Harrier GR3 XZ132 has hit the market. The listing states (in part):

Classic British Cold War Iconic Warbird. Rare opportunity. Ideal investment portfolio piece. Described in the press as being in ‘Time capsule condition’. XZ132 has great provenance serving with all the RAF Harrier Squadrons inc RAF Germany during the Cold War, Belize and the Falklands. XZ132 was one of the aircraft prepared for operation Corporate to retake the Falklands Islands in 1982. Over 50kg of paperwork included. Rolls Royce Pegasus Mk103 included. Externally complete. Cockpit very complete with the original Mk9A ejection seat installed (inert). Last flown: 8/10/90. Total Hrs: 3193

The machine, located in Selby, United Kingdom, is described as “decommissioned Ex UK MOD surplus equipment and not sold as airworthy.”

Just Flight Releases New Screenshots, Video of Upcoming Avro Vulcan For FSX, P3D

Just Flight has released a new series of exterior shots and a promo video showcasing their upcoming Avro Vulcan B Mk 2 for FSX and P3D.

The model was reportedly built using “real-world aircraft plans and comprehensive photography of the real aircraft (XM655)” and is said to include many detailed animations, a range of payload options, varying external parts for several configurations, Olympus 201 and 301 engine nozzle types and ground equipment.

Additional features reportedly include 4096×4096 textures to produce the highest possible texture clarity, bump and specular mapping to produce a truly 3D feel, “a truly 3D virtual cockpit” and 11 marking options.

The model is currently drawing closer to completion, although a release date has not yet been announced. Click below to check out the video and additional images.

Grumman SA-16B Airframe Project Offered For Sale

A Grumman SA-16B Triphibian (Air Force SAR #51-0043) project airframe has hit the market. The listing states (in part):

TT:6915.7. Built in 1951, It was flown in the U.S. Air-Force until 1972 when it was retired in Tucson, AZ. It has been in storage in Tucson since retirement. It is a low time Air Force Long wing “B”, it would be nice to find someone, that would like to make the investment to restore the old bird. It was once owned by Charlie Blair and Maureen Ohara, of Antilles Air Boats. It does have some storage rash in some places but it is a real nice airframe.

Brickmania Releases 1/35 F-4C Phantom II LEGO Model Kit

Brickmania has released a new, limited edition 1/35 F-4C Phantom LEGO model kit.

The offering reportedly includes 1,290 “new-condition LEGO bricks,” two custom-printed minifigures, retractable landing gear and a detailed cockpit with custom printing. The model also includes representations of armament including four AIM-7E Sparrows, four AIM-9 Sidewinders, two MK-77 napalm canisters and a SUU-16/A gun pod.

Rare 1947 Fiat G-46-3B Offered For Sale

A rare 1947 Fiat G-46-3B (S/N 44-MM-52-801 / I-GIGE) has hit the market.

The example of the Italian military trainer is reportedly powered by a 225 hp Alfa Romeo 115ter and includes a Becker Comm, “good condition” stock military interior and Regia Aeronáutica markings. Spares are said to include a new engine, new fuel pump and six sets of tires.

Last F-14 to Land on Aircraft Carrier Arrives at its New Home

A historically significant example of the F-14 Tomcat has arrived at its new home at the Museum of Flight in Rome, Georgia.

The aircraft (B/N 164346) “Sweet Little Miss” was delivered to the US Navy in February 1992 and went on to participate in Operation Iraqi Freedom serving aboard USS Abraham Lincoln and USS Theodore Roosevelt. On June 28, 2006 it became the last Tomcat to operationally land aboard an aircraft carrier with pilot Lt. Chris Rattigan and RIO Lt. Paul Dort at the controls. In September of that year it performed its final flight during delivery to the Virginia Aviation Museum in Richmond.

Following the museum’s closure in 2016, the aircraft, which was on loan from the National Museum of Naval Aviation, was acquired by The Museum of Flight. It was cleared for disassembly for movement in November 2017 and reportedly arrived at its new home earlier this month.

Hispano Saeta In “Perfect Flight Order” Hits the Market

A 1970 Hispano Saeta has hit the market.

The listing states that the machine is privately owned and “in perfect state of operation and in flight order” with “all the documentation in rule to fly.”

The Saeta was a two-seat advanced jet trainer designed by Willy Messerschmitt and constructed by Hispano Aviación. The type performed its maiden flight in 1955 and went on to serve with the air forces of Spain and Egypt. It was also developed into the HA-220 “Super Saeta” which was equipped with attack capabilities.
