ICM Releases B-26K Counter Invader: “100% New Molds”

ICM has released their new B-26K Counter Invader model kit in 1/48 scale.

The offering (48279) was reportedly created with “100% new molds” and includes 344 details, including a detailed cockpit interior as well as 14 bombs and unguided rockets. The following liveries are also included:

KōTARE Models to Release First All New 1/32 Spitfire Mk.I Since 1967

The new KōTARE model company, which includes members of the now defunct Wingnut Wings, has announced their first kit: a Battle of Britain era Spitfire Mk.I in 1/32 scale.

The upcoming offering (K32001) is described as “the first all new 1/32 Battle of Britain era Spitfire Mk.I kitset since 1967.” It is currently slated for release “later in 2022” with pricing still to be announced.

In addition to the box art, the company has also released a few renderings which can be seen below.

Arma Hobby Releases Renderings for New Tool P-51B/C Kit

Arma Hobby has released a series of renderings for their upcoming new tool P-51B/C Mustang model kit in 1/72 scale.

The “Expert Set” offering (70038) will reportedly include parts to represent the P-51 B/C, Mustang Mk III and F6C. Features include plastic parts, photo etched parts, decals with six marking options (4x USAAF 2x RAF) and masks for canopy and wheels. At the moment it appears that there is no confirmed release date.

First Look: Sample Build of Airfix’s New Tool DH Vampire F.3

Airfix has released the first sample build photos of their upcoming new tool de Havilland Vampire F.3 in 1/48 scale.

As previously reported, the upcoming kit (A06107) is comprised of 123 parts with plastic sprues and three marking options representing D.H 100 Vampire F.3 P42408, D.H 100 Vampire F.3 No. 442 “City of Vancouver” and D.H 100 Vampire F.3 No. 601 Squadron Royal Auxiliary Air Force (shown here).

Eduard Releases New Tool, Dual Combo Sopwith Camel Kit

Eduard has released a new tool, dual combo Sopwith Camel model kit in 1/48 scale.

The limited edition offering, dubbed “Camel & Co.” (11151) includes Eduard plastic parts for two aircraft as well as pre-painted photo-etched details and a painting mask. Eduard decals with ten marking options (including two fictional Biggles liveries) are also included:

Airfix Releases New Tool DH Mosquito B Mk.XVI

Airfix has released their new tool DH Mosquito B Mk.XVI model kit in 1/72 scale.

The offering (A04023) represents the the final major bomber variant of the type and reportedly utilizes “all the latest design and manufacturing technologies available” to the team. It includes plastic sprues and decals with two marking options: B.XVI ML963/8K-K of RAF No.571 Squadron, No.8 (Pathfinder) Group and B.XVI ML957/HS-D, RAF No.109 Squadron.The kit includes 161 parts and has a wingspan of 229 mm.

LukGraph to Release 1/32 Albatros C.III Model Kit

LukGraph has released images of their forthcoming 1/32 Albatros C.III model kit, which is “dedicated to all fans of World War I aviation.”

Details are limited at this point, although the company previously noted that Erwin Böhme’s famous machine with two dragons will be featured on the cover box and that the kit’s Mercedes D III engine will also be made available separately.

First Look: Completed Sample Builds of Airfix’s New Tool DH Mosquito B Mk.XVI

Airfix has provided more exciting updates on their upcoming new tool DH Mosquito B Mk.XVI in 1/72 scale.

The latest news includes photos of full, completed sample builds “using both of the scheme options which will be included with the initial release from this tooling.” Liveries represent B.XVI ML963/8K-K of RAF No.571 Squadron, No.8 (Pathfinder) Group and B.XVI ML957/HS-D, RAF No.109 Squadron.

As previously reported, the kit (A04023) represents the the final major bomber variant of the type and reportedly utilizes “all the latest design and manufacturing technologies available” to the team. First Look: Engine / Nacelle Test Build for Revell’s New Tool SR-71

Revell has released the first test build photos for their upcoming new tool Gray Project SR-71 Blackbird in 1/48 scale.

The build follows the arrival of the first injection molding tool samples and the first series of photos focus on the J58 engines and the engine nacelles. The company states:

In some of the comments you have already asked whether the detailed engines can also be installed in the aircraft itself. Our designers did not plan this, but experienced model builders can of course accept this challenge and develop a solution themselves. The space would of course be available…

Airfix has released their new tool Avro Vulcan B.2 model kit in 1/72 scale.

The offering (A12011) reportedly includes “stunning detail” with LIDAR scanned shapes as well as an optimized sprue configuration, customizable build options and two piece wings “to simplify and fortify your build.” The kit contains plastic sprues and decals with marking options for two machines: Avro Vulcan B.Mk.2 XM594, The Scampton Wing and Avro Vulcan B.Mk.2 XM602, RAF No.12 Squadron.
