the first of which can be seen below.

Kermit Weeks Shares Part 2 of His VIP Short Sunderland Tour [Video]

Kermit Weeks has shared part 2 of a “full VIP” tour of his Short Sunderland flying boat.

As reported with part 1 of the series, this particular machine was acquired by Weeks in 1993 from Edward Hulton. After five months of work in England he flew the machine across the Atlantic, directly to the Oshkosh Fly-In in Wisconsin with stops in Ireland, Iceland, and Canada. It remained at Oshkosh until 1994, when Fantasy of Flight’s seaplane ramp was completed. Two years later, the machine flew to Sarasota and participated in the Olympic torch relay to Atlanta.

The newly released second installment focuses on the flight deck and cockpit while also offering some “history, fun stories and plenty of information.” Click below to check it out.

Kermit Weeks Provides “Full VIP” Tour of Short Sunderland [Video]

For the latest installment of his Kermie Cam series, Fantasy of Flight’s Kermit Weeks has filmed a “full VIP walk around” of his Short Sunderland flying boat.

This particular example was acquired by Weeks in 1993 from Edward Hulton. After five months of work in England he flew the machine across the Atlantic, directly to the Oshkosh Fly-In in Wisconsin with stops in Ireland, Iceland, and Canada. New Kermie Cam Video Features AT-6 Flight, Voice-Over and Cockpit Tour

For his latest installment of “Kermie Cam,” Fantasy of Flight owner Kermit Weeks has released a new version of his North American AT-6 flight while providing a full review of the machine’s cockpit and a voice-over of the flight, which includes a couple of rolls, 4 point roll and snap rolls.

This particular machine is a AT-6D painted in the colors of the Womens Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) and featuring their mascot “Fifinella” on the cowling.

New Kermie Cam Video Offers Uncut Pilot’s Eye View of Albatros D.Va Flight

Following on his recent Curtiss Pusher video, Fantasy of Flight owner Kermit Weeks has released another new “Uncut Kermie Cam” video capturing a full flight in his Albatros D.Va reproduction from the pilot’s perspective.

The reproduction was built by The Vintage Aviator, Ltd. in New Zealand and sports an original Mercedes engine as well as other original equipment. It appears in the colors of Ltn. Adolf Schreder of Jasta 17. Schreder scored one victory before being killed in action on March 17, 1918 while flying a Pfalz D.IIIa.
