First Look: Test Frames For Modelsvit’s Upcoming New Tool P-51H

Modelsvit has announced that the molding process for their upcoming new tool 1/48 P-51H model kit is nearing completion, and has released photos of the first test frames.

As previously reported, the company states that the 1/48 kit will include two cockpits, clear parts (open/closed canopy) and flaps that can be adjusted in 2 positions. It was previously indicated that the model would be released sometime in 2019.

Kermit Weeks Shares September 2019 Messerschmitt Bf 108 Restoration Update

For the latest installment of the Fantasy of Flight Mechanic’s Corner video series, owner Kermit Weeks shares an update on the restoration of his Messerschmitt Bf 108.

This update has been “a long time coming,” having been postponed by “multiple distractions” including Hurricane Dorian. In the report, Fantasy of Flight restoration specialist Paul Stecewycz explains some of the delays, and catches us up on the ongoing work, which centers on the fuselage, tail, rivets, and wood and metal parts that need to be recovered in leather.

Hangar 9 Releases New 88″ Ki-43 Oscar RC Model

Hangar 9 has released its new 88″ Nakajima Ki-43 Oscar ARF RC model.

The giant scale model (HAN4720) is touted as offering “outstanding flying characteristics” and “scale details typically not found on other ARF aircraft.” It is one of only two Hangar 9 giant scale warbirds with satin-finish printed covering and reportedly includes panel lines, rivets and weathering as well as a 3D instrument panel, pilot bust, 5″ scale wheels and two-piece plug-in wings with aluminum tube for easy transportation and storage.

ICM Releases New Tool B-26B-50 Invader Model Kit

ICM Models has released a new B-26B-50 Invader “Korean War American Bomber” model kit in 1/48 scale.

Details appear to be limited, but the new item for September (48281) is reportedly created with “100% new molds” and is described as including highly detailed engines, armament and cockpit interior and marking options for three aircraft.

Flight Replicas to Release B-24 Liberator for FSX, P3D

Flight simulation developer Flight Replicas has shared an update on their upcoming B-24J Liberator, which will reportedly be “for all versions of FSX and P3D.”

The update states that the aircraft is coming along well with the external model nearing completion and the creation of the virtual cockpit to follow. In addition to the J version, D and H models will reportedly also be available, as will the C-87 cargo/passenger prototype.

The machine seen in the newly released images represents 44-40120, which operated with 492 BG/859 BS (where it completed its first 25 missions) and later 467 BG/ 788 BS (to complete 83 missions).

HK Models to Release New Tool B-17G (Early Production) Kit

Hong Kong Models has announced the upcoming release of a new tool B-17G Flying Fortress (Early Production) model kit in 1/48 scale.

The offering (01F001) is the manufacturer’s first kit in 1/48 scale and is described as easy to build with nice surface detail, sensible part engineering, beautiful markings and fantastic box art by Piotr Forkasiewicz.

It appears that marking options will be included for two machines, including S/N 42-31353 of 322 BS/91 BG, and S/N 42-98008 of 834 BS, 486 BG. The kit will reportedly be released in October.
