7/8 Circa Reproductions Nieuport 17 For Sale

A 7/8 scale Nieuport 17 has been spotted for sale. The listing states (in part):

For sale, a Circa Reproductions C1 Nieuport 17, Canadian registration C-IRPV. 55 hours TT engine and airframe. Engine is a 65 HP VW built to Great Plains plans with vertex mag and rotec fuel injection (currently being installed). Full builders logs available on request.

Authentic FULL SCALE Nieuport 17 for sale. AP/IA built. Wooden wings, 4130 tubular steel fuselage. 68 hours TT. Rotec R3600 150hp motor with 19 hours TT since new. Culver mahogany 90″ prop. Adorned in the colors of Lafayette Escadrille ace American Raoul Lufbery. Reproduction Vickers machine gun. Equipped with interchangeable tailwheel and skid. Built from Redfern, Aermacchi and Rozendaal drawings. Radio/headgear receptacle. First flown in 2004.

“Full-Size” Nieuport 17 Static Display Reproduction Offered For Sale

A “full-size” Nieuport 17 static reproduction has hit the market. The listing states:

If you need a cool WW1 fighter to hang from the ceiling of your bar or restaurant (or your living room), this is the plane for you. Full-size French Nieuport 17 replica, ready to hang. Includes with replica Le Rhone rotary engine and wooden prop, this aircraft weighs only 370 pounds! Hand-formed aluminum cowl, British markings, Vickers machine gun (non-firing, of course). Built by an artist, it includes a great piece of original, hand-painted art on the fuselage. Includes simulated (and real) “battle damage”. NON AIRWORTHY, but completely DISPLAY WORTHY.

Copper State Models Releases New 1/32 Nieuport 17 Model Kits

Copper State Models has announced the release of two new 1/32 Nieuport 17 model kits representing both early and late variants of the type.

Each kit reportedly includes plastic frets, photo etched parts, color instructions, film for windscreen and Cartograf decals with marking options for four machines.

Shipping will reportedly take place after November 20.

Nieuport 17 Reproduction Built For “Flyboys” Movie Will Need New Home

While searching for Spitfire parts in a storage container, Gateguards – UK came upon a Nieuport 17 reproduction that has been deemed “surplus to requirements” and will require a new home.

The aircraft was reportedly built for the 2006 film Flyboys and is believed to be full-scale. It is said to employ wood and fabric construction and has been described as “quite well built and not just a backstage replica.”

It remains to be seen whether the reproduction will be offered for sale. Click below to check out the full announcement.
