1942 Hawker Hurricane Mk IIB 5481 Offered For Sale

Hawker Hurricane XII/IIB S/N 5481 (VH-JFW) has hit the market. The listing states (in part):

An Original CC&F Hurricane Completely Restored And Flying For The Past 27 Years. This Hurricane Recently Underwent A Major IRAN Including All New Wood, Fabric, Paint, Overhauled Propeller And Radiators.

The airframe reportedly has 209.9 hrs since restoration and 22.2 hrs since major IRAN, including all new wood, fabric, paint, overhauled propeller and radiators. The Rolls Royce Merlin 500/45 engine reportedly has 209.9 SMOH by Vintage V-12s and 22.2 Hrs STOH.

The aircraft is shown above in 2006 while wearing the colors of Mk I P2970 “Little Willie.” In 2014, the machine was restored by Vintage Fighter Restorations of Australia and now represents V6748, flown by John Dallas Crossman of 32 and 46 Squadrons.

1958 Lockheed C-130A “Hercules” S/N 3212 (N131EC), described as “the only civilian FAA approved C-130A in the world” has hit the market. The listing states (in part):

The Only C-130A Licensed By The FAA. Lapes Roller System, Airdrop Capability For Paratrooping. End User Agreement Required. For Sale Or Trade.

The airframe reportedly has 11,615 TTSN; 2,324 hrs since Lockheed anti-deterioration service check; 751 hrs since last “D” check and 9,362 landings since new. The four Allison T-56A-11 engines have 225, 775, 470 and 1150 SOH.

The machine is described as offering an extensive avionics package as well as a full set of maintenance and inspection manuals. World’s Only Dual Control, Two Seat Hawker Hurricane Offered For Sale

1944 Hawker Hurricane IIB G-HHII (S/N R20023), touted as “the world’s only dual control two seat Hawker Hurricane” has hit the market.

The aircraft was manufactured by the Canadian Car & Foundry Company in 1942 and served with the RCAF until 1944. It then passed through a succession of owners, including Tony Ditheridge of Hawker Restorations, who restored it to a fighter-bomber configuration in the markings of BE505 of 174 (Mauritius) Squadron. The machine was acquired by the Hangar 11 Collection in 2007 and performed its first post-restoration flight in 2009. After being offered for sale, the machine once again joined the Hawker Restorations family and was chosen for conversion to a two-seat Hurricane. The aircraft is described as a “documented Battle of Britain veteran” operated by 501 Sqn in September 1940. It is equipped with Rolls Royce Merlin III engine with 11.45 Hrs SMOH by Maurice Hammond of Eye Tech Engineering. The prop is a Hamilton Standard 23E50-495 with 11.45 Hrs SPOH.

France-based Replic Aero is now offering Sopwith Pup kits that reportedly allow you to “assemble your plane exactly as it was 100 years ago.”

I started to build the plane but due to some life changes I am going to offer it up at auction… This is for a partially built kit only. The Fuselage is 75% built and the Rudder is completed. Both section are well done. If you prefer to start from scratch Airdrome Aerplanes will sell you the just these sub-kits. It’s all there still in the original shipping crate. Instructions and dvd’s are included. all parts are labeled and the kit is very build able (not a big mess). Great big wing, perfect for a smaller 4-stroke engine. Easy & fun flyer. I understand it needs to be a good value to sell so I am starting the bidding off at $499.99. The kit cost new over $5500.00. Does not include engine or prop.
