Eduard has released its new Hawker Tempest Mk. V “Weekend Edition” model kit in 1/48 scale.
The offering (84171) reportedly includes Eduard plastic parts and decals representing two aircraft that participated in Operation Overlord: JN751, flown by W/Cdr Roland P. Beamont, CO of No. 150 Wing and JN765 of No. 3 Squadron.

The kit (84171) focuses on aircraft that participated in Operation Overlord and includes two liveries representing JN751 flown by W/Cdr Roland P. Beamont (DSO, DFC & Bar) CO of No. 150 Wing and JN765 of No. 3 Squadron.

Eduard has announced the development of a 1/48 Tempest Mk II model kit which will be produced in partnership with Special Hobby.
The company states that the project follows on the previous Tempest Mk V release and includes a new fuselage and wing as well as some small parts. Two versions will be available representing the F Mk.2 and FB Mk.2. The kit will reportedly be released first in a Special Hobby boxing as part of their Hi Tech line. This will be followed some three months later with the release of two Profipack boxings beginning with the Tempest FB Mk.2.
