Italeri Releases Battle of Britain Edition Heinkel He IIIH Model Kit

Italeri has re-released its 1/72 Heinkel He IIIH model kit with five new marking options commemorating the upcoming 80th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

The photos below suggest that the kit (1436) contains plastic and clear parts and liveries representing A1+DA of KG 53, G1+BH of KG 55, 1H+JA of KG 26, 1H+GP of KG 26, and 111 H-6, Sonderkommando Blaich. Click below to check them out along with a link to the Buy on eBay on eBay.

Extensively Restored Spitfire FR XVIIIe For Sale With Reduced Price

Vickers-Supermarine Spitfire FR XVIIIe G-BUOS (S/N SM845) is available for sale with a newly reduced price.

The aircraft was built in Chattis Hill, England in 1945 and delivered to 39 MU (Maintenance Unit) that same year, serving with both the RAF and Indian Air Force. It was one of eight such machines recovered by Duxford-based Ormond and Wensley Haydon-Baillie in 1977 and was later returned to the air by Historic Flying Ltd.

In 2010 the machine suffered a landing accident in Norway and was subsequently returned to the UK, where it received an extensive restoration to flying condition by Airframe Assemblies and Historic Flying Limited. It returned to the air in December 2013.

The airframe reportedly has 246.10 Hours Total Time Since New (71 Hours Since Restoration – 2013), while the Rolls Royce Griffon 65 engine has 71 Hours SMOH by Retro Track and Air. The machine is currently being offered with a reduced price of £1,450,000. Click here to check out the complete listing.

P-40, Among Most Original Remaining Examples, For Sale With Reduced Price

1941 Curtiss P-40E (S/N AK803) is available for sale with a newly reduced price.

The aircraft was delivered to the RCAF in October 1941 and based at an RCAF Station in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, where it saw use in anti-submarine patrols. Later, it was flown 4,000 miles to Annette Island, Alaska (setting a record in the process) before moving on to Boundary Bay near Vancouver, British Columbia, where it performed fighter affiliation work with B-24s and B-25s.

Following a landing accident on Vancouver Island, AK803 was sent to Coates Limited on Sea Island, where it was stripped to bare metal, polished and used as part of a War Bond drive at Brockton Point Oval in Vancouver. First Look: Arma’s New Tool FM-2 Wildcat Finished Build

Arma Hobby has released a new series of images showing a completed and finished version of their upcoming FM-2 Wildcat model kit in 1/72 scale.

As previously reported, the model will reportedly be released in three boxings, including an FM-2 Wildcat Expert Set (70031), Wildcat Mk VI Model Kit (70032) and FM-2 Wildcat Model Kit (70033). The project will also continue into the F4F-4 Wildcat version at some point.

A Gipsy Major 10 MK2 engine (S/N 11137) is available for sale. The listing states (in part):

We have to offer a Gipsy Major 10 MK2 engine removed from a Chipmunk in 1999 at 2420:05 HRS. There were no defects at time of removal and it has been inhibited and stored ever since. There are two log books with the engine that date back to 1977. There are no ancillaries that come with the engine but we do have cores available of most components should you require them.

Special Hobby to Release New Short Sunderland Mk III Model Kit

Special Hobby has announced the upcoming release of a new Short Sunderland Mk III model kit in 1/72 scale.

Details about the offering (SH72304), including contents and pricing, appear to be absent at the moment. However, the box art seen here suggests that a EK591, a Blackburn-built machine that operated with 422 Squadron RCAF, will be a marking option.

The kit is currently slated for release in June.

Roden Shares CAD Images, Sprue Photos of Upcoming 1/32 Stearman PT-17

Roden has announced the upcoming release of a new Boeing Stearman PT-17 Kaydet in 1/32 scale.

Details on the new kit (631), including pricing, full kit contents/liveries and an expected release date appear to be absent at the moment, although the company has released a series of CAD renderings and sprue shots, which can be seen below.

First Look: Box Contents for Eduard’s 1/32 BF 108 Model Kit

In May, Eduard is set to release a new Bf 108 Taifun model kit in 1/32 scale.

The ProfiPACK edition kit (3006) will reportedly contain Eduard sprues and decals, pre-painted PE parts a painting mask, a resin propeller and marking options for five machines.

Kermit Weeks Releases Second Part of “Kermie Cam” B-25 Tour [Video]

After releasing part 1 last week Fantasy of Flight owner Kermit Weeks has returned for the second installment of his Kermie Cam B-25 tour, which explores the whole aircraft interior, from tail to cockpit.

As previously reported, the machine (S/N 43-28059) was originally delivered in 1944 and was used for training during WW2 and for some time after the war ended. In the 1950s it was used for proficiency flying and transport duties. Following military service, it operated as a tanker fitted with a 1000 gallon tank and passed through the hands of several owners before being acquired by Weeks and restored.
