7/10 Scale Langhurst Stuka Reproduction For Sale: “Fully Airworthy”

A “one-of-a-kind, airworthy, two-seat 7/10 scale replica of the German WWII JU-87 Stuka dive bomber” has been spotted for sale. The listing states (in part):

…this aircraft was built by Louis Langhurst in the US over a 6-year period and completed in 1979. With no original blueprints available, Langhurst developed the plans for the replica based on one of the only two original, intact Stukas in existence… The Langhurst Stuka has completed conditional inspections and is fully airworthy. Currently, the aircraft is in need of an ADS-B. The aircraft is equipped with smoke oil generator and a working siren to simulate WW2 aerial action.

The aircraft (N87LL) reportedly has a 4130 steel tubular frame (648 TT) with riveted 2024-T3 aluminum skin. It is powered by a Lycoming GO-435-B (TT 648.32 hours / TBO 1200 hours). It is located in New Orleans, LA and is currently available for US $900,000 OBO. Click here to check out the listing.

Video Details Construction of Stunning, Scratch Built 1/16 Aluminum Stuka Model

YouTuber Guillermo Rojas Bazán (rojasbazan) has published the first in a series of videos detailing his amazing Ju87 B-1 Stuka model.

The model is described as “total scratch built aluminum construction” in 1/16 scale. The first part of the proposed three part series details the materials and construction of the model, with a close look at the stunning level of detail incorporated into the project.

Brickmania Releases 1/35 Ju87 G-2 Stuka LEGO Model Kit

Brickmania has released a new, limited edition 1/35 Ju87 G-2 Stuka LEGO model kit.

The offering (2221) represents the “tank buster” variant of the aircraft and includes 560 “new-condition” LEGO and BrickArms elements, a high-quality sticker sheet, and two German pilot minifigures.

The model is described as having been updated to include “key details seen on the real aircraft including longer wings, movable flaps, newly-designed canopy, and detailed cockpit.” Additional features reportedly include the type’s “less chunky” wheel covers, nose spiral, printed elements, engine exhaust pipes and two BrickArms short air-cooled barrels.

FHCAM Unveils Ju 87 Stuka Being Restored to Airworthy Condition [Video]

On Saturday, the Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum (FHCAM) in Everett, Washington unveiled a Junkers Ju 87 R-4 Stuka that is currently under restoration to flying condition.

The machine was built in 1941 and served with Lehrgeschwader 1 and Sturzkampfgeschwader 5 in northwest Russia. In April 1942 it crashed after being shot down by Soviet fighters during a mission to bomb Murmansk. Its remains were finally recovered in the 1990s and were displayed at the Deutsches Technikmuseum before being acquired by FHCAM.

Restoration began in 2013 and, when complete, it will be one of only three surviving Stukas left anywhere in the world and the only one in flying condition. The process is reportedly expected to last another 1.5 years.
