New Book Details the Service History of the Concorde in Photographs

New from The History Press and author Robbie Shaw is Concorde: A Collection in Photographs which is packed with stunning color photographs of Concorde aircraft throughout the aircraft’s service history.

Compiled by Robbie Shaw, ex air traffic controller and lifetime aviation photographer and enthusiast, it covers both British and Air France Concorde aircraft and highlights the impressive collaboration between the two nations that resulted in such an important and beloved aircraft. Kotare Developing 1/32 Defiant Mk.I With Exclusive Perks For Pre-Orders

Kotare has announced the development of a Boulton Paul Defiant Mk.I in 1/32 scale. The kit (K32510) will be an exclusive, limited edition release with only 5,000 being produced. Each will by hand numbered by Kotare Models owner Mark Robson.

Those who pre-order will become a member of “Project Defiant” — an exclusive group with access to a private Facebook page, online forum, and email network. Members will also have the chance to meet Kotare staff in person at major model shows across the UK, Australia, the USA, and New Zealand to share ideas and connect with others. Regular updates will cover the project’s design progress, with opportunities to engage directly with kit designer Nick Moore and the team. Project Defiant members can contribute to major design decisions, share aircraft knowledge, and help decide on color schemes. Pre-orders also include a bonus: a set of 3D‑printed resin exhausts and a print of Darryl Legg’s beautiful box art.

Be in the draw to build a second test shot! From the first 500 people who make an order, we will randomly draw 20 names. Those modellers will be offered the chance to build and critique a second test shot of the kitset, to augment the process we at Kotare do.

A 1961 Champ 7FC Tri-Traveler has been spotted for sale.

According to the listing, this is a rare (492 built) tricycle-gear, two-seat tandem classic with bright yellow 2006–2008 Stewart System fabric and Ceconite, new aluminum wing spars, upgraded Cleveland hydraulic brakes, refreshed interior (seats, carpet, insulation, STC’d shoulder harness), dual controls, basic instruments and panel space for an iPad/GPS. It is sold without engine or prop (ready for a C-85, C-90, or O-200 installation), with no evident structural or gear damage despite a prior insurance total. It has minor and easily patchable fabric cuts plus a broken windshield from handling, undamaged wings/struts/engine mount/firewall, complete logs from 1965 onward (plus 337s, W&B), a current annual through March 2026, and comes with airworthiness certificate, bill of sale, keys, and 30 days free storage.

HobbyBoss to Release New Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8 Model Kit

HobbyBoss will reportedly release their new 1/48 Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8 model kit this month.

Fw 190A-8 was a late-war, single-seat German fighter-bomber variant of the famous “Würger” that became the most numerous of all Fw 190 subtypes. It was introduced in 1944 and used extensively for Reich air defense and ground-attack duties. Powered by the BMW 801 radial engine and fitted in many aircraft with a nitrous-oxide (GM‑1 or similar C3-injection) emergency boost system, it offered strong low- to medium-altitude performance, making it effective against Allied bombers below about 7,000 m. Typical armament combined two 13 mm MG 131 machine guns in the cowling with four 20 mm MG 151/20 cannons in the wings, with some sub-variants adding 30 mm MK 108 cannon and underwing bombs or rockets for heavy bomber interception and close air support. As an evolution of the A-7, the A-8 incorporated minor airframe and systems changes while retaining the wide-track undercarriage and rugged construction that made the Fw 190 series popular with Luftwaffe pilots.

Coming Soon: An Illustrated History of American Airpower in the Vietnam War

Coming soon from Pen & Sword is U.S. Aviation and Naval Warfare in the Vietnam War, author David Doyle’s illustrated history highlighting the men and aircraft that comprised American airpower during the Vietnam War.

During the Vietnam war, the US Air Force, Navy, Marines and the Army flew a variety of fixed wing aircraft against innumerable targets in Vietnam, occasionally engaging North Vietnamese Migs, but more often facing the threat of Surface to Air Missiles (SAM) or antiaircraft fire. In over 5 million missions during the war, US forces lost over 2,000 aircraft. This photo essay looks at the men and aircraft that comprised American airpower during the war. Among the aircraft shown are the A-1 Skyraider, A-7 Corsair, B-52, C-130, C-141, F-105, F-4 Phantom, and OV-1 Mohawk. The US Navy controlled the waters off Vietnam, employing not only aircraft carriers to support the air war, but also surface vessels ranging from the battleship USS New Jersey down to destroyers, which supported ground forces with heavy naval gunfire.

Revell to Release Me 262 A-1a / U4 Kit in 1/32 Scale

Revell will soon release a Messerschmitt Me 262 A-1a / U4 model kit in 1/32 scale.

The product (037499090) is based on what the company describes as the “proven” Me 262 model, but it has been updated with newly developed parts to represent the U4’s nose and 50 mm cannon. Additional features will include a finely crafted cockpit, detailed Jumo engines and “an authentic chassis.” As a Level 5 kit it includes 220 individual parts.

The kit is currently slated for release in April.

1946 Ercoupe 415-C Project For Sale: “Complete Airframe”

A 1946 Ercoupe 415-C complete airframe project has been spotted for sale.

The airframe (about 3,321 hours total time) has a polished fuselage and tail, silver polyfiber wings, red accents, updated panel and interior, modern breakers, two-place intercom, rudder pedals installed, and complete logs back to the original 1946 airworthiness signoff. It is being sold without engine, prop, avionics, or EFIS. The machine has hard-landing damage including wrinkling around the main gear attach points and a slightly twisted and pushed-forward nose gear with some bent engine-mount tubes. The firewall, cowling, wing panels, ailerons, doors, and windows are reported undamaged. It remains in annual until September 2026 and includes airworthiness certificate, bill of sale, paperwork, keys, airbox and exhaust for your engine (with a suggested upgrade to an O-200).
