ORIGINAL WWI US AIR SERVICE JNH-4 CURTISS JENNY AIRCRAFT BLUEPRINT PLANS SET. Bought from local estate. Approx 17″ x 22″ book of blueprints. 19 pages. Has been stored folded, has wear and tear, losses, some pages better than others, some fragile.

1945 Grumman TBM-3-E Spotted For Sale

Grumman TBM-3-E S/N 53787 has been spotted for sale.

According to the listing, the machine has 3941.0 hrs AFTT and is powered by a Curtiss Wright R2600 with 461.5 hrs SMOH. It spins a Hamilton Standard propeller with 2 hrs SMOH. The listing also states:

In 2014 the Cactus Air Force Museum purchased the aircraft and flew it to their home base in Nevada. After arrival at the museum the following maintenance was performed on the aircraft by professional A&P mechanics: 1. Carburetor was overhauled. 2. L/H Magneto was overhauled. 3. Propeller Governor was overhauled. 4. All “hard” hydraulic lines were replaced. 5. All rubber hoses were replaced. 6. Correct seat was installed in bomb bay. 7. Hydraulic system was overhauled. 8. Wing folding components were installed. 9. Wing folding bushings, trunnions, and bearings were replaced. 10. Bomb bay doors were overhauled and activated. 11. Batteries were replaced with correct Alcon battery. 12. Turret was restored. 13. All flat plexiglass was replaced. 14. Dual flight controls installed.

The aircraft is reportedly in excellent condition mechanically, but could use a little cosmetic touch up and some TLC. it is currently being offered for for $285,000. Click here to check out the complete listing.

Airfix Releases New Tool Bristol Beaufort Mk.I Model Kit

Airfix has released their new tool Beaufort Mk.I model kit in 1/72 scale.

The kit (A04021) reportedly offers “stunning detail” and includes 159 parts with plastic sprues and decals. Two liveries are featured representing N1016, piloted by Flying Officer Kenneth Campbell VC of 22 Squadron in 1941 and L9866, flown by Sgt. John Bell Rutherford of 217 Squadron, RAF.

HK Releases New Tool 1/48 Lancaster B Mk.I Kit

Hong Kong Models has released their new Avro Lancaster Mk I model kit in 1/48 scale.

The kit (01F005) is described as “easy to build,” and while smaller than the company’s previous 1/32 Lancaster offerings (B Mk.I and B Mk.III Dambusters), it is said to maintain “excellent surface detail and good enough interior.”

The new tool kit measures 443 mm in length and spans 648 mm. It includes 362 parts and marking options for two machines: W4118 of 106 Squadron, RAF and R5868 of 467 Squadron RAAF.

MikroMir has announced the development of a new DH 112 Venom model kit in 1/48 scale.

A Loehle 5151 Mustang airframe and engine have been spotted for sale. The listing states (in part):

Up for auction one Loehle P5151 airframe built by master craftsman. Kit was donated to a local EAA chapter still in the crates. A member of the chapter assembled the kit to exacting standard’s. He is a 50 year woodworker and contractor. He had previously built a Falco. I purchased the kit from him. I also purchased a complete parts plane with a 2011 582 blue head “0” time with E gear box and electric start and with engine install kit. Second airframe is for parts only, as it is unairworthy. Have assembled the complete kit minus prop and covering materials. Extra fuel tanks and prop spinners. Have all plans and engine install manual and cd for optional fiberglass glass nose kit. Was a $2500.00 dollar option. the engine will need to be resealed due to age, engine is stall factory pickled never has been ran, have all parts to install, carb’s, manifolds, and exhaust all new.

Also have C85 engine to go with this plane that has been bumped up with more horsepower and has 99.6 hours since major overhaul. Comes with reconditioned carburetor. Also comes with a brand new box of complete install kit for C85. Also has large new tail wheel recently installed and has large balloon tires for on and off airport landings… Also have smaller tires that comes with it if you want to swap out. Comes with nice handheld radio, colored GPS, 2 place intercom, multi batteries, plugs and accessories for cross country flying. Has skylight, very clean, no corrasion, large breaks, new stainless steel exhaust, chrome valve covers and metal prop.
