The machine is reportedly available for sale or trade, with fuselage, tailcone and dog house rebuilt and “tons of NOS and overhauled parts.”

Eduard has offered new details on their upcoming new tool P-51 Mustang model kit in 1/48 scale.
Originally announced at the E-Day International Scale Kit Exhibition back in October 2017, the kit is now said to be “progressing quickly forwards” with the first test shots expected to be available in the spring. A reduced scale P-51 has hit the market. The listing states (in part):
The plane is made from construction of metal and plywood and canvas. Engines equipped with a Rotax 582 (65PS) 2 tact, control system, desktop instruments, armchair, brakes. Painted in accordance with the original designations of U.S.-Army of the period. The plane has no documentation release for flights. Caution !!! The auction applies to the replica without a Rotax 582 engine. The engine for an additional fee of GBP 3000.

P-51D Mustang “The Shark” (S/N 44-73877 / G-SHWN) has hit the market. The listing states (in part):
The Shark was built by North American Aviation in July 1945 and served with the USAAF at several training units before being transferred to the Canadian Airforce where it served from 1951 – 1959. It was bought by a civil owner in 1980 and restored as ‘Old Crow’
The machine currently wears the colors of 112 Squadron RAF. It is reportedly powered by a Packard Merlin V12 – V-1650-7 which has flown 105 hours since overhaul by Eye Tech Engineering Ltd. The airframe has reportedly flown a total of 1562 hours since overhaul in the US.

Hangar 9 has announced the upcoming release of a P-51D Mustang 20cc, 69.5″ ARF (Almost-Ready-to-Fly) RC model.
The aircraft (HAN2820) is described as “expertly constructed” from lightweight, laser-cut balsa and plywood with “finely detailed, satin-finish covering” offering “scale nomenclature, panel lines, and more.” Additional features reportedly include a detailed cockpit with 3D instrument panel, an “expertly painted” pilot bust, retract ready fixed landing gear with 4″ wheels / realistic shock-absorbing struts, functional flaps, scale control surface hinge lines, gear doors, wing guns and antenna, optional-use wing pylons with removable drop tanks and two marking options representing “Geraldine” or “Sky Bouncer.”
The model is currently available for pre-order with the next shipment expected in early October.

The USAF Museum in Dayton, Ohio recently moved some of its iconic WW2 warbirds back into position after they were temporarily relocated to provide room for the Memphis Belle exhibit opening back in May. These included the P-51, P-47, P-38 and A-36.
In the process, opportunities were provided to get a better look at the aircraft, resulting in a new series videos that can be seen below.

A W.A.R. P-51 has hit the market.
The airframe is said to be “almost complete” and only in need of “finishing touches to the canopy, interior, and control surfaces.” It is described as including a new uncut canopy, a full set of plans, hydraulic retracts and Engine Information System Dash.

The Australian-built example of the P-51D (A68-110), was delivered to the RAAF in 1948 and saw little service prior to being decommissioned in 1957. After being sold, it sat for nearly four decades before becoming the focus of a seven-year restoration by Sandora Aviation in North Brisbane, during which it was converted to a two-seat configuration. In 2002 it returned to the air and is now the the centerpiece of the Caboolture Warplane Museum, providing regular flight experiences with the nonprofit Mustang Flights Australia while also supporting local war service commemorations. Earlier today, Complete Aircraft Care of Caboolture, Queensland reported that Mustang Flight Australia’s CA-18 Mk. 21 Mustang (A68-110) had performed its first post-overhaul flight.
As previously reported, the aircraft, an Australian-built example of the P-51D, was delivered to the RAAF in 1948 and saw little service prior to being decommissioned in 1957. After being sold, it sat for nearly four decades before becoming the focus of a seven-year restoration by Sandora Aviation in North Brisbane, during which it was converted to a two-seat configuration. In 2002 it returned to the air and is now the the centerpiece of the Caboolture Warplane Museum, providing regular flight experiences with the nonprofit Mustang Flights Australia while also supporting local war service commemorations.
The recent rebuild reportedly brought the aircraft to “better than original” condition while keeping it as historically correct as it was when it came off the production line. The exacting work even included minor changes to the livery to make it a better representation of A68-769 “Snifter,” a machine that served with 82 Squadron in Japan and 77 Squadron in Korea.
The machine’s return to flight reportedly occurred on Monday, and is briefly shown in the teaser video below.
