Revell has released their new tool Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIB model kit in 1/32 scale.

The Level 5 kit (04968) includes 118 parts and is described as as “highly detailed” with a “a detailed cockpit and a rotating propeller.”

Clearprop Releases New Tool DH.9a / Polikarpov R-1 Advanced Model Kits

Clearprop Models has released their new tool Airco DH.9a (CP72027 / early version) and Polikarpov R-1 (CP72026) model kits in 1/72 scale.

The kits are designed for advanced modelers and feature six sprues (one clear), photoetched parts, a colored / detailed assembly guide and decals with marking options for five DH.9a machines and four examples of the Polikarpov R-1 (a redesigned version of the DH.9A which performed its maiden flight in 1923).

Airfix Releases New Tool 1/24 Spitfire Mk.IXc: “Extraordinary Detail”

Airfix has released their highly anticipated new tool Spitfire Mk.IXc model kit in 1/24 scale.

The kit (A17001) includes early and late intakes and breech blisters, clipped wings, two elevator types, and an intricately detailed cockpit. Five marking options are also included which allows builders “to choose between Johnnie Johnson’s mount or something completely different, such as the French Air Force Reconnaissance Spitfire.”

At the moment additional details are limited, with the kit (04968) being described only as “highly detailed” with a “a detailed cockpit and a rotating propeller.” It is slated for release in early December.

First Look: Test Frame For Airfix’s New 1/24 Spitfire Mk.IXc

Airfix has released new test frame images for their upcoming new tool Spitfire Mk.IXc in 1/24 scale.

The upcoming release (A17001) reportedly includes 433 parts with “lots of impressive detail” resulting in “a beautifully accurate large scale representation of this famous aeroplane.” Details are limited at the moment, but features include a detailed cockpit tub and three different wheel hub options and tip farings for the clipped wing variant of the Spitfire.

Copper State Models Shares New Renderings of 1/32 Bristol Scout

Copper State Models has released new renderings of their upcoming Bristol Scout model kit in 1/32 scale.

The company states that the model was developed with support and guidance of David Bremner, who constructed a flying reproduction of the type in the colors of his grandfather’s machine (1264). They plan to discuss the final version of this model with David to avoid any inaccuracies and note that the new images are not the final renders of the model.

Additional details are currently limited, although 1264 will be included as a livery in the upcoming release. If all goes well, the kit will be released this year. Click below to check out additional renderings.

Airfix Reveals Liveries For New Tool 1/48 Blackburn Buccaneer S.2

Airfix has revealed the liveries for their upcoming new tool Blackburn Buccaneer S.2 in 1/48 scale.

The kit (A12012) will reportedly include four marking options representing XN981 (No.809 Naval Air Squadron, HMS Ark Royal, August 1978), XV162 (No.801 Naval Air Squadron, HMS Hermes, circa 1969), XV340 (No.809 Naval Air Squadron, Royal Naval Air Station Lossiemouth, Scotland 1970) and XV867 (No.803 Naval Air Squadron, Royal Naval Air Station Lossiemouth, Scotland 1969).

The new offering follows the 2019 release of Airfix’s new tool Buccaneer in 1/72 scale (A06021). The kit contains plastic sprues and decals and is described as “highly detailed” with a 280mm wingspan.
