F.E.W. 2/3 Scale TF-51D Mustang Project For Sale: “Only 85 Hrs Since New”

A Fighter Escort Wings (FEW) 2/3 scale TF-51D Mustang project has been spotted for sale. The listing states (in part):

For sale here is a year 2000 completed F.E.W. TF-51d, 2/3rds scale with the Chevrolet ZZ3, 350 cu.in. Engine and mt composite blade 4 blade prop!… This aircraft has only 85 hours since brand new! There is now a fist sized hole in the aluminum valve cover and a smaller hole in the left aluminum head… The cause of the hole in the head is in question: the reports say a valve stuck, causing the hot spot that burned through the aluminum head and then the valve cover, but other sources blame an exhaust leak, directed at this area from the outside as the cause. Regardless, the result was smoke in the cockpit and possibly flame, so the pilot wisely decided to end the flight immediately, off airport! Sold with technical logs for engine, prop and airframe since new, plus the journey log. And 2 boxes of supporting paperwork, including the assembly manual! And the Canadian bill of sale!… The fuselage is mounted to a cradle to support the engine and this is included. The 1 piece wing is 26’ long and manageable.

A 2/3 scale SAL P-51 Mustang has been spotted for sale. The listing states (in part):

The intended powerplant is either a 200hp ranger in-line 6 cylinder engine or an LS series auto engine conversion with PSRU. Major components completed. Aircraft is currently disassembled with fuselage and wing on separate rolling work stands… Being sold as a project, aircraft parts, not an airworthy aircraft. With dedication, you could complete this project as the ‘owner builder’ and fly this aircraft to Oshkosh next year. Or, this aircraft could be assembled as a static display for a restaurant, airport, flying club, museum or enthusiast. Incldues builders plans and notes. Will be sold with work stands which can secure the fuselage and wing for shipping.

A 2/3 scale Sal/Falco P-51 is available for sale. The listing states:

2/3 scale nearing completion. LS-1 engine, 4-blade prop with PSRU and ignition system. Like new condition engine. Includes a digital com radio. Nacogdoches, TX I do have the prop spinner. Prop is ground adjustable. HiVo chain prop speed reduction unit. This is not a kit. This plans built plane has never been flown, never had a different engine but will also take a ranger engine. Have cowlings for Ranger engine-cowlings for the LS-1 have not been fabricated. Never been damaged. Wings removed easily for transport.

The aircraft reportedly consists of Sal/Falco type plans and construction, an LS-1 engine (said to be in “good condition”) and a 4-blade propeller with PSRU and ignition system custom built for the engine type. A digital com radio is also included.
