Tamiya Announces Development of New Tool Spitfire Mk. 1 Model Kit

Tamiya has announced the development of a new tool Spitfire Mk. 1 model kit in 1/48 scale.

The kit (61119) will reportedly include parts to recreate various specifications of the Mk. 1, open and closed canopy options, realistic cockpit detailing, photo-etched parts, seated pilot figure and three marking options.

Airfix Releases New Gloster Meteor FR.9 Model Kit

Airfix has released their new Gloster Meteor FR.9 model kit in 1/48 scale.

The FR.9 was based on the F.8 fighter variant and served as an armed reconnaissance machine, equipped with an elongated nose housing a Williamson F.24 camera as well as external wing and ventral fuel tanks for increased range.

The new kit (A09188) is reportedly based on the new tool F.8 kit (A09182) released in 2016 and comes with two livery options representing WL263 of 208 Squadron and WB116/G of 2 squadron.

First Look: Modelcollect’s Upcoming New Tool B-52H Model Kit

Modelcollect Hobby has released the first test build photos of their upcoming new tool B-52H model kit in 1/72 scale.

The kit (UA72200) will reportedly feature two detailed engine parts, detailed tail, 12 AGM-129 missiles and full interior details. As of this writing, a release date has not yet been announced.

Silver Wings To Release Limited Edition 1/32 Yak 9 Model Kit

Silver Wings has announced the upcoming release of a limited edition Yak 9 M/T resin model kit in 1/32 scale.

Details about the kit are currently scarce, although it will reportedly be available some time this month with pre-orders launching “soon.” The company states “Price will go together with the announcement and possibility of placing a pre-order. For this sort of kits it typically is around 130-140 EUR including shipping worldwide.”

Eduard to Release New Tool Fw 190A-8/R2 in Upcoming Limited Edition Kit

Eduard has announced the upcoming release of a Limited Edition Reichsverteidigung Dual Combo Fw 190 / Bf 109 model kit in 1/48 scale.

The offering (11119) consists of a brand new tool Fw 190A-8/R2 accompanied by Bf 109G-6/G-14 and will reportedly include pre-painted PE sets, painting mask and Cartograf-printed decals covering “six Sturmbocks from all Luftwaffe Reich Defense Sturmgruppen, and seven escorting Bf 109G.”

Dora Wings has announced the upcoming release of a “what if” version of the iconic Gee Bee racer as the Granville P-45B “Bee Killer.”

Airfix to Release 1/72 Handley Page Victor SR.2 / K.2

Airfix is preparing to release a new Handley Page Victor K.2 model kit in 1/72 scale.

The new kit will be the second incarnation of their Victor tooling, the first being a B.2 bomber version (A12008) equipped with an under-fuselage mounted “Blue Steel” nuclear missile. The upcoming release (A12009) will offer new parts to represent the SR.2 reconnaissance Victor, or one of the final aircraft to see RAF service, the K.2 tanker. It will reportedly boast three marking options, including XL231 “Lusty Lindy” of No.55 Squadron, XH669 Black Buck Raids/No.57 Squadron and XL193 Operation Attune/543 Squadron.

Tamiya Releases New 1/48 F-14D Tomcat Model Kit

Tamiya has released their new F-14D Tomcat model kit in 1/48 scale.

As previously reported, the kit (61118) appears to be based off the company’s new tool F-14A kit (61114) which was released in 2016. It is said to be a faithful reproduction of the machine and reportedly includes movable wings and a number of weapon/reconnaissance options, including laser and GPS-guided bombs and late stage air-to-air missiles, as well as lantern, jamming and reconnaissance camera pods. Three marking options are also said to be included, representing machines from VF-213 “Black Lions,” VF-101 “Grim Reapers” and VF-2 “Bounty Hunters.”

Eduard Releases New Tool Bf 109 G-10 Model Kit

Eduard has released their new tool ProfiPACK edition model kit of the Bf 109 G-10 in 1/48 scale.

The kit (82119) reportedly focuses on “aircraft produced by the Messerschmitt factory in Regensburg” and is said to include plastic parts, a painting mask, pre-painted PE parts and marking options representing W.Nr. 130282, flown by Hptm. Franz Wienhusen; W. Nr. 130297, flown by Fw. Horst Petzschler and W. Nr. 130342 of 5./ NJG 11. Liveries for 1./ KG(J) 6 and 13./ JG 27 machines are also included.
