Trumpeter/Hobby Boss whet the appetites of Avro Vulcan fans earlier today with the above photo, which has stoked excitement that a new kit representing the iconic Cold War delta wing bomber may be on the horizon.
Unfortunately, no information was included, so scale, kit contents, pricing and availability details are unknown at the moment.
Here’s hoping some light is shed on the mystery in the near future.

Flyzone has released their new C-47 and DC-3 micro RC model airplanes.
As previously reported, the models are said to offer smooth, stable flight characteristics and impressive micro scale looks. The C-47 variant is depicted in the colors of 42-100882 “Drag ’em Oot,” which participated in D-Day and now operates with Aero Legends of Kent, England. Meanwhile, the model representing the commercial DC-3 configuration is adorned with the colors of C/N 2268 (NC28391) of Eastern Air Lines.
Each model spans 23″ and is available in RTF (Ready to Fly) versions complete with a Tactic 4-channel SLT radio system with built-in battery charger, 1S LiPo flight battery and 5 AA batteries.
A new company called Striped Fighter is reportedly gearing up to release new tool model kits of the Messerschmitt Bf-108 B/D Taifun in 1/32 scale.
The aircraft was an all-metal four-seat sports/recreation aircraft introduced in 1935. It served with the Luftwaffe during WW2, acting mainly as a personnel transport and liaison aircraft.
Details on the new releases (SF998032/SF999032) are virtually nonexistent at this point, although Scalemates is reporting that the offerings will consist of plastic sprues, waterslide decals and clear parts. It also appears that the machine will be represented in both military and civilian markings.

Freightdog Models has released their new tool model kit of the Supermarine Type 327 British twin-engine fighter in 1/72 scale.
As previously reported, the Type 327 was a cannon-equipped concept aircraft designed to replace the Spitfire and Hurricane. However, it never entered production, in part because it was believed that other machines, such as the Westland Whirlwind, would likely enter service first.
The kit reportedly includes resin parts cast by CMR, vacform canopies by Rob Taurus and Fantasy Printshop screen printed decals. The result depicts a “what-if” operational version of the Type 327 based on a service entry of late 1942.
Freightdog states that the breakdown of the kit allows for “further developments along the lines of the Spitfire, with larger engines and increased size tail assembly to compensate, naval developments or perhaps a fighter bomber version, which will hopefully follow if sales of the initial boxing are promising.”

Brickmania is offering the first look at their upcoming, limited edition B-17G Flying Fortress LEGO model kit.
The representation of the iconic WW2 bomber includes 3,074 LEGO, and BrickArms elements, 10 custom-printed minifigures, 10 .50 caliber BrickArms machine guns mounted on moving turrets, moving flaps, ailerons, and rudder, retractable landing gear, four bombs with opening bomb bay doors, spinning propellers, a detailed interior, printed elements and a high-quality sticker sheet.
The kit is reportedly set for release in the second week of May, although it is now available for pre-order. All kits ordered during the pre-order period will reportedly come with boxes and a Certificate of Authentication signed by the model’s designer, Cody Osell.

Among Brickmania’s April releases is this 1/35 model of the MiG-3, a Soviet WW2 fighter introduced in 1941. The machine was intended to serve as an upgrade to the previous MiG-1 and although built in large quantities, it proved difficult to fly and inadequate in its role as a high-altitude fighter, which resulted in the type being retired from service prior to the end of the conflict.
The new, limited edition Brickmania model reportedly consists of 338 genuine new-condition LEGO elements and includes a custom-printed Soviet pilot minifigure, a high-quality sticker sheet, retractable landing gear and a detailed cockpit.

Freightdog Models has provided an update on their new tool model kit of the Supermarine Type 327 British twin-engine fighter.
”A little bit of progress on the Type 327 Shrew kit, partially built up example by Jen Wright that will hopefully be finished and on display at Cosford this weekend when the kit goes on sale. Pre-orders are welcome, I will only have a few with me. Retail price at the show will be £35.00, kit will be on the website next week.”

Special Hobby has released the first test build images showing their upcoming new tool representation of the Super Mystere SMB.2 French cold war-era fighter bomber in 1/72 scale.
The process first detailed a successful test fit of the moldings and a partial build illustrating the internal components of the fuselage. This was followed by a test build of the full airframe, which depicts an Israeli-modified Sa’ar version incorporating “a US ex-Skyhawk engine with much more rearward protruding jet engine nozzle.”
Given the fact that these testshots are of the first batch, the outcome is not that bad and the model is now being used in the time consuming process of correction report writing for the purpose of debugging the steel moulding tools.
As of this writing, a final release date has not yet been announced, although the company states that “it could be possible for the first examples to reach the market later this year.”

Since their first announcement at the E-Day International Scale Kit Exhibition back in October, Eduard has made progress on their upcoming new tool P-51D Mustang model kit in 1/48 scale.
The company recently provided an update stating that project designer Standa Archman has personally examined numerous Mustangs and is focusing on even the slightest details, spending two days working on the rivet lines alone.
A number of new renderings have also been released, additional examples of which can be seen below.
As of this writing, kit contents and availability details have not yet been reported.

Sword Models is reportedly working on a new tool example of the TBM-3W “Guppy” in 1/72 scale.
The machine, a conversion of the TBM-3 Avenger, was the first ship based airborne early warning control and relay platform with an APS-20 radar housed in a ventral radome. It appears that the kit will be available in two versions (SW72114 – TBM-3W “Guppy” and SW72115 – TBM-3W “Guppy” l´Aeronavale, Kon.Marine) and will include plastic sprues, waterslide decals and clear parts.
Pricing and a final release date have not yet been announced.
