North American F-86F Project Offered For Sale

An F-86F Project (S/N 52-4689 / N8630) has hit the market. The listing states (in part):

F-86F-30-NA S/N 52-4689 N8630 and nearly 1600 line items of equaling about 9000 items. The spares include 3 GE J-47 engine cores in cans, combustion burner cans, brakes, flight controls, drop tanks/pylons, a set of wings, actuators, valves, and much more. This F-86F has the desirable and larger “6-3” wing. It last served in the Bolivian Air Force. The aircraft has been stored in the museum’s hangars since it arrived in 1994. It is a VERY stock aircraft. There are no logbooks for the aircraft or engines and the aircraft does not have an airworthiness certificate.

BAC Jet Provost Mk. V N287XW has hit the market. The listing states (in part):

N287XW (Ser XW287) is the first pressurized Mk. 5 to roll off the assembly line at the British Air Corporation. It was used by the Royal Air Force as a jet trainer and as a demonstration aircraft. It flew as part of the “Red Pelican’s” Team. N287XW was imported into the USA in 1994 and then acquired by the current owner in July 2017. N287XW flew at Oshkosh 2018 with the RAF Spitfire & RAF DHC-1 Chipmunk as part of the RAF 100th Anniversary Showcase.

a “vintage, original” 1957 T-33 cockpit section has hit the market. The listing states (in part):

Selling Vintage Used 12 1/2 Ft. section of a 1957 T-33 USAF Aircraft. Serial Number 57-654-A, comes with ejection seat and custom made 4″ tubular cradle with double wheel caster. Can be rolled around by one person easily.

Two Examples of F+W C-3605 “Schlepp” Offered For Sale

Two examples of the F+W C-3605 “Schlepp” have been spotted for sale.

The F+W C-3605, nicknamed Schlepp (“Tug”) or “Alpine Anteater”, was a target towing aircraft operated by the Swiss Air Force from 1971–1987. The aircraft was developed during the latter half of the 1960s by the Swiss Federal Construction Works (Eidgenoessische Konstruktionswerkstaette) (EKW), renamed Farner Werke (F+W) in 1972, as a conversion of the existing C-3603 ground attack/target towing aircraft. Following a successful prototype conversion in 1968, 23 aircraft were converted between 1971–1973 with 2 still flying in private hands.

Available examples include S/N C-509 (HB-RDH) which is pictured above. The airframe reportedly has 2156.21 TTSN, while the Lycoming T-53-2-7 engine has 837.21 STO (Turbine Time: 837.21). It is painted in its original markings and has a stock military interior in “good condition.” The machine is located in Switzerland with pricing available upon request. First Trailer Released for Top Gun: Maverick [Video]

Today, Paramount Pictures released the first official trailer for the highly anticipated sequel to the 1986 film Top Gun. The new movie, entitled Top Gun: Maverick, is currently slated for release in 2020.

The trailer suggests that the new film will focus on the F-18, although there does appear to be a very quick shot of a P-51 Mustang as well – a development which will no doubt raise a lot of questions about how it will be included in the story line.
