P-51D “Rosalie” For Sale With Newly Reduced Price

1944 North American P-51D “Rosalie” (s/n 44-75009 / N51TC) is available for sale with a newly reduced price.

The airframe reportedly has 1903 TTSN while the Packard -1650-7 engine (w/ Rolls Royce 720 Heads & Banks) has 115 hrs SMOH (25 hrs since top overhaul by Roush Aviation). The machine is fitted with a Hamilton Standard 24D50 w/ Paddle Blades (35 hrs since overhaul / A.D. coupled with 12/17) and includes an avionics package, new oil and coolant lines (2018) and P-63 wheels and brakes.

Revell to Release New Beaufighter Night Fighter Model Kit

In August, Revell is slated to release a new night fighter version of the Bristol Beaufighter in 1/48 scale.

The Beaufighter IF was one of the first aircraft to be equipped with radar for night hunting. Hidden in their own bomber stream, they waited for the rear-facing radar to come up attacking enemy night fighters, only to pounce on them.

The “Level 5” kit (03854) is reportedly a updated version of the new tool Beaufighter (03943) released in 2018 and will reportedly include new parts, a cockpit with consoles and instrument panel, separate rudder, V-tail with separate elevators, detailed Hercules engines and separate ailerons and flaps.

“Beautifully Restored” 1952 Beechcraft Expeditor 3MN Offered For Sale

A “beautifully restored” 1952 Beechcraft Expeditor 3MN (S/N CA-104 / N7185) has hit the market.

Originally built as a 3NM Navigation Trainer for the Royal Canadian Air Force, this beautiful Beech-18 was returned to SNB-5 configuration during a 2000-01 restoration. Sold by the RCAF in the late 70’s, it subsequently went through a number of owners but has never been a freighter.

The airframe reportedly has 6970 hrs TTSN (628.9 Hrs since restoration by General Aviation Services), while the two Pratt & Whitney R985 AN-1 engines have 628.9 hrs SMOH by Covington (11/04/98). The aircraft reportedly includes an avionics package, Shadin Digiflo-L fuel flow, co-pilot instruments, 286 gallons of fuel (giving an approximate seven hours endurance with a maximum take-off weight of 9300 lbs), authentic 1950’s USMC paint scheme and a comfortable six-place leather executive interior featuring a couch, writing table, headphone jacks and power outlets.

The machine was featured in the May/June 2016 issue of Warbirds Digest as well as the 2011 Ghosts calendar (Nov.) and was even the subject of a die-cast model. It is located in Texas and is currently being offered for US$199,500. Click here to check out the complete listing.

A 1956 DeHavilland DHC-2 Mk1 Beaver (originally constructed as military model L20/U6A) has hit the market. The listing states (in part):

EDO 77-4050 amphib floats (big wheels, heavy duty hydraulics) customized by Kenmore (STC SA3680NM). Only 6000 TTAF, 1060 SMOH, 40 SPOH (2017 O/H). Garmin 430, King KX155 COM, audible landing gear alert system and much more (see STC list). Tip tanks (115 Imp Gals total capacity). Never operated commercially. 5730lbs GW increase STC. Dora Wings Releases New Tool P-43 Lancer Model Kit

Dora Wings has released their new tool P-43 Lancer model kit in 1/48 scale.

It appears that the kit (DW48029) contains plastic and photo-etched parts as well as marking options for four machines, including YP-43 (1941), P-43A S/N 40-2920 of 55 Pursuit Group, P-43A S/N 41-31496 and P-43A S/N 41-6721.

Flight Replicas To Release New Bf-109Z “Zwilling” For FSX, P3D

Flight Replicas has announced the upcoming release of a new Messerschmitt Bf-109Z “Zwilling” (“Twin”) for FSX and all versions of P3D.

An idea by Messerschmitt to create a ‘heavy destroyer’ by using two Bf-109F airframes, the actual aircraft prototype was built but never flown, being destroyed in its hangar by an Allied bombing raid.

The developer states that it has been “a very interesting exercise to try and recreate the concept as realistically as possible, from estimating a cockpit layout, to understanding possible flight dynamics by examining in general terms how the F-82 Twin Mustang differed performance-wise from the standard P-51D.”

A final release date has not yet been announced, although the aircraft is said to be “coming soon.” Click below to check out additional images.

HK Models To Release 1/32 Avro Lancaster B Mk.1 Nose Art Kit

HK Models has announced the upcoming release of a new Avro Lancaster B Mk.1 Nose Art Kit in 1/32 scale.

The kit (01E033) reportedly contains 171 parts and measures 218mm in length, 68.2mm wide and 120mm tall. It appears that four marking options are offered representing W4783/AR-G of 460 Squadron, RF128/QB-V of 424 Squadron, and two representations of R5868: OL-Q of 83 Squadron RAF and PO-S 467 Squadron RAAF. HK has previously released full Lancaster Mk.I and Lancaster B Mk.III “Dambuster” kits, both in 1/32 scale.

Microsoft’s New Flight Simulator Gets Release Date, New Launch Trailer [Video]

Microsoft’s highly anticipated new Flight Simulator will be released on August 18, 2020. A new launch trailer has also been released (which can be seen below) as well as a number of additional details.

The simulator will reportedly be available for Windows 10 and Xbox Game Pass for PC and will come in three versions: Standard Edition, Deluxe Edition and Premium Deluxe Edition:

The Microsoft Flight Simulator Standard Edition ($59.99 USD) includes 20 highly detailed planes with unique flight models and 30 hand-crafted airports. The Standard Edition will be available on day one with Xbox Game Pass for PC (Beta). The Deluxe Edition ($89.99 USD) includes everything from Microsoft Flight Simulator’s standard edition plus 5 additional highly accurate planes with unique flight models and 5 additional handcrafted international airports. The Premium Deluxe Edition ($119.99 USD) includes everything from Microsoft Flight Simulator Standard Edition plus 10 additional highly accurate planes with unique flight models and 10 additional handcrafted international airports.

The simulator will also available as a retail disc version at European stores via Aerosoft. As previously reported, the new installment of Flight Simulator is described as offering highly detailed and stunning aircraft ranging from light planes to wide-body jets which operate in “an incredibly realistic world.” Flight plans and flying will reportedly be available anywhere on the planet with a focus on “the authenticity of flying and visually stunning environments.”

Special Hobby to Release SB2A-4 Buccaneer Model Kit

Special Hobby has announced the upcoming release of a Brewster SB2A-4 Buccaneer model kit in 1/72 scale.

The offering (SH72303) will reportedly boast “resin parts and etches” as well as marking options for three aircraft serving with the US Marines representing both the two and three-color schemes. One fictious livery is also included depicting a Buccaneer as it might have appeared had it been acquired by the Dutch.
