Airfix Releases New Tool Hawker Sea Fury “Export Edition” Model Kit

Airfix has released its new tool Hawker Sea Fury FB11 “Export Edition” model kit in 1/48 scale.

The kit (A06106) represents “the last in an illustrious line of Hawker piston engined fighters” which went on to serve in Holland, Australia and Canada, becoming one of the fastest propeller driven aircraft ever produced.

The offering reportedly boasts three livery options: “Scheme 1: VW645 Sydney August 1955; Scheme 2: FB11 803 Squadron Royal Canadian Navy 1948; Scheme 3: Sea Fury FB. MK50 no860 Squadron Royal Dutch Navy – Aerobats.”

Trumpeter Releases New Tool 1/32 P-40 Warhawk Model Kit

Trumpeter recently released their new tool P-40F Warhawk in 1/32 scale.

The kit (03227) reportedly includes injected plastic parts, photo etched parts and marking options for four aircraft. It is touted as offering a detailed fuselage and wings with accurate design, a finely detailed cockpit and gear cabin, and grooved tires.

Brickmania Releases 1/35 F4U Corsair LEGO Model Kit

Brickmania has released a new, limited edition 1/35 F4U Corsair LEGO model kit.

The offering reportedly includes 541 “new-condition” elements from LEGO, a brick-built, three-tone camouflage livery, high-quality sticker sheet and an American pilot minifigure.

The model is described as having been updated to include “a new bubble canopy, printed exhaust ports, dive flaps, and an all-around stronger design.” It also includes conversion instructions so it can be displayed with its wings folded up.

Airfix To Release New Tool Spitfire FR Mk.XIV Model Kit

On Moday, Airfix added their 2019 range of products to their website, providing an excellent look at some exciting new tool kits, such as their upcoming 1/24 F6F Hellcat and this 1/48 Spitfire FR Mk.XIV.

As previously reported, the kit (A05135) was developed with the aid of “a vast collection of research materials, original drawings and photographs relating to Spitfire production” as well as computer base model shape data from their Spitfire Mk.1 kit released in 2014. The new listing suggests that liveries will be included for NH902 “Lazy Lady V,” and TZ112, although the company points out that colors and contents of products may vary.

Eduard to Release New Tool Fokker D.VII Model Kit, Line to Follow

Eduard has provided an update on their upcoming new tool Fokker D.VII model kit in 1/72 scale.

The kit, which will reportedly debut in May, will be “a scaled down version of the 48th scale kit,” but will be “modified to the point where the older and larger version will be mostly unidentifiable.” The type will also be the subject of a line of kits representing a number of variants. Eduard Provides Update on Upcoming New Tool P-51 Mustang Kit

Eduard has offered new details on their upcoming new tool P-51 Mustang model kit in 1/48 scale.

Originally announced at the E-Day International Scale Kit Exhibition back in October 2017, the kit is now said to be “progressing quickly forwards” with the first test shots expected to be available in the spring. Eduard Announces Upcoming Release of New Tool Hawker Tempest Series 2 Model Kit

Following the release of their new tool Series 1 Hawker Tempest Mk V last month, Eduard has announced the upcoming release of Series 2 in 1/48 scale.

The kit (82122) will be offered as a ProfiPack edition with paint masks, pre-colored photo etched parts and Cartograf decals for six machines. The company also states that there are some improvements in the plastic frames, which will be described in the new year.

Hobby Boss Releases New Tool 1/32 B-24J Liberator Model Kit

Hobby Boss has released their new tool B-24J Liberator model kit in 1/32 scale.

The new kit (83211) reportedly includes detailed fuselage and wing with accurate design, finely detailed cockpit and gear cabin, grooved rubber tires and PE parts. Three marking options are also included which recreate S/N 44-40674 “Going My Way,” S/N 42-109816 “War Goddess” and 44-40927 “My Akin ?.”

Watch the Stop Motion Assembly of a Brass Etrich Taube Structure Model [Video]

Modeler extraordinaire Tom Grigat has returned with a new stop motion animation video detailing his construction of Aerobase’s 1/160 Etrich Taube.

The model consists of brass parts and represents the structure of the unique Austrian design, which was introduced in 1910 and saw military service as a training and reconnaissance machine. Regarding the Aerobase kit, Grigat states:

It’s completely assembled without any glue used and is more some kind of a little trinket than a scale model. But it shows the beautiful construction of the aircraft – and the propeller rotates by blowing at it…

Modelsvit Releases New Tool XP-55 Ascender Model Kit

Modelsvit has released their new tool XP-55 Ascender model kit in 1/48 scale.

The aircraft, built by Curtiss-Wright, performed its maiden flight in 1943 but its performance was found to be lacking. Only three examples of the type were built – two of which were destroyed in crashes. The third is currently on long-term loan from Kalamazoo, Michigan’s Air Zoo to the National Air & Space Museum in Washington DC.

The new kit (4808) reportedly includes PE sheet (instrument panel, seat belts, cabin side panels), two canopies (open/closed), painting masks (inner/outer) and marking options for two machines (S/N 278846, S/N 278847).
