ICM Releases New Tool 1/32 DH.82A Tiger Moth Kit

ICM has released their new tool DH.82A Tiger Moth model kit in 1/32 scale.

As previously reported, the kit (32035) is produced using “100% new molds” and includes a highly detailed engine and cockpit interior as well as marking options for two machines. Liveries represent machines operating with 25 (Polish) EFTS in the summer of 1944, and 3 Squadron Flight Training Squadron at RAF Grantham in 1938.

Eduard Releases Limited Edition Dual Combo Spitfire Mk.II Model Kit

Eduard has released a limited edition, dual combo Spitfire Mk.IIa / Mk.IIb kit in 1/48 scale.

The offering, dubbed “Spitfire Story: Tally Ho!” (11146), reportedly includes two complete kits and features Eduard plastic parts and decals, pre-painted photo-etched parts, a painting mask, RAF pilot and groud crew figures and marking options for 11 aircraft.

One kit makes the Spitfire Mk.IIa with eight 7.7mm machine guns in the wings and the other covers the Spitfire Mk.IIb, with two 20mm cannon and four 7.7mm machine guns.

New Details, Renderings of HK’s Upcoming B-17F Model Kit

HK Models has released new details on their upcoming 1/48 B-17F model kit.

The offering (01F002) will reportedly include marking options for the famous “Memphis Belle” as well as “Old Faithful” of the 358th BS / 303 BG. As previously reported, the model spans 658 mm, measures 474 mm in length and includes 254 parts. It is slated for release in mid-December.

Revell Releases New “Platinum Edition” B-29 Superfortress Model Kit

Revell has released a new “Platinum Edition” B-29 Superfortress model kit in 1/48 scale.

The limited edition offering (03850) is described as a rebox with updated/new parts and reportedly includes printed photo-etched parts for the cockpit, consoles and dashboard; photo-etched parts for the seat belts, engine nacelles and radial engines; complete bomb-bay with 12 bombs; detailed radio operator/navigators position; revolving machine-gun turrets; open bomb-doors; detailed undercarriage; five crew figures and a decal set for 2 USAAF versions the 504th Bomber Group and the 498th Bomber Group.

The “Level 5” kit includes 215 parts and spans 900mm with a length of 655mm.

Italeri Releases P-38J Model Kit With Four New Liveries

Italeri has released a new P-38J boxing in 1/72 scale.

The kit is reportedly based on the Academy P-38 released in 2004 and includes new decals with marking options for four machines: “Miss Ann” of 7th FG; “BAMBI” of 55th FG, 338 FS; “Curly Six” of 367th FG, 394th FS and “T Rigor Mortis” of 421st FG.

Special Hobby Shares Liveries For Upcoming Westland Whirlwind Kit

Special Hobby has posted an update with marking options for their upcoming Westland Whirlwind Mk.I model kit in 1/32 scale.

As previously reported, the kit’s (SH32047) development has been talked about for some time in the modeling community and its release is anxiously awaited. Previous updates have focused on CAD renderings, test fittings and the molds, which were reportedly created using an electroplating process sometimes also known as galvanic deposition.

The company recently completed work on the 3D data, and released renderings showing early and late cockpits. The cockpit itself will reportedly be “very detailed” with the kit boasting both plastic parts and PE fret.

First Look: Special Hobby Shares Sprue Photos For New Tool Bf 109E-4 Kit

Special Hobby has shared the first photos of their upcoming new tool Bf 109E-4 model kit in 1/72 scale.

In addition to the sprue photos, the company has also released CAD renderings of the model (SH72439) as well as livery profiles. It appears that four options will be available, including aircraft flown by Gerhart Schopfel of III/JG 26 and “Yellow 8” of III./JG 5. Two representations of W/N 4148 are also included, depicting the machine as flown by Oblt. Helmut Wick in August 1940 and Hptm. Wolfgang Lippert in April 1941.
