Brengun has released their new tool SBD-3 Dauntless model kit in 1/144 scale.

Brengun Announces Upcoming SBD Dauntless Model Kit

Hauler – Brengun has announced the upcoming release of a new Douglas SBD Dauntless model kit in 1/144 scale.

The announcement was accompanied by the above image and “Vejtasa,” suggesting that the offering will include the livery of the machine flown by WW2 ace Swede Vejtasa, which operated from USS Yorktown during the Battle of the Coral Sea in 1942.

Pricing, kit contents and a potential release date have not yet been announced.

Brickmania Releases SBD-5 Dauntless LEGO Model Kit

Brickmania has released a new, limited edition SBD-5 Dauntless LEGO model kit.

The offering reportedly includes 595 “new-condition LEGO bricks,” two custom-printed minifigures, and retractable landing gear. The model is also said to include several of the type’s key components, such as dive brakes, rear-facing machine guns, three bombs and an arrestor hook.

Yankee Air Museum Welcomes Lake Michigan Dauntless, New Display Underway

Yankee Air Museum at Willow Run Airport in Belleville, Michigan has welcomed a new addition to its collection in the form of a Dauntless dive bomber.

Few details have been released, although the aircraft was reportedly salvaged from Lake Michigan in the 1990s and will become the centerpiece of a new exhibit that will see it displayed in the condition in which it was found.

Access to the Dauntless is said to be closed off to the public while the new exhibit is under construction. It is currently expected to open in October 2018.
