1952 Beechcraft C-45H S/N 52-10897 (N606PA) is available for sale with a newly reduced price.

The airframe reportedly has 8,875 hrs TTSN, while the two Pratt & Whitney R985 AN-1 engines have 475 hrs SMOH (58 hrs STOH) and 75 hrs SMOH. The aircraft is fitted with two Hamilton Standard propellers with 0 hrs since A.D. (4/20). The listing states (in part):

This aircraft has just completed an extensive annual which included the following: Wings recently pulled and epoxy primed internally, new leading edges replaced (removed de-ice boots). All new oil / fuel lines / scat tubing etc NOS control surfaces with fresh covering. Landing gear & wheels painted, seals were replaced as well. All new tires & tubes. All new wheel bearings and races. Needs radios/avionics and interior. Never a freighter.

1945 Piper J-3 Airframe For Sale: “Great Project, Did Not Crash”

A 1945 Piper J-3 Cub project has been spotted for sale. The listing states (in part):

This airframe had a major renovation in 1986 with Stitts PolyFiber and a partial rebuild and partial recover in 2003 as well. This aircraft was regularly rotated between floats, skis and wheel gear, but is being sold here with none of the above!! The complete airframe is included; wings, ailerons, complete fuselage, tail feathers, flying wires, lift and jury struts, cowling, engine mount and exhaust! This airplane did not crash!! While being stored outside for a time, the weight of a snowfall built up on the left wing and bent the lift strut, allowing the left wing to fall… The only damage to this entire airplane is to the left upper fuselage and the left wing… Sold with Canadian bill of sale, all logs since 1965 and folders full of receipts.

A 1951 Grumman HU-16B Albatross project has been spotted for sale. The listing states (in part):

Total time is 7316hrs. Engines TSOH is 241hrs, Props TSOH is LH 241, RH is 1.0hr. The Aircraft was an Air-force Triphibian, that was completely restored in the mid-90s. It was kept airworthy until 2002. It was repainted in 2005 and put into indoor storage in 2006. The wings got damaged during relocation, damage is shown in the pictures. The right engine is seized from rain water, could need some cylinders replaced. The flight controls need to be recovered. It has military avionics installed. It is the only Albatross that carried Watercraft under the wings. Since the Aircraft has not been operated in such a long time, there would be a considerable work to bring the aircraft back to airworthiness. It is not located at an Airport and will need to be relocated prior to flight.

1946 Piper Cub Project Spotted For Sale: “Hit a Fence, Cute, Cheap”

A 1946 Piper J3C-65 Cub project has been spotted for sale. The machine reportedly hit a fence and is described as “cute, cheap.” The listing states (in part):

The logs we have show the total time as of 1996 to be 1131 hours. At that time 7/96 the airplane was rebuilt and recovered after sitting for a long time. Extensive work was done to the airframe, wings, surfaces, gear, etc.etc. And all new fabric was applied to everything at that time. The A-65 Continental engine was also rebuilt at that time, with a standard limits crankshaft. Since that rebuild the aircraft has been used and inspected regularly and now has 1,565 hours total time!

The last takeoff did not go as planned. The engine ran up just fine, but during the takeoff roll the power and rpm seemed to decline, so even though the airplane had broken ground, the pilot slipped it back onto what was left of the grass runway. Without enough room to stop, the airplane impacted a wooden fence at the edge of the airport.

The listing includes a list of damage as well as a selection of photos. It also describes the machine as “a whole J3C-65, annual just expired 9/1/2020” and “not a rusty barn find.” It reportedly includes the logbooks for both engine and airframe (96-present) and the FAA bill of sale.
