Skyblazers F-86F For Sale With Newly Reduced Price

North American F-86F N86FR (S/N 31201) has been re-listed for sale with a newly reduced price.

The aircraft was manufactured in 1952 and delivered to FA Argentina as C-109 in 1960. It was recovered from Argentina and assembled in Coleman, TX in 1989, receiving its FAA airworthiness certificate the following year. It is now registered as N86FR and flown as USAF/SkyBlazers 31201 (FU-201).

The airframe reportedly has 4417.4 Hrs TTSNEW, while the GE J-47-GE-27 engine (5970 # Thrust) has 402 Hours SMOH. The machine includes an avionics package as well as two 120 gallon wing aux tanks, smoke system, strobe lights, vertical card compass, recent tires, excellent canopy glass and ELT. It is located at the Valiant Air Command Museum in Titusville, Florida and is now being offered for $250,000. Click here to check out the complete listing.

Mississippi F-86L Sabre Arrives at New Home, Restoration to Follow [Video]

On Tuesday, Chennault Aviation & Military Museum in Monroe, Louisiana welcomed a new arrival in the form of an F-86L Sabre.

The aircraft (S/N 53-01061) is said to have been acquired from a base in Crystal Springs, Mississippi by a local doctor many years back. He transported it to a VFW post along I-55 near Hazlehurst, Mississippi, where it has been on outdoor display since 1968. The post closed about a decade ago and the aircraft has since suffered from vandalism and continued exposure to the elements.

The museum reportedly went through a lengthy approval process in order to receive the Sabre and also launched coordination and fundraising efforts to relocate it. The machine will now be restored on museum grounds and displayed “on certified loan from the National Museum of the United States Air Force.”

The restoration will be performed by volunteers and is expected to take roughly a year and a half.

F-86F Sabre N86FR S/N 52-4959 has hit the market.

The aircraft was originally manufactured in 1952 and delivered to FA Argentina as C-109 in 1960. It was recovered and assembled in Coleman, Texas in 1989 and received its airworthiness certification a year later. The machine is currently flown as FU-201/S/N 31201.

The airframe has reportedly amassed 4417.4 total hrs, while the GE J-47-GE-2 engine has 402 hrs since major overhaul. The aircraft is equipped with two 120 gallon wing aux tanks, a smoke system, strobe lights, ELT, as well as an avionics package.
