Arma Hobby to Release Line of New Tool Grumman Wildcat Kits

Arma Hobby has announced that their first project for 2020 will be the release of new tool Grumman Wildcat model kits in 1/72 scale.

The offerings will reportedly be released in three boxings, including an FM-2 Wildcat Expert Set (70031), Wildcat Mk VI Model Kit (70032) and FM-2 Wildcat Model Kit (70033). The project will also continue into the F4F-4 Wildcat version at some point.

The Expert Set has an expected delivery time of February/March 2020, while the remaining two kits will reportedly be released early in the second quarter of 2020. Additional details regarding the kit contents and marking options are currently scarce, but will be “given soon.”

First Look: Arma Hobby’s Upcoming New Tool Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIc

Arma Hobby has released the first test shots of their upcoming new tool Hawker Hurricane Mk IIc model kit in 1/72 scale.

As previously reported, its design is said to maintain the rear fuselage shape, wings and tailplane of the company’s previous Mk I kit, with the rest being “an entirely new project.” This includes a longer fuselage before the cockpit, new fishtail exhaust, a new carburetor inlet, a new (longer) tropical filter cover, two variants of cannon barrels, a modified one-piece propeller design, enhanced landing gear bays with improved assembly of the undercarriage legs, and more. It appears that two livery options will also be included.

The offering is described as “almost ready to release” and will reportedly be available in three versions, including an Expert Set (70035) Model Kit (70036) and a Trop Model Kit (70037). Click below to check out additional images.

Arma Hobby Releases New Tool Yak-1b “Expert Set” Model Kit

Arma Hobby has released their new tool Yak-1b “Expert Set” model kit in 1/72 scale.

The kit (70027) reportedly includes new plastic parts (metal molds), photo-etched parts, canopy/wheel masks and marking options for six aircraft.

The company describes the kit as “the first long-run set of metal moulds manufactured since the 1980s” and notes that its design incorporated “the experience from the Hurricane Mk I, an aeroplane with similar construction, but a larger one than Yak. Arma Hobby has released their new tool Hawker Hurricane Mk I “expert set” model kit in 1/72 scale.

The kit (70019) reportedly includes plastic / photoetched parts, canopy / wheel masks and Techmod decals with four markings options representing P3059 and V7234 of 501 Squadron, R4175 of 303 Polish/RAF Squadron and 284 of 3 Squadron SAAF.

Arma Hobby Releases Test Build Images of New Tool Hawker Hurricane Kit

Arma Hobby has released the first test build images for their upcoming Hawker Hurricane Mk I model kit in 1/72 scale.

The model is said to boast “delicate panel lines” with “imitation of canvas on the fuselage and control surfaces.” Its surface is described as “rich with details like subtle round latches (dzuses) and raised rivets” while the cockpit offers a level of detail “proper for 1/48 scale.”

As previously noted, the kit will reportedly feature open or closed canopy display, an optional tropical version, two types of propeller blades, three types of spinners and photo etched details. The model will also be released in junior and expert editions, with the latter offering cockpit and wheel masks and “significant” photo-etched plates. The kit will reportedly feature a detailed interior and wheel bays, open or closed canopy display, an optional tropical version, two types of propeller blades, three types of spinners and photo etched details. The kit will also be released in junior and expert editions, with the latter offering cockpit and wheel masks and “significant” photo-etched plates. Decal options will reportedly include “Aces as Urbanowicz, Zumbach, Frantisek and others.”
