1945 Goodyear FG-1D Corsair For Sale: “Damaged, All Parts Are There”

1945 Goodyear FG-1D Corsair B/N 92106 (C-GVWC) has been offered for sale.

The aircraft was built in 1945 by Goodyear and delivered to the US Navy, but did not see action in WWII. It was flown in the TV show “Black Sheep Squadron” from 1976-78 and later underwent a 13 year “concourse quality restoration” that earned the aircraft the Grand Champion Warbird – WWII trophy at EAA Airventure 2003. The machine is now offered in damaged condition. The listing states (in part):

Corsair 92106 flew regularly from 2003 until 2019 when it was heavily damaged in a landing accident in Canada. The aircraft was recovered and stored pending a decision on its fate. Recently the decision was made to offer the aircraft for sale “As Is, Where Is”.

Whilst the restoration of the Corsair will be a long and expensive proposition, all the parts are there. Many are in useable condition. An original FG-1D Corsair with continuing history is a sought after and highly desirable aircraft. Corsair 92106 presents a unique opportunity. This is the only complete and original FG-1D Corsair project which will be available for restoration in the foreseeable future.

Restored, Airworthy F-4U-5N Corsair Offered For Sale

A 1951 Chance Vought F-4U-5N Corsair (B/N 123168 / VH-III) is currently available for sale.

The machine was constructed in 1951 for the US Navy and was later delivered to the FA Hondurena in March 1956 as FAH603. In subsequent years, the aircraft passed through the hands of Hollywood Wings Inc. and the Disney Corporation, which gifted it to RNZAF Museum. Extremely Rare F4U-1 “Birdcage” Corsair Project Offered For Sale

An F4U-1 Vought Sikorsky “Birdcage” Corsair project has hit the market.

Described as one of the most rare and desirable warbird projects, the offering consists of two shipping containers full of parts, and includes the rear fuselage and inner wings/landing gears of BuNo 02608; the main spar and outer wings from 02270; all additional parts from the 02608 crash site; all of the additional parts from 02270 that weren’t incorporated in it’s restoration, and many templates from the restoration of 02270. Fully Restored 1944 Goodyear FG-1D Corsair Offered For Sale

1944 Goodyear FG-1D Corsair N11Y (S/N 67087) wearing the colors of VF-17 “Jolly Rogers” has hit the market. The listing states (in part):

Goodyear Corsair 67087 was built by Goodyear Aircraft Corporation in Akron, Ohio in 1944. In the 1960’s it was sold to the Fuerza Aérea Salvadoreña and was used as a spares ship. Returning to the United States in the 1980’s, it was completely restored by Antique Aero of Rialto (later Paso Robles) CA.

The airframe has reportedly amassed 330.4 hrs since restoration by Antique Aero, while the Pratt & Whitney R-2800 CB3 engine has 164.8 hrs SMOH by Precision Engines.

The aircraft is located in California and is currently being offered for $2,500,000. Click here and here to check out the complete listings.
