Eduard Releases New Tool, Limited Edition, Dual Combo Spitfire Mk.1 Kit

Eduard has released its new tool Spitfire Mk.1 kit in 1/48 scale.

The new offering, dubbed “The Spitfire Story” (11143) is a limited edition “dual combo” kit focused on machines from the type’s introduction into service to the end of Battle of the Britain. It reportedly includes two sets of Eduard plastic parts to build two models with different fuselage options. Also included are pre-painted photo-etched parts, a painting mask and a resin figure of Douglas Bader.

A whopping 10 marking options are also included:

Special Hobby Shares Development Update on 1/32 Westland Whirlwind

Special Hobby has shared a new update on the development of their upcoming Westland Whirlwind Mk.1 model kit in 1/32 scale.

The kit’s (SH32047) development has been talked about for some time in the modeling community and its release is anxiously awaited. Previous updates have focused on the the molds, which are reportedly being created using an electroplating process sometimes also known as galvanic deposition, as well as test fittings of parts.

The newly released renderings detail the cockpit, which will reportedly be “very detailed.” According to the company, the kit will be plastic, with the gold parts being PE fret. Click below to see more.

Dora Wings To Release New Westland Lysander Mk III Model Kit

Dora Wings is slated to release a new Westland Lysander Mk.III model kit in 1/72 scale.

The upcoming release (DR72024) is reportedly based on the company’s new tool Lysander Mk.III SD kit (DW72023) released in 2019 and includes “one new form.” Liveries have also been announced, the profiles for which can be seen below.

The kit is currently slated for release in September.

Design Update: Wingsy Kits’ Upcoming Bf 109E Model

Wingsy Kits has been in the process of designing a new Bf 109E model kit in 1/48 scale.

In their latest update, the company has announced the completion of work on the “exterior and hull parts.” The cockpit details are apparently next in line before molds are produced.

At the moment, additional details such as kit contents, liveries, pricing and an expected release date have not been announced, although a number of new renderings have been released, additional examples of which can be seen below.

Revell to Release New Beaufighter Night Fighter Model Kit

In August, Revell is slated to release a new night fighter version of the Bristol Beaufighter in 1/48 scale.

The Beaufighter IF was one of the first aircraft to be equipped with radar for night hunting. Hidden in their own bomber stream, they waited for the rear-facing radar to come up attacking enemy night fighters, only to pounce on them.

The “Level 5” kit (03854) is reportedly a updated version of the new tool Beaufighter (03943) released in 2018 and will reportedly include new parts, a cockpit with consoles and instrument panel, separate rudder, V-tail with separate elevators, detailed Hercules engines and separate ailerons and flaps.

Dora Wings Releases New Tool P-43 Lancer Model Kit

Dora Wings has released their new tool P-43 Lancer model kit in 1/48 scale.

It appears that the kit (DW48029) contains plastic and photo-etched parts as well as marking options for four machines, including YP-43 (1941), P-43A S/N 40-2920 of 55 Pursuit Group, P-43A S/N 41-31496 and P-43A S/N 41-6721.

HK Models To Release 1/32 Avro Lancaster B Mk.1 Nose Art Kit

HK Models has announced the upcoming release of a new Avro Lancaster B Mk.1 Nose Art Kit in 1/32 scale.

The kit (01E033) reportedly contains 171 parts and measures 218mm in length, 68.2mm wide and 120mm tall. It appears that four marking options are offered representing W4783/AR-G of 460 Squadron, RF128/QB-V of 424 Squadron, and two representations of R5868: OL-Q of 83 Squadron RAF and PO-S 467 Squadron RAAF. HK has previously released full Lancaster Mk.I and Lancaster B Mk.III “Dambuster” kits, both in 1/32 scale.

Special Hobby to Release SB2A-4 Buccaneer Model Kit

Special Hobby has announced the upcoming release of a Brewster SB2A-4 Buccaneer model kit in 1/72 scale.

The offering (SH72303) will reportedly boast “resin parts and etches” as well as marking options for three aircraft serving with the US Marines representing both the two and three-color schemes. One fictious livery is also included depicting a Buccaneer as it might have appeared had it been acquired by the Dutch.

Eduard Releases Morane Saulnier Type N Model Kit

Eduard has re-released its 1/48 Morane Saulnier Type N ProfiPACK edition model kit with new decals.

The offering (8095) reportedly includes Eduard plastic parts and decals, pre-painted photo-etched parts and a painting mask. Six marking options are also included representing MS398, flown by Adj. Jean Marie Dominique Navarre of Escadrille MS 12; MS394, probably from Escadrille MS.12; A.173, flown by 2/Lt. Beauchamp N. Wainwright of 60 Squadron RFC; A.178, flown by Lt. Tone H. P. Bayetto of 24 Squadron RFC; A.122, flown by Lt. Simpson of 60 Squadron RFC and a Type N flown by Sergt. Jean Chaput, Escadrille N 31.

First Look: Test Build of MENG’s Upcoming 1/32 Fokker F.1/Dr.1 Model Kit

MENG has released a number of photos showing a test build of its upcoming Fokker F.1/Dr.1 model kit in 1/32 scale.

As previously reported, The offering (QS-002) is described as “a carefully studied, large scale” model kit “with precise details,” boasting “accurate exteriors, wing structure and realistic fabric covering.” Additional features reportedly include “completely replicated” cockpit interior and engine construction, PE cooling jackets and sights for the machine guns.

Three build options are included, allowing a representation of the Fokker F.1, Dr.1 (Early Production) or Dr.1 (Late Production). The rudder and ailerons can also be installed at selected angles. As for livery options, it has only been reported that von Richthofen’s machine is included.

According to Scalemates, the model is a rebox of Wingnut Wings’ new tool F.1/Dr.1 offering which, as of this writing, is listed as “in development.” The MENG kit will reportedly be available “soon.”
