“Full Dual Control” Yak 9-UM For Sale With Reduced Price

1997 YAK 9-UM S/N 0470404 (N6373Y) is available for sale with a newly reduced price.

The airframe reportedly has 603 hrs TTSN while the Allison V-1710-111 engine has 300 hrs SMOH by Vintage V-12s. The machine is described as two-place with full dual controls, custom radiator, upgraded landing gear and doors and an avionics package which includes Garmin SL40 Comm, Garmin transponder and Garmin 296 GPS.

A spares package is also available for an additional cost which reportedly includes props, extra radiator and oil coolers, wheels and brakes, hardware, Allison engine (core) and custom tools.

Kermit Weeks Films “Mystery Container Unboxing” at Fantasy of Flight

Kermit Weeks has released a video documenting the unboxing of a “mystery” shipping container that he has been waiting over a year to receive.

As we see, the container is filled with a variety of components, and Kermit challenges us to guess the plane before he reveals its identity (which occurs around the 9 minute mark).

Silver Wings To Release Limited Edition 1/32 Yak 9 Model Kit

Silver Wings has announced the upcoming release of a limited edition Yak 9 M/T resin model kit in 1/32 scale.

Details about the kit are currently scarce, although it will reportedly be available some time this month with pre-orders launching “soon.” The company states “Price will go together with the announcement and possibility of placing a pre-order. For this sort of kits it typically is around 130-140 EUR including shipping worldwide.”
