This Rare 1942 Stearman PT-17A Aircraft has never been flown in Civilian life and is the only one known to be registered by the FAA. The Fuselage is still assembled and in its original form! It is in excellent condition for restoration and has no signs that it was ever damaged in a accident. Looking to sell to a buyer that will agree to restore it to its original form, and as accurate to its historical form.

4500 TT, Continental W 670 220hp, 150 Since over haul with roller bearings. 2004 Aircraft was completely restored from the ground up. Avionics: Garmin SL40, Garmin GTX-327, Jasco Alternator 12 volt system. Aircraft was taxing and flipped over in dirt. The top wing need repairs (see pictures,blue tap is damage) NO damage to bottom wings or fuselage. Rudder and vertical have been done with all new covering. Included will be a new MT wood prop direct from MT ($6,000)

1942 N2S-3 Stearman Offered For Sale

A 1942 N2S-3 Stearman N62598 has hit the market.

The aircraft was reportedly converted and reconditioned from duster service in 1985 and is described as “extremely low time” and “a blast to fly.” The airframe is said to have a total time of 1,458 hrs while the R-985-14B engine has 464 hrs SMOH. The prop (Hamilton Standard 2D30 with 6101A blades) has 188 hrs since overhaul by Maxwell Propellers.

The machine reportedly features Redline brakes, ADC oil filter system, smoke system, custom Beech 18 cowling, original data plate, thorough maintenance records and complete logs dating back to the factory test flight, including Naval logs.
