IBG to Release New Jagdgeschwader 301 Fw 190D-9 Kit in 2026

With 2026 fast approaching, IBG Models has taken a moment to announce some of the releases planned for the new year. Among them is a Fw 190D-9 model kit (72543) in 1/72 scale.

At the moment details are limited, but the new offering is apparently based on the new tool Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9 kit (72531 / eBay Product Link) released in 2022, but with markings representing Jagdgeschwader 301. It will reportedly be available at the very end of January.

Arming the Luftwaffe: Machine Guns, Cannon and Aerial Artillery that Powered German Air Combat, 1939–1945

Soon to be released from Pen and Sword History and author Tim Heath is German Aircraft Weaponry: Machine Guns, Cannon and Aerial Artillery in Luftwaffe Service, 1939-1945. The book examines the use of the humble rifle calibre machine gun as an aircraft weapon along with the efforts to develop suitable cannon with greater destructive power for aircraft use, the advances made during the inter-war years and the various barrelled weaponry either used or proposed by the German Luftwaffe in the Second World War.

This work encompasses not only the technical and operational appraisals of the various weapons used by the German Luftwaffe aircrews, which include some of Germany’s leading surviving fighter aces of the Second World War, but also the armourers tasked with their day-to-day maintenance, the instructors and technicians on the ground, and those who found themselves at the receiving end of their firepower both in the air and on the ground. This unique work encompasses many new and previously unpublished testimonies as told by those who were there in their own words and for the first time.

The 256 page hardcover book is currently available for pre-order with release slated for March 30.

E-flite Releases “Most Detailed, Best Handling, and Highest Performance Fw 190A Model Yet”

E-flite has released their first ever Focke-Wulf RC model, described as “the most detailed, best handling, and highest performance Fw 190A model yet!”

As previously reported, the 1.5m offering reportedly includes a removable drop tank, molded-in panel lines and guns; a factory-installed, high-power 6S-compatible brushless motor with large diameter 3-blade prop and simulated engine fan; Fits 6S batteries from 3200-7000mAh to deliver level flight top speeds up to 80+ MPH and nearly unlimited vertical performance; retractable main gear with scale-like length and shock-absorbing struts for operation from a variety of surfaces including grass.

The model is available in PNP with Smart Technology (EFL01375) and BNF Basic with Smart Technology (EFL01350).

E-flite has announced the upcoming release of their first ever Focke-Wulf RC model, described as “the most detailed, best handling, and highest performance Fw 190A model yet!”

This first-ever E-flite® Focke-Wulf model is based on a full-scale replica once owned by the late Rudy Frasca. Painted with the wartime markings of Austrian Luftwaffe pilot Oskar Bosch, the replica has been flown in west coast airshows and at the National Air Races in Reno. The E-flite Fw 190A 1.5m stands apart from all other RC model versions by delivering superior Extra Scale details, functional features and performance in a larger size, while being easy to assemble, transport and store. It’s also equipped with a Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart ESC to deliver a warbird experience unlike any other!

The model will be available in three versions: PNP with Smart Technology, BNF Basic with Smart Technology and BNF Basic with Smart Combo. It appears that it will be available sometime in February.

Eduard Releases New Tool Fw 190A-6 Model Kit

Eduard has released its new tool Fw 190A-6 model kit in 1/48 scale.

The ProfiPACK edition kit (82148) reportedly includes Eduard plastic parts and decals, pre-painted photo-etched details, a painting mask and five marking options representing machines flown by Lt. Heinz-Günther Lück (1./JG 1), Oblt. Helmut Radtke (5./JG 54 / W. Nr. 550461), Günther Josten (1./JG 51), Fw. Walter Nietzsche (II./JG 300) and Hptm. Friedrich-Karl Müller (Stab./JG 300 / W. Nr. 550453).

Details are scarce, although the ProfiPACK edition offering (82148) reportedly includes five marking options representing aircraft from the Eastern as well as the Western Front.

A full scale, 2006 Focke Wulf Fw 190A (D-FWUB) has hit the market. The listing states (in part):

This is a Marcel Jurca 1:1 Scale built Focke Wulf featuring a 1380 P&W Twin radial engine producing 1180 HP. The AC has been built by a professionel Pilot over more than a decade and it has already starting flying ist test Programm. Over the last 3 years the AC underwent substantial improvements.

Eduard has released its New Generation ProfiPACK edition Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8/R2 model kit in 1/48 scale.

The kit (82145) reportedly includes Eduard sprues, pre-painted photoetched parts, a painting mask and Eduard decals with marking options for five aircraft. Liveries represent W. Nr. 682929 of 5./JG301 as well as aircraft flown by Adalbert Koch of 6./JG 300, Karl Spenst, 8./ JG 300, Gerhard Schröder of II.(Sturm)/JG 4 and Hans Weik of 10.(Sturm)/ JG 3.

Motion RC Releases New FlightLine 850mm Fw 190 D-9 Dora RC Model

Motion RC has announced the release of a new FlightLine 850mm (33″) Fw 190 D-9 Dora PNP RC model as part of their Pocket Warbird Series.

The model (FLW102P) comes with motor, ESC and servos pre-installed and is reportedly compatible with both 3S and 4S LiPo batteries without any modifications. Its list of features includes “beginner-friendly wing loading, upgrade-friendly components and layout, durable structural enhancements, skid-proof underside covering and screw-on one-piece wing.”

Eduard has announced the upcoming release of a “New Generation” ProfiPACK edition Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8/R2 model kit in 1/48 scale.

The kit (82145) reportedly includes Eduard sprues, pre-painted photoetched parts, a painting mask and Eduard decals with marking options for five aircraft. Preliminary images seen below suggest that the liveries will represent W. Nr. 680747 flown by Oblt. H. Weik of 10.(Sturm)/JG 3 and W. Nr. 682989 of 5./ JG 301, as well as aircraft flown by Karl Spenst, 8./ JG 300, Hptm. Gerhard Schröder of II.(Sturm)/JG 4 and Adalbert Koch of 6./JG 300.

The kit is currently slated for release in June.
