Eduard Releases Limited Edition, 1/32 “Legion Condor” Bf 109E Kit

Eduard has released a limited edition, 1/32 Bf 109E model kit with markings representing machines in Legion Condor service during the Spanish Civil War.

The offering (11105) reportedly includes Eduard sprues, pre-painted photo-etched set, painting mask and Cartograf marking options for five aircraft: Bf 109E-1 flown by Oblt. Siebelt Reents, CO of 1. Eduard Releases Royal Class Edition Tempest Mk.V Kit

Eduard has released its new Royal Class Edition Tempest Mk.V model kit in 1/48 scale.

The offering (R0018) reportedly includes Eduard (Dual Combo) plastic parts, 14 Cartograf decal options, pre-painted PE parts, painting mask and a number of resin parts, including undercarriage wheels, exhaust stacks and the cable cutter/shock absorber for TT.5 version. In addition, the kit includes a pictorial book that covers Tempest Mk.V service.

Airfix Releases Giant 1/24 F6F-5 Hellcat Model Kit

Today, Airfix released its highly anticipated, new tool F6F-5 Hellcat model kit in a massive 1/24 scale.

As previously reported, the model was originally announced at the Telford model show in November 2018. It reportedly includes over 600 parts with full cockpit detail; a complete, fully detailed radial engine, engine mount and all ancillaries; separate engine cowling and forward fuselage panels; detailed undercarriage, undercarriage bays and arrestor hook; fully detailed gun bays with complete machine guns and ammunition trays and realistic surface detailing showing rivets, fasteners and rippled stressed skin. Drop tanks (2 types), 250lb and 500lb bombs and rockets are also included.

The kit (A19004) is also touted as offering four liveries and options to display the wings extended or folded, the canopy open or closed and the landing gear and flaps either extended or retracted.

First Look: Airfix’s Upcoming Vickers Wellington GR Mk.VIII

Airfix has announced the upcoming release of a 1/72 Vickers Wellington GR Mk.VIII, a type which was “specifically built for Coastal Command duties and equipped with new equipment designed to detect and destroy U-Boats.”

The upcoming kit (A08020) is reportedly based on the new tool Wellington Mk.IA/C (A08019) released last year and will include additional part frames for the GR Mk.VIII variant. Newly released 3D CAD images show the installation of some of the additional parts including Leigh Lights – which are described as “a fascinating aspect of the air war during WWII and one which made a significant contribution to the Battle of the Atlantic.”

Two different versions of the variant can be represented, including HX379 of 172 Squadron, which includes a “the full antenna array which was a feature of the ASV Mk.II radar equipment installation and has the front turret removed and glazed over.” The second livery option represents HX485 of 38 Squadron, which displays the full ASV Mk.II radar antenna array but retains its front turret.

Airfix Releases New Tool Spitfire FR Mk.XIV Model Kit

Airfix has released its new tool Spitfire FR Mk.XIV model kit in 1/48 scale.

The kit (A05135) was developed with the aid of “a vast collection of research materials, original drawings and photographs relating to Spitfire production” as well as computer base model shape data from their Spitfire Mk.1 kit released in 2014.

Two liveries are included which represent TZ112 and NH902 VC-P ‘Lazy Lady V’, flown by Squadron Leader James Bernard Prendergast of 414 Squadron, RCAF.

Eduard Releases New Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8/R2 Model Kit

Eduard has released its New Generation ProfiPACK edition Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8/R2 model kit in 1/48 scale.

The kit (82145) reportedly includes Eduard sprues, pre-painted photoetched parts, a painting mask and Eduard decals with marking options for five aircraft. Liveries represent W. Nr. 682929 of 5./JG301 as well as aircraft flown by Adalbert Koch of 6./JG 300, Karl Spenst, 8./ JG 300, Gerhard Schröder of II.(Sturm)/JG 4 and Hans Weik of 10.(Sturm)/ JG 3.

Kineticmodel Surprise Announcement: New Tool F-104 Starfighter Kit

Kineticmodel has made a surprise announcement that a new tool 1/48 F-104G Starfighter model kit is on its way.

The offering (48083) will reportedly include the avionics bay, C-2/GQ-7A ejection seat, radar and a detailed landing gear bay. The company states that the kit will be released as part of the “Kinetic Gold” series, which sees all tooling quality/design based on the new standard. In addition, the detail surface will make use the mirror EDM system to represent a shined, polished, bare metal surface.

Motion RC Releases New FlightLine 850mm Fw 190 D-9 Dora RC Model

Motion RC has announced the release of a new FlightLine 850mm (33″) Fw 190 D-9 Dora PNP RC model as part of their Pocket Warbird Series.

The model (FLW102P) comes with motor, ESC and servos pre-installed and is reportedly compatible with both 3S and 4S LiPo batteries without any modifications. Its list of features includes “beginner-friendly wing loading, upgrade-friendly components and layout, durable structural enhancements, skid-proof underside covering and screw-on one-piece wing.”

Now Available: HK Models Massive 1/32 Lancaster B Mk.III Dambusters Kit

HK Models has released their massive 1/32 Avro Lancaster B Mk.III Dambusters model kit.

As previously reported, the new kit follows HK’s 1/32 Lancaster B Mk.I kit released last year and commemorates the 76th anniversary of the Dambusters raid.

It appears that the kit includes only one livery representing ED932/AJ-G of 617 Squadron.
