A 3/4 scale Jurca P-51D Mustang (Jurca MJ-77 Gnatsum) has been spotted for sale. The listing states (in part):

Jurca plans call for aircraft made of wood construction covered with fabric. They do not require expensive tools or exotic parts. This project is sold with a new, clearly printed set of plans on quality paper, not the crumbling original poor quality paper that has deteriorated over time… This aircraft project consists of built assemblies of the Fuselage, Tail, Rudder, Wing Spar, most wing components/ ribs built, Ailerons built, Pilots seat, windshield, Fiberglass nose bowl, tail fillet fairing, and build boards for constructing wings. Will need instruments, landing gear, Top Canopy, Engine and prop, and forward cowl built to accommodate your choice of engine.

New Warpaint Special Details P-51 and Derivatives With Plans, Profiles and Over 200 Photos

Guideline Publications and author Ken Darling have released Warpaint Special No. 5, which focuses on the North American P-51 Mustang and its derivatives.

The title reportedly boasts over 200 images (some never seen before), 16 pages of color profiles, 2 page scale plans and 4 pages of detailed aircraft used by various units. It is supported with artwork by John Fox.

P-51 S/N 44-74813 (N151BW) has been spotted for sale. The machine is described as a grand champion award winner (Oshkosh 2002) which is very well cared for and flown very little, but regularly, since restoration. The listing states (in part):

385 Hrs since Midwest Aero restoration and Vintage V-12 Overhaul. 50 Hrs since Roush Heads & Banks. All the goodies! Spitfire Mirrors, Guns, Ammo-belts, Drop-tanks, Gunsight, very stock panel, New Cuffs on Prop in’17. Pre-oiler, spin-on oil filters, Rotax Mags, Hinz filter, Shadin, Looks fantastic!

For Sale: “Truly One of a Kind” P-51 Pedal Plane

A “truly one of a kind” P-51 pedal plane has been spotted for sale. The listing states (in part):

This is truly a one of a kind P-51 Mustang Pedal Car Reno Air Racer Boomer II. This pedal car was made from the patterns and kit sold by EAA. It was built for my husband by a wonderful homebuilder who my husband believed was the best homebuilder he ever knew. It is painted as the mustang Boomer II that my husband raced in the Reno National Air Races. Condition is very good. It has only been pedaled around inside the hangar a few times by our granddaughter and has been up on this cabinet for the last few years.

Eduard Releases New P-51D F-6D/K Photo Reconnaissance Model Kit

Eduard has released a new F-6D/K photo reconnaissance version of the P-51D Mustang in 1/48 scale.

The new offering (82103) reportedly includes Eduard plastic parts and decals, pre-painted photo-etched parts, a painting mask and marking options for six machines:

P-51 Under Restoration and For Sale With Option to Complete as P-51D or TF-51

Tom Reilly and his skilled crew (best known for the award-winning XP-82 Twin Mustang restoration) are currently in the process of restoring a P-51 (S/N 44-12853), and it’s for sale. The listing states (in part):

This is a unique opportunity to have a P-51 Mustang built to your specifications. Customer to choose: restored as a P-51D or a TF-51: Interior paint colors, instrument panel layout, rear seat configuration, replica guns/no guns, exterior paint / polish. The project is currently under restoration and the will be updated as subassemblies are completed and parts added.

The fuselage has reportedly been rebuilt with new skins and longerons and is ready for systems installation (the systems are described as “either N.O.S., new manufactured, or overhauled to zero time specifications”). The engine mount has also been rebuilt with new longerons. A wing kit has been purchased from Odegaard Wings and will be restored with new wing spars, ribs, and skins. The aircraft will be powered by a Packard V-1650-9 to be overhauled by either Vintage V-12’s or Roush Aviation.

The project is located in Georgia and is currently being offered with two options: completed as a P-51D for $2.45m or a full dual control TF-51 for $3.5m. Click here to check out the complete listing.

1944 North American P-51D “Rosalie” (s/n 44-75009 / N51TC) is available for sale with a newly reduced price.

The airframe reportedly has 1903 TTSN while the Packard -1650-7 engine (w/ Rolls Royce 720 Heads & Banks) has 115 hrs SMOH (25 hrs since top overhaul by Roush Aviation). The machine is fitted with a Hamilton Standard 24D50 w/ Paddle Blades (35 hrs since overhaul / A.D. coupled with 12/17) and includes an avionics package, new oil and coolant lines (2018) and P-63 wheels and brakes.
