KP to Release New Seafire Mk.Ib Kits, 3 Separate Boxings Announced

Kovozávody Prostĕjov (KP) is planning the release of three separate Supermarine Seafire Mk.Ib model kits in 1/72 scale.

The kit reportedly uses the basic moldings of the company’s Spitfire Mk.I / V model with the addition of “a completely new frame made of metal mold with different parts.” The offerings will include two Supermarine Seafire Mk.Ib boxings (KPM0238 / KPM023) and Supermarine Seafire Mk.Ib, USAAF (KPM0241).

HK Announces New B-25H “Gunships over CBI” Model Kit

HK Models has announced the upcoming release of a new B-25H Mitchell model kit in 1/32 scale.

The offering (01E037), dubbed “Gunships over CBI” includes Cartograf decals with two marking options representing S/N 43-4975 “Kid Sister” and 43-4244 “Peggy,” both of 81st BS/12th BG. A number of additional images have also been released which can be seen below.

The kit is currently slated for release some time in March.

MENG to Release New, Large Scale 1/24 Fokker Triplane Kit

MENG has announced the upcoming release of a new Fokker Dr.1 kit in 1/24 scale.

The kit (QS-003), which follows the 1/32 example released in September, will span 299.99mm and measure 243.2mm in length, an impressive size that “can better show the features of this legendary triplane.”

Features reportedly include precision PE parts and clear parts, as well as a bevy of details:

he airborne machine guns have one-piece metal cooling jackets and PE gun sights. The air-cooled rotary engine is a typical product of its times. The 1/24 scale engine features more realistic and detailed construction. This model features accurate wing structure and realistic fabric covering. The wheels are highly detailed. The text and canvas texture are replicated.

Eduard Releases New Spitfire Mk.IIa Model Kit

Eduard has released a new ProfiPACk edition Spitfire Mk.IIa model kit in 1/48 scale.

The kit (82153) includes Eduard plastic parts and decals, pre-painted photo-etched parts, a painting mask and marking options for five machines. Liveries represent P7881 flown by S/Ldr. Michael L. Robinson, CO of No.609 Squadron; P8387, flown by Sgt. Stanislaw Blok of No.315 (Polish) Squadron; P8038, flown by Fl/Lt. Brendan E.F. Finucane DFC of No.452 Squadron RAAF; P8081, flown by Fl/Lt. Tomáš Vybíral of No.312 (Czechoslovak) Squadron and P7840 of No.340 (Free French) Squadron.

Tamiya Announces New Tool 1/48 F-4B Phantom II

Tamiya has announced the upcoming release of a new tool McDonnell Douglas F-4B Phantom II model kit in 1/48 scale.

The offering (61121) is described as an accurate depiction of the machine’s complex form based on research of the actual aircraft. A few features have also been provided:

Outer wings can be assembled folded or extended, and right and left tailplane move in concert. Choose between open and closed canopy, and expanded or stored refueling probe and boarding ladder.

A series of images have been released showing a tentative prototype model with panel lines accented and transparent canopy parts partly painted. it appears there is no release date at the moment, as “the kit is still being finalized as we speak.” Click below to check out additional photos.

E-flite has announced the upcoming release of their first ever Focke-Wulf RC model, described as “the most detailed, best handling, and highest performance Fw 190A model yet!”

The 1.5m offering will reportedly include a removable drop tank, molded-in panel lines and guns; a factory-installed, high-power 6S-compatible brushless motor with large diameter 3-blade prop and simulated engine fan; Fits 6S batteries from 3200-7000mAh to deliver level flight top speeds up to 80+ MPH and nearly unlimited vertical performance; retractable main gear with scale-like length and shock-absorbing struts for operation from a variety of surfaces including grass.

This first-ever E-flite® Focke-Wulf model is based on a full-scale replica once owned by the late Rudy Frasca. Painted with the wartime markings of Austrian Luftwaffe pilot Oskar Bosch, the replica has been flown in west coast airshows and at the National Air Races in Reno. The E-flite Fw 190A 1.5m stands apart from all other RC model versions by delivering superior Extra Scale details, functional features and performance in a larger size, while being easy to assemble, transport and store. It’s also equipped with a Spektrum™ Avian™ Smart ESC to deliver a warbird experience unlike any other!

Eduard Releases Limited Edition, Dual Combo Fokker D.VII Model Kit

Eduard has released a new, limited edition “Fokker Fokker!” dual combo kit representing Fokker D.VII machines produced by the Fokker factory.

The 1/72 offering (2133) includes parts to build two aircraft and reportedly includes Eduard plastic parts and decals, pre-painted photo-etched parts, a painting mask and resin BMW IIIa and Mercedes D III engines. 12 marking options are also included representing machines flown by Rudolf Berthold, Josef Jacobs (365/18), Harald Auffarth (387/18), Willi Gabriel (286/18), Heinz Küstner, Heinrich Baurose (4301/18), Gotthard Sachsenberg, Friedrich Wilhelm Hippert (505/18), Ltn. d. Special Hobby Releases New Tool Bf 109E-4 Model Kit

Special Hobby has released their new tool Bf 109E-4 model kit in 1/72 scale.

The offering (SH72439) was reportedly produced in collaboration with Eduard, which provided basic data for the 3D model. The result includes three sprues (two grey styrene and one clear) with options to display the engine and fuselage machine gun cover panels open or closed. In addition, the wing flaps, slats and ailerons can also be posed in differing positions.

Marking options are included for four machines, including E-4s flown by Gerhard Schopfel of III./JG 26, Oblt. Helmut Wick (W/N 4148) of III./JG 2 and Hptm. Wolfgang Lippert (W/N 4148) of II./JG 27. “Yellow 8” of III./JG 52 is also represented.
