Airfix Illustrates Wing Folding Feature on Upcoming Blackburn Buccaneer Kit

Airfix has released a new series of images offering a glimpse at the wing folding feature on its upcoming Blackburn Buccaneer S Mk.2 kit in 1/72 scale.

The kit (A06021) was reportedly designed to be “a highly accurate scale representation of this famous aircraft” which will include parts to model the aircraft with its wings extended for flight or raised for carrier stowage.

To illustrate this feature, Airfix designer Matt produced a quick sample build consisting of test frame components from the first plastic injection through the new mold. The resulting photos can be seen below.

Brickmania Releases New LEGO C-47 Skytrain Model Kit

Brickmania has released a new, limited edition 1/35 C-47 Skytrain LEGO model kit.

The offering (BKM2231) consists of 2,220 new-condition LEGO and Brickmania elements, a high-quality sticker sheet, printed elements and full-color building instructions. Additional features include brick-built invasion stripes, posable flaps and rudders, a detailed cockpit and radio room, a historically accurate radio antenna configuration, brick-built engine exhaust, new landing gear design, and a removable door to convert the model between paratrooper and cargo carrying missions.

First Look: Test Sprues For Airfix’s New Tool MiG-17F Fresco

Airfix has released a new series of images featuring test frames for their upcoming Mikoyan Gurevich MiG-17F model kit (A03091) in 1/72 scale.

The representation of the iconic cold war jet was reportedly produced utilizing scan data from a restored example of the type as well as research visits that allowed the team to check of specific details and capture many reference photos.

The newly released images show the first test frames for the upcoming kit, and although the company states that this latest new tooling project is “advancing nicely towards its scheduled release date,” it emphasizes that the frames are “very much at the development stage and still represent a relatively early stage in this process.”

Brickmania Releases New LEGO P-51D Model Kit

Brickmania has released a new, limited edition 1/35 P-51D Mustang LEGO model kit.

The offering (BKM2227) boasts a color scheme representing Mustangs of the 352nd Fighter Group and reportedly includes 438 new-condition LEGO elements, a high-quality sticker sheet and a custom-printed American pilot minifigure.

The model is described containing “cool features” including retractable landing gear, a spinning propeller, and brick-built color scheme.

HK Models Announces Massive 1/32 Avro Lancaster B Mk.III Dambusters Kit

HK Models will be following up last year’s 1/32 Lancaster B Mk.I release with an upcoming 1/32 B Mk.III Dambusters model kit to commemorate the 76th anniversary of the Dambusters raid.

Details on the offering (01E011) are currently scarce, although box art, images of a partially assembled model as well as a possible livery profile have been released. The profile suggests that the kit will include decals representing ED932/AJ-G of 617 Squadron.

Eduard has released a new 1/72 Fokker D.VII model kit representing aircraft built by Ostdeutsche Albatros Werke (OAW).

The ProfiPACK edition (70131) kit is touted as offering Eduard plastic parts and decals, pre-painted photoetched parts, a painting mask and marking options for five machines, including the aircraft seen on the box art above, which was flown by Ltn. Wilhelm Leusch, CO of Jasta 19.

Eduard has released a limited edition “Barbarossa” dual combo model kit featuring Bf 109E and Bf 109F-2 aircraft in 1/48 scale.

E-Flite Releases New 80mm F-4 Phantom II RC Model

E-Flite has released their new 80mm F-4 Phantom RC model in both BNF and PNP versions.

As previously reported, The offering is described as an “Extra Scale replica that delivers incredible performance in a great handling model.” Features reportedly include removable ordnance and tanks, strut covers, molded-in panel lines, LED lights, full-flying stabs, flaps and sequenced nose gear doors. Power is provided by a factory-installed high-power 6S-compatible brushless inrunner motor and 100-amp ESC.

First Look: Test Sprues For Airfix’s New Tool Blackburn Buccaneer

Airfix has released a new series of images featuring test frames for their upcoming Blackburn Buccaneer S Mk.2 model kit (A06021) in 1/72 scale.

The representation of “one of the world’s most accomplished low level strike jets” was reportedly on the company’s most requested list for some time and is now said to be “advancing nicely towards its scheduled release date.”

The newly released images show “all the major parts and illustrates how the new kit will come together as a build project.” Every aspect of the parts will reportedly be inspected and assessed, which could lead to a schedule of refinements being produced. A test build will then follow.
