Hawker Sea Fury FB11 For Sale: “Airframe Very Complete, Under Restoration”

A 1950 Hawker Sea Fury FB11 has hit the market. The machine has been under restoration by Pacific Fighters of Idaho Falls, ID and the airframe is described as “very complete.” It is powered by a Wright R-3350-26W overhauled by N.A.S. Alameda.

Restoration work completed: R-3350 Engine Conversion; Rear jump seat conversion – by Sanders Aircraft Technologies; Fuselage restored; Tailcone restored; Wings – rebuild 90% completed; Landing gear rebuilt; F-102 Wheels and Brakes; Gear doors – need reskinning; Many parts are either new or overhauled to 0 time condition. History: Hawker Sea Fury WN???, construction number 41H/656822 was built as a Mk II for the Royal Navy. Its service history in the Royal Navy isn’t known at this time. In the 1950’s it was part of the sale to Iraq and became one of the Baghdad Fury’s. This Sea Fury was recovered from the Iraqi dessert by Ed Jurist and David Tallichet in 1979.

The intended powerplant is either a 200hp ranger in-line 6 cylinder engine or an LS series auto engine conversion with PSRU. Major components completed. Aircraft is currently disassembled with fuselage and wing on separate rolling work stands… Being sold as a project, aircraft parts, not an airworthy aircraft. With dedication, you could complete this project as the ‘owner builder’ and fly this aircraft to Oshkosh next year. Grand Champion Award Winning P-51 Offered For Sale

P-51 S/N 44-74813 (N151BW) has been spotted for sale. The machine is described as a grand champion award winner (Oshkosh 2002) which is very well cared for and flown very little, but regularly, since restoration. The listing states (in part):

385 Hrs since Midwest Aero restoration and Vintage V-12 Overhaul. 50 Hrs since Roush Heads & Banks. All the goodies! Spitfire Mirrors, Guns, Ammo-belts, Drop-tanks, Gunsight, very stock panel, New Cuffs on Prop in’17. Pre-oiler, spin-on oil filters, Rotax Mags, Hinz filter, Shadin, Looks fantastic!

The airframe reportedly has 1500 hrs TT (estimated) and is equipped with a Packard/Rolls Royce V-1650-7 engine (S/N v-333953) and a Hamilton Standard 25D-50 Hub (S/N 150699) with 7523A-24 blades. A 1946 Luscombe 8A “refurbished project airframe” has been spotted for sale. The listing states (in part):

Metal fuselage, tail feathers and ailerons, with fabric covered wings with metal spars. This aircraft has several very desireable mods: The fuselage tank has been remved and replaced with 12.5 gallon tanks in each wing. Paperwork has been filed and accepted for a 100 h.p. 0-200 engine conversion ( engine not included here). Cleveland wheels and disc brakes have been fitted. Shoulder harnesses have been fitted. All of the paperwork is in excellent condition and the logbooks are complete from day 1 to the last annual in september of 2008… The airframe is undamaged!… This is a ready to finish up and paint project, not a time intensive job.

Pretty and clean 1948 Cessna 170. 5685 TT 1710 SMOH. Wings and fuselage were completely stripped of multiple layers of aged paint and old fabric, cleaned up as needed, and then new fabric and paint completed in 2018. While doing all the work on the outside we added new interior panels, carpets, headliner, and seats. KX 155 Nav/Comm, Narco AT 50A Transponder, Uavonix Skybeacon ADS-B. Mods include: PPonk gear box with C-180 legs finished with Alaska Bushwheels wheels and brakes and 8.00 tires. VG’s, Spin-on oil filter with quick drain oil sump, new engine driven fuel pump. Added inline fuel tank on pilot side bringing total fuel from 35 on the original 170 up to 46 total gallons. New glass all around including 1 piece windshield. Auto fuel STC. Compressions at annual Dec ’20: 78/78/78/74/74/78. This plane has been my baby for nearly 15 years, and I am sad to sell but getting something bigger for bigger family use. Will deliver anywhere in North America for the cost of fuel and return ticket. Can also provide endorsement for tailwheel transition for a pilot who is a current and capable flyer.

Hawker Hurricane Aft Fuselage, Empennage Offered For Sale

A Hawker Hurricane aft fuselage / empennage has been spotted for sale. The listing states (in part):

Here we have a replica Hawker Hurricane rear fuselage, rear main plane and fin for sale. Built by RRS Aviation, Hawkins, Texas. It was part of 2 Hurricanes that were built using original parts from 5 other aircraft which were purchased from Jack Arnold in Canada. Displayed at the Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio as Z3174/XRB it was sent Hawker Restorations who rebuilt the aircraft using original parts. At this stage the replica rear fuselage, fin and mainplane were removed. The completed aircraft was returned to the US. Internally built from square welded tubing the metal from is covered with wooden stringers and formers and which in turn are covered with a doped and painted Irish linen to form the skin as shown. This rear section was built to be functional and there are various pulleys which are internally mounted. Included are also several fuselage panels and 2 large wing sections.

The section is currently on display at the Fenland Aviation Museum near Wisbech, UK and is available for £3,600. Click here to check out the complete listing on eBay.
