Eduard to Release New WNF/Diana Bf 109G-10 Model Kit

Eduard has announced the upcoming release of a ProfiPACK edition Bf 109G-10 model kit in 1/48 scale.

The upcoming release (82161) is reportedly based on the new tool Bf 109G-6 kit (82111) released in 2016 and is focused on aircraft produced by Wiener Neustädter Flugzeugwerke/Diana. As the images below show, the kit will contain decals representing four aircraft from April-May, 1945.

As of this writing, it appears that a release date for the new WNF/Diana Bf 109 kit has not yet been announced.

Hangar 9 Announces Upcoming Release of 1/4 RC Fokker D.VII Model

Hangar 9 has announced the upcoming release of a 1/4 Fokker D.VII RC model.

The 87″ 30-60cc almost-ready-to-fly model (HAN2890) is described as “an accurate giant scale reproduction of Germany’s famed fighter even the most discerning modeler will appreciate.” It reportedly features lightweight, laser-cut balsa and plywood construction, two-piece lower wing panels and three-piece upper wing for easy transport and assembly, a detailed cockpit with a scale pilot and instrument details, scale engine and machine guns for authentic appearance, 8″ vintage scale wheels, shock-absorbing main landing gear and a sprung wooden tail skid.

The model is designed to accept a variety of 30cc to 60cc 2- or 4-stroke gas engines, or a brushless electric outrunner motor, and is said to include all hardware for the recommended power system options.

Special Hobby to Release New Tool Short Sunderland Model Kit

Special Hobby has announced the upcoming release of their long awaited new tool Short Sunderland Mk V model kit in 1/72 scale.

Details about the upcoming kit (SH72162) are lacking, although the company describes it as “a brand new model, yes just ours – no cooperation with anyone else.” The box art depicts SZ566/Z, which was flown by Vaclav Bergman in Singapore during the Korea War. Liveries to be represented in the kit have not been reported.

The Sunderland is currently slated for release in April.

New FlightLine P-51D 850mm RC Model Released

Motion RC has released a new FlightLine 850mm (33″) P-51D Mustang PNP RC model.

The offering is described as “re-imagined” to fit a beginner-friendly format with “accurate styling, gyro-readiness, low operating cost and high fun factor in an easily transportable size.” The model reportedly features a long plywood battery plate, reinforced motor firewall, shatter resistant two blade propeller, one-piece wing with carbon spar, servo horn protectors, plastic sheathed underside fuselage to resist scuffs during landing and balanced wing loading for precise handling and steady landing characteristics.

The FlightLine Mustang includes two different decal sets representing “The Enchantress”, flown by 2nd Lt William Saks of 457th Fighter Squadron, 506th Fighter Group and “Shanghai Lil'” flown by Ed Linfante of 462nd Fighter Squadron, 506th Fighter Group.

Airfix to Release New Quick Build D-Day Spitfire, P-51 Kits

Airfix has announced the upcoming release of new Spitfire (J6045) and P-51 (J6046) kits to coincide with the 75th anniversary of D-Day.

The kits snap together, eliminating the need for for glue or paint, and each includes a sticker sheet with a D-Day livery. Additional details, such as scale, remain a mystery.

Brickmania Releases 1/35 F-14 Tomcat LEGO Model Kit

Brickmania has released a new, limited edition 1/35 F-14 Tomcat LEGO model kit.

The offering (BKM1033) is based on the real-life VF-103 “Jolly Rogers” color scheme and reportedly includes 1,607 “new-condition” LEGO and BrickArms elements, a high-quality sticker sheet, and two pilot minifigures.

The model is described containing “an enormous number of cool features” including working landing gear, posable flaps / elevators, arrestor hook, a fully-detailed cockpit, functioning F-14 Tomcat wings, a display stand, two AIM-7 Sparrow and two AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles.

Eduard Releases New Tool Hawker Tempest Mk. V Series 2 Model Kit

Eduard has released their new tool Hawker Tempest Series 2 model kit in 1/48 scale.

The kit (82122) follows Eduard’s new tool Series 1 Tempest released in November and is offered as a ProfiPack edition with paint masks, pre-colored photo etched parts and Cartograf decals for six machines. The company also states that there are some improvements in the plastic frames.

Brickmania Releases 1/35 Ju87 G-2 Stuka LEGO Model Kit

Brickmania has released a new, limited edition 1/35 Ju87 G-2 Stuka LEGO model kit.

The offering (2221) represents the “tank buster” variant of the aircraft and includes 560 “new-condition” LEGO and BrickArms elements, a high-quality sticker sheet, and two German pilot minifigures.

The model is described as having been updated to include “key details seen on the real aircraft including longer wings, movable flaps, newly-designed canopy, and detailed cockpit.” Additional features reportedly include the type’s “less chunky” wheel covers, nose spiral, printed elements, engine exhaust pipes and two BrickArms short air-cooled barrels.

Airfix Announces Upcoming B-25B Mitchell Model Kit

Airfix has announced the upcoming release of a new B-25B Mitchell model kit in 1/72 scale.

The kit (A06020) is reportedly based on the new tool B-25C/D kit released last year, but will include “new decals and parts” for the B-25B, including “Hari Kari-er” which was one of the Doolittle raiders.

Airfix Releases New Mustang Mk IV Model Kit

Airfix has released a new P-51K / Mustang Mk. IV model kit in 1/48 scale.

The kit is reportedly based on the new tool P-51D released in 2017, but represents the British Mk IV with liveries representing KM272 “Dooleybird” of 19 Squadron and KH676 of 3 Squadron RAAF.
