Kineticmodel Surprise Announcement: New Tool F-104 Starfighter Kit

Kineticmodel has made a surprise announcement that a new tool 1/48 F-104G Starfighter model kit is on its way.

The offering (48083) will reportedly include the avionics bay, C-2/GQ-7A ejection seat, radar and a detailed landing gear bay. The company states that the kit will be released as part of the “Kinetic Gold” series, which sees all tooling quality/design based on the new standard. In addition, the detail surface will make use the mirror EDM system to represent a shined, polished, bare metal surface.

Motion RC Releases New FlightLine 850mm Fw 190 D-9 Dora RC Model

Motion RC has announced the release of a new FlightLine 850mm (33″) Fw 190 D-9 Dora PNP RC model as part of their Pocket Warbird Series.

The model (FLW102P) comes with motor, ESC and servos pre-installed and is reportedly compatible with both 3S and 4S LiPo batteries without any modifications. Its list of features includes “beginner-friendly wing loading, upgrade-friendly components and layout, durable structural enhancements, skid-proof underside covering and screw-on one-piece wing.”

Airfix Announces Release Date For 1/24 F6F Hellcat

In a recent announcement, Airfix revealed that their highly anticipated new tool 1/24 F6F-5 Hellcat model kit will be released on June 21.

As previously reported, the model was originally announced at the Telford model show in November. It will reportedly include over 600 parts with full cockpit detail; a complete, fully detailed radial engine, engine mount and all ancillaries; separate engine cowling and forward fuselage panels; detailed undercarriage, undercarriage bays and arrestor hook; fully detailed gun bays with complete machine guns and ammunition trays and realistic surface detailing showing rivets, fasteners and rippled stressed skin. Drop tanks (2 types), 250lb and 500lb bombs and rockets are also included.

The kit is also touted as offering the options to display the wings extended or folded, the canopy open or closed and the landing gear and flaps either extended or retracted. Four livery options are also included, profiles of which can be seen below.

Now Available: HK Models Massive 1/32 Lancaster B Mk.III Dambusters Kit

HK Models has released their massive 1/32 Avro Lancaster B Mk.III Dambusters model kit.

As previously reported, the new kit follows HK’s 1/32 Lancaster B Mk.I kit released last year and commemorates the 76th anniversary of the Dambusters raid.

It appears that the kit includes only one livery representing ED932/AJ-G of 617 Squadron.

Eduard to Release New Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8/R2 Model Kit

Eduard has announced the upcoming release of a “New Generation” ProfiPACK edition Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8/R2 model kit in 1/48 scale.

The kit (82145) reportedly includes Eduard sprues, pre-painted photoetched parts, a painting mask and Eduard decals with marking options for five aircraft. Preliminary images seen below suggest that the liveries will represent W. Nr. 680747 flown by Oblt. H. Weik of 10.(Sturm)/JG 3 and W. Nr. 682989 of 5./ JG 301, as well as aircraft flown by Karl Spenst, 8./ JG 300, Hptm. Gerhard Schröder of II.(Sturm)/JG 4 and Adalbert Koch of 6./JG 300.

The kit is currently slated for release in June.

HpH Models Releases New Images of Massive 1/48 B-52 Kit

HpH Models has released new images of its upcoming B-52H Stratofortress in a massive 1/48 scale.

As previously reported, the kit is part of the company’s “extreme” line, which also includes a 1/48 B-36 Peacemaker. It will reportedly include fiberglass main assemblies, vacuum cast resin details and clear parts made of transparent resin. Also said to be included are photo-etched and metal parts, a wet transfer decal sheet and painting masks.

The kit (HPH 48052L) will contain a complete interior, undercarriage, open bomb bay and bomb racks with a basic armament fit. Extra accessories will also be released as separate sets that include a complete maximum payload of “steel bombs” (including their appropriate racks), ALCM cruise missiles (including the internal rotary launcher and external racks) and a huge landing flaps kit (it is necessary to order this kit simultaneously with the B-52 kit in order to prepare the basic wing parts for the flaps installation).

MikroMir Releases Handley Page Victor B.Mk1/K.2P Model Kit

MikroMir has released a Handley Page Victor B.Mk1/K.2P model kit in 1/144 scale.

Details on the kit (144-027) are scarce, but images of the contents have been released and appear to show plastic and photoetched parts as well as decals with marking options for three aircraft, including XH648 (seen on the box art above), XA940 and XH592.

Kinetic Models Shares Update on Upcoming Harrier GR.1 Kit

After receiving many inquiries, Kinetic Models has provided an update on its highly anticipated 1/48 Harrier GR.1 kit (48060).

The company states, “Same as our T-Harrier, this GR1 fueslage, cockpit, in take will be tooled according to our latest tooling quality. So, for those who has the T-Harrier, you know what you will get.”

The GR.1 is also said to have a product code assigned and CAD prepared (although not final round). It is slated to be released in time for the Telford model show in November with pre-orders expected to launch at the end of August.

Academy Releases New B-25D “Pacific Theatre” Model Kit

Academy has released a new B-25D “Pacific Theatre” model kit in 1/48 scale.

The kit (12328) reportedly includes a highly detailed cockpit interior, bomb bay and machine guns as well as options to build the landing gear and bomb bay in extended or retracted positions. Also included is a canopy mask and Cartograf decals with three marking options representing 41-30024 “Red Wrath,” 41-30026, “Near Miss” / “Hilda” and 41-30669 “Tondelayo.”

Airfix Releases First Images of New Tool Spitfire FR Mk.XIV in “Lead Scheme”

Airfix has released an update on its upcoming new tool Spitfire FR Mk.XIV in 1/48 scale.

The update offers the first images of the completed model wearing its “lead scheme option” representing NH902 VC-P ‘Lazy Lady V’, flown by Squadron Leader James Bernard Prendergast of 414 Squadron, RCAF. This particular livery was worn by the machine when Prendergast scored his double Fw 190 kill on May 2, 1945 and when he was flying on VE Day.

The kit (A05135) was developed with the aid of “a vast collection of research materials, original drawings and photographs relating to Spitfire production” as well as computer base model shape data from their Spitfire Mk.1 kit released in 2014. A second livery representing TZ112 will also be included.
