Polikarpov I-16 N30425 (S/N 2421645) has hit the market. The listing states (in part):

This aircraft was rebuilt in Russia by the original factory for the Alpine Fighter Collection in New Zealand. The Alpine Fighter Collection recovered the remains of 6 I-16. Currently based in Midland Texas. The aircraft will need overhaul of the installed engine. A second spare core engine is included.

Storch Fi 156 G-BPHZ, currently under restoration in the UK, has hit the market. The description states:

Under restoration at Retrotec with an original Argus engine. Post-war use with French (as F-BJOC) as an Argus engined MS 500 with all the evidence of German manufacturer’s specification, including side opening doors, and many other brackets and parts not always seen on MS 502 and 505. Later on BJOC was converted to MS 505, but the original MS 500 data plates is still affixed and is a war-time German design. Most minor components and assemblies (for example the undercarriage and control brackets) are German Fieseler 156 marked. Tail number 1827. Original rear gunner’s ring for MG 15.

AD-4 Skyraider With Only 148 Hrs Since Restoration Offered For Sale

Douglas AD-4 Skyraider F-AZHK (B/N 127002) has hit the market.

The machine has reportedly amassed only 148 hours since receiving an airframe restoration and overhaul of its Wright R3350 26WD engine. It is also touted as offering an avionics package and “excellent spares and support equipment.”

The aircraft wears the colors of French Air Force Squadron 1/20 Aures Nementcha during Algerian War (1961-1972). It is located in France, where it operates under French Historic Certification, and is currently being offered for $675,000. Click here to check out the complete listing.

Jack Bally’1/3 scale, manned B-17G reproduction (N413ME) has hit the market.

The Illinois-based machine was built over a 17-year period using 1/9 scale RC model aircraft plans and carries a single pilot. It is powered by four Hirth 4-cylinder 2-stroke engines, spans 34′ 7″ and contains more than 25,000 rivets. It has reportedly flown 55 hrs (most recently to EAA Airventure 2018) and is experimental certified.

A German WW2 Bachem Ba 349 Natter rocket-powered interceptor has hit the market. The product description states:

You are bidding on a full size Bachem Natter BA 349 – the first vertical take off/rocket fighter aircraft in the world! This one was discovered in the back of a hangar. Partially it looks restored, partially original, partially new. I am not an expert on this. Outstanding opportunity to purchase a great show plane for your hangar or your WWII museum! The price is as is and where is! You may inspect it any time! Present location South Germany.

The Natter was intended to launch vertically and conduct the majority of its flight via autopilot. Upon sighting Allied bombers, the pilot would aim the machine at the target and fire its nose-mounted rockets, after which it would return to the ground via parachute. Only one manned flight was attempted on March 1, 1945, which resulted in the death of the test pilot.

An item described as a “very rare original” Avro Lancaster mid upper gun turret has hit the market. The listing states:

Aluminium parts in good condition considering its age, sadly the perspex sections have been broken but enough left to make templates if required. Perfect for a turret restoration as the frame is in good condition and complete. Built by Nash and Thompson, I haven’t cleaned the manufacturers plate too much as it seems to have suffered worse from corrosion and I don’t want to damage it. It is quite large, approx 1.8m wide.

The last one of 12 L-15s, built Mar.8,1949 at Boeing Wichita, KS. This is the only airworthy example of the remaining 7. N4770C was awarded Grand Champion Warbird Post WW II, at Airventure 2017. I received the Gold Wrench Award for the Restoration. Included with the sale of 70C is a 2nd wrecked YL-15, S/N 47-423, lots of new old stock spare parts, the Restricted Aircraft Type Certificate (transferable) & approx 3000 digitized blueprints. Boeing’s last piston, prop, man carrying design. Built for observation, liaison, & forward air control. Family owned since Feb.1954. Be the next caretaker!

“Very Rare” Sepecat Jaguar T2 Cockpit Section Offered For Sale

The cockpit section of Sepecat Jaguar T2 XX140 has hit the market as a restoration project. The product description states:

Jaguar T-Bird cockpit sections are very rare. To our knowledge there are only two. This one and the one on display at Norwich Aircraft Museum.

We are now offering up the cockpit as a project cockpit as can be seen from the photos it needs some work. The cockpit is reasonably complete externally (see pics). It has a “new old stock” canopy all fitted to the fwd cockpit which on its own cost £5k. The nose cone is included. We can unbolt it at the bulkhead if required if the new owner required the intakes removing to make the unit more manageable, however we think the intakes really make it!
