“Always” PBY-5A Catalina Offered For Sale

Consolidated Vultee PBY-5A Catalina N9505C (S/N 34027) has hit the market.

The aircraft, which was reportedly used in the movie Always, was modified to a Super Cat configuration with Wright R-2600 engines. The airframe is said to have amassed a total time of 4,667 hrs since new, while the engines have 464 and 890 hrs SMOH. The Hamilton Standard 23E50 props are described as having 699 and 822 hrs SMOH.

The machine lacks avionics and is reportedly in need of restoration, although it “could be made ferriable.” The aircraft is currently located in Ephrata, WA and is being offered for $275,000. Click here to check out the complete listing.

T-28C Trojan “Top Banana” Offered For Sale

Julie Clark’s “Top Banana” T-28C Trojan N128JC (S/N 140549) has hit the market.

The aircraft reportedly received a ground up restoration in 1992 and has had the same owner for 19 years. The airframe is said to have amassed a total time of 9,847 hours, while the Wright Cyclone R-1820-86B has 589 hrs SMOH by by Air Power.

The machine reportedly includes an avionics package as well as a lengthy list of additional equipment, including custom aluminum storage bins in aft fuselage, Oregon Aero custom seat cushions and a Hooker harness in both cockpits.

P-51 “Frances Dell” Offered For Sale

P-51 S/N 44-13903 “Frances Dell” is on the market.

Restoration of the machine (formerly “Glamorous Gal” as seen above) was reportedly completed by Midwest Aero Restorations in the Fall of 2014, during which “everything overhauled/repaired/fixed/improved with all new wires, cables, phenolics. etc.” The airframe is said to have a total time of 1,700 hrs while the Packard V-1650-7 engine has 135 hrs SMOH. The propeller is touted as having been statically and dynamically balanced with new Avia paddle blades, all of which have 135 hrs SMOH.

The machine is described as “really clean,” having been “flown respectfully and kept in a heated hangar.” It is said to include all documentation and 337 forms and has an annual that is good through October 2018.

TB-25N “Panchito” Offered For Sale

TB-25N “Panchito” has hit the market.

The aircraft (S/N 44-30734) is touted as “one of the most well-known B-25 aircraft in the world,” serving as “lead aircraft at many events celebrating the Doolittle Raiders in the past 10 years, Superbowl XXXIX, Indy 500, Preakness Race and NASCAR races.”

The airframe has reportedly amassed a total time of 2950 hrs since “total restoration” while the two Wright R-2600-35 engines have accumulated 400 hrs each SMOH by JRS and Cascade Engine Service. The machine is said to include an avionics package as well as recent brakes, a Norden bomb sight, Martin top turret, 50 caliber nose (3), waist (2) and tail (2) guns, four fuselage pack guns with rare original metal enclosures, bombs and a removable tail gunner enclosure for photography.

Airworthy, Full-Scale Fokker Dr.1, Sopwith Camel and 80% Albatros D.Va Offered For Sale

Full-scale, airworthy reproductions of the legendary Fokker Dr.1 and Sopwith Camel have hit the market, along with an 80% scale example of the Albatros D.Va.

The Dr.1 was reportedly built from Ron Sands plans and is powered by a Lycoming O-320 engine. The airframe is said to have amassed a total time of 294 hours total time, while the engine has 294 hours SMOH. The machine, which is described as US registered and currently flying in Florida, is being offered for $110,000, although offers are also being accepted. The Camel was reportedly constructed in 1993 and is powered by a Warner Super Scarab radial engine. It is described as having new exhaust, starter, brakes, tailwheel steering and radio and is flown regularly off pavement and grass. The airframe is said to have a total time of 391 hours while the engine has 25 hours SMOH. Like the triplane, the Camel is said to be US registered and currently flying in Florida. North American SNJ-4 N7692Z (S/N 889831) has hit the market.

The aircraft was formerly operated by the South African Air Force and is said to have had one U.S. owner for 20 years. The airframe has reportedly amassed 7242 hours since new, while the engine has acquired 479 hours SMOH by Tulsa Aircraft in 2003.

The machine is said to be equipped with an avionics package as well as original SAAF logs, two Strong parachutes and much more. The elevators were reportedly recovered in 2009 and the aileron and rudder fabric is said to be in excellent condition.

RAF’s First Folland Gnat T.Mk1 Offered For Sale

The airframe of Folland Gnat T.Mk1 FL.514/XM709 has hit the market.

The machine is said to be a pre-production aircraft that first flew in 1962 and went on to become the first T.Mk1 to enter service with the RAF. The machine is reportedly equipped with its wing, both seats and most instruments, although it lacks an engine. It is said to be in “decent shape” and ideal for a post guard or ad platform.

Restored Vickers-Supermarine Seafire PP972 Offered For Sale

Vickers-Supermarine 358 Seafire LF.IIIC PP972/G-BUAR has hit the market.

The aircraft is said to be one of only three remaining airworthy Seafires in the world and the only Merlin-powered Seafire to see combat. It was originally built under contract by Westland Aircraft, Ltd. in 1944 and was assigned to 809 (Naval) Squadron, which was deployed to the Far East and participated in Operations Dracula, Bishop, Balsam and Zipper.

In 1946 the machine was assigned to 767 (Naval) Squadron, part of No.1 Operational Flying School at RNAS Easthaven, before being transferred to the French Navy, where it served with No.1 Flottille at Hyeres.

The aircraft was reportedly restored to airworthy condition by Air Leasing, Ltd. from 2012-2015 and now represents a Seafire of 880 (Naval) Squadron Serving aboard HMS Implacable. The airframe, engine and propeller are said to have amassed a total of 15 hours since ground-up professional restoration/overhaul.

World’s Only Privately Owned F-4 Phantom Capable of Flight Offered For Sale

A 1959 McDonnell F4H-1F Phantom II touted as the world’s only privately owned F-4 capable of flight has hit the market.

The machine S/N 150310 (N815WF) was delivered to the Navy in 1959 as the 11th pre-production example of the type. In 1961 it demonstrated its capabilities by carrying 22 Mk83 500lb bombs which were dropped at a range at Fort Bragg, North Carolina – a feat that is said to have been the deciding factor in the USAF’s decision to order the aircraft. In 1961 it became one of three F-4’s to commemorate the 50th anniversary of U.S. Naval Aviation. It was retired in 1964 after 461 hrs of service.

150310 has been under restoration for the past decade by Aircraft Restoration Services, LLC located at the French Valley Airport in California and the process is said to be 80-85% complete. The airframe has reportedly undergone a complete IRAN per U.S. Navy standards and has also been completely rewired. Additional work has included overhauling components to 0 time condition, rebuilding the fuel system with new fuel cells, rebuilding all hydraulics with stainless steel lines, installing new wheels and brakes and overhauling all three hydraulic systems as well as two pneumatic systems.

Blackburn (Fairey) Swordfish C-GEVS Offered For Sale

Blackburn (Fairey) Swordfish Mk II S/N HS554 (C-GEVS) has hit the market.

The aircraft was constructed by the Blackburn Aircraft Co. in 1942 and served with the Royal Navy and Royal Canadian Navy before being retired in 1946. In the past it was part of the Ernie Simmons collection in Tillsonburg, ON and is currently with Vintage Wings of Canada.

The airframe has reportedly amassed 148 hrs since restoration by Bob Spence in 1992, while the Bristol Pegasus Model 30 engine has acquired 23.5 hrs SMOH by Deltair in 2011.
