New Sensinich Wooden Propeller in 2019. Annual due May 31, 2020 but will be sold with a fresh annual inspection. Equipped with a Concord battery and electric starter and Communication radio. Modified Airdrome Aeroplanes Fokker D.VIII Offered For Sale

A modified 3/4 Airdrome Aeroplanes Fokker D.VIII has hit the market.

According to the listing, the machine “flies nice and pretty much hands off.” It reportedly received its airworthiness certificate on 1/23/2019 and is “stage 1 with 15 of 40 hours flown.” The machine is described as incorporating “all AN hardware” and “a new ground adjustable 3 blade Kiev propeller,” as well as additional modifications:

…modifications include adding brakes (didn’t come with any). Mountain bike brakes were used as they were suitable for the weight. Changed the axle lateral locating system from wire to sliding rod. The kits were originally built using a Rotax 503 engine which is no longer available, so a Hirth F23 engine (with the ok from the kit manufacturer was installed). It has same HP but is 10 lbs lighter. The engine had zero time. All aluminum panels are attached with screws and nut plates for serviceability instead of pop rivets. Aircraft avionics are per VFR with Mode C Garmin transponder and is set up for hand held radio.

Four Hawker Hunter Variants Offered For Sale

Four examples of the Hawker Hunter have been spotted for sale, including an F. Mk6A, T. Mk7, T. Mk8A, and T. Mk8C.

The F. Mk6A (ZU-AUJ / XE653) first flew in 1956 and reportedly spent nearly five years with 111 Squadron’s Black Arrows display team. It was one of 22 Hunters that performed the record-breaking formation loop at the 1958 Farnborough Air Show. According to the listing it is powered by Rolls Royce Avon Mk 207C – 15 stage axial flow turbojet rated at 10 200 pounds of thrust.

Me 109 Fuselage Jig and “Complete, Airworthy” Fuselage Offered For Sale

A Messerschmitt Me 109 fuselage assembly jig and a “complete, airworthy” fuselage are available for sale.

The “highly difficult to construct” steel fuselage jig was reportedly completed in 2017 to “exact factory specs” and can be used to assemble/build an Me109 fuselage from firewall to tail.

To-date, this jig has been used to complete a total of THREE airworthy fuselages, for both private and museum projects throughout the world. It was also constructed to be easily disassembled and transported.

The assembly jig is currently located in Canada and is being offered for US $18,999.99. The fuselage was reportedly constructed in the jig and is available separately. Additional details regarding its availability can be obtained upon request.

Rare 1942 Lockheed PV-1 Ventura Patrol Bomber Offered For Sale

A Lockheed PV-1 Ventura patrol bomber has hit the market.

The listing states that the machine was manufactured by Lockheed in 1942 and delivered to the US Navy that same year. It was then transferred to the RAF under a lend lease agreement to 23 Squadron SAAF in 1943. In August 1955, it was converted to perform VIP flight duties, flying then state president General Smuts. The aircraft was last flown in November 1958. In 1959, the machine was moved to the South African Airways Apprentice School. In 1989 it was again moved for display in a military memorial garden, where it remained until 2001.

The Lockheed was cleaned and repainted professionally 2010 and has unfortunately been exposed to the elements since 2010. The Lockheed when painted in 2010, was restored to its original war time colours as it would have been when it left the Lockheed Vega factory in 1942. Very few of these aircraft still remain. According to Warbird recorded, only 11 survive world wide. Only 2000 Lockheed PV-1 Ventura’s were manufactured in 1942. This is a good example ready for restoration.
