Model A-Powered Pietenpol Air Camper Project Offered For Sale

Please Note: This is an archived post. The information presented here may not be current and the associated listing may no longer be active.

A Model A-powered Pietenpol Air Camper project has hit the market. The listing states (in part):

I’m selling this project for a friend,he acquired this previously-flying Pietenpol Aircamper in March 2019 and has been working on it since then. He planned to complete the restoration, but priorities have changed. The airplane was damaged due to a landing incident. Most of all the hard work is done. Wings and cowling need to be painted. I have all the parts to finish this project. It has duel ignition Ford model A engine with less than 100 hrs TT. I Might consider selling the engine prop combo separate from the airframe. Selling this as a project/parts without airworthy certificate or FAA “N”. There is plenty of work left to become 51% builder for FAA certification.

The project is located in Millington, Illinois and is currently being offered for US $12,900, although offers are also being accepted. Click here to check out the complete listing on eBay.

Airfix Releases New Tool 1/48 DH Tiger Moth Model Kit

Airfix has released its new tool DH Tiger Moth model kit in 1/48 scale.

As previously reported, The kit (A04104) was developed to be “as accurate as possible,” utilizing original research data and engineering drawings as well as information gathered from an airworthy Tiger Moth at Headcorn Aerodrome. It also incorporates a “clever design feature” for builders looking to achieve maximum detail:

The wing internals have tiny and rather discrete indentations which serve as a guide to the placement of rigging holes, should you decide to go for total authenticity with your build, holes which are not visible if you elect not to rig the model.

The new model reportedly includes livery options representing K-2585/G-ANKT (formerly T6818), owned and operated by The Shuttleworth Collection and K-4259/G-ANMO, based at Headcorn Aerodrome.
