1946 Globe Swift “Outstanding Project” Offered For Sale

An “outstanding” 1946 Globe Swift project has hit the market. The listing states (in part):

It is complete except for the prop and Avionics/instruments. All sheet metal is in excellent shape with lots of it new!!… You will not find a better project to complete your dream of building and owning a Super Swift!! S/N 43. Converted to a “B” model in 1967. 917 hours total time on airframe. Have all logs, books, receipts, STCs, manuals, etc… Engine is a Continental C-125-2F. 318hours TTSN. 77hrs since last overhaul in 1981. Last run in ‘83. In dry storage since Complete firewall forward including fiberglass cowling. This was a flying airplane when the previous owner took it home for restoration. It needs someone to finish it up and bring it back to life!

A 1946 Aeronca 11 CC Super Chief (S/N 11CC-72 / N4170E) touted as “always hangared, fully restored in October 2014” and with “no accident history” is currently available for sale.

The airframe reportedly has 1,417 TT, while the Continental O200A engine has 4,644 TT (75 SMOH). Additional features include electric start, transponder and toe brakes. Restored, Korean War Veteran F4U-5NL Corsair Offered For Sale

1950 Chance Vought F4U-5NL D-FCOR (S/N 124541) is available for sale.

The -5 Series Corsairs were the first post-war model of the type, and have been described as the nicest of all to fly. Approximately six examples remain in airworthy condition today. This particular machine is a Korean War veteran that flew with VMF-513 “Flying Nightmares.” It was sold to the Argentine Navy after retirement from US service and served in the Argentine Armada with 2nd Esquadrilla de Ataque, being assigned to the Argentinian aircraft carrier Independencia. On 6 November 1964 it was involved in a landing accident and was subsequently retired.

The aircraft was stored in the Naval Museum (El Tigre) as a gateguard before being acquired by Max-Alpha Aviation GmbH in 2009. It was extensively flown throughout Europe during the 2010 season and then restored back to its original -5 configuration by Meier Motors. “Damaged, Cheap” 2006 American Legend AL3 Cub Airframe Offered For Sale

A “damaged, cheap” 2006 American Legend AL3 Cub airframe has hit the market. The aircraft is described as “not a kit or homebuilt aircraft” but a “fully factory engineered and built” machine which is “60 years newer than the newest ‘original’ Cub that it emulates.” The listing states (in part):

This airplane is damaged, as you can see, but not from crashing into the ground! It landed long at a grass runway and couldn’t stop rolling before hitting trees at the end of the runway… No paperwork issues, as is common with airplanes built in the 1940’s. Logbooks since brand new included! Annual just expired 6/1/2020, not a sitter! And the FAA bill of sale! And the FAA airworthiness certificate!

1947 Aeronca 11CC Super Chief With “Complete Logs, June Annual” Offered For Sale

According to the listing, the airframe has a TT of 1145, while the Continental C85 engine has 15 SMOH. It was reportedly recovered in 2016 using the Super Flite process and comes with “complete logs, June annual.”

Skyblazers F-86F For Sale With Newly Reduced Price

North American F-86F N86FR (S/N 31201) has been re-listed for sale with a newly reduced price.

The aircraft was manufactured in 1952 and delivered to FA Argentina as C-109 in 1960. It was recovered from Argentina and assembled in Coleman, TX in 1989, receiving its FAA airworthiness certificate the following year. It is now registered as N86FR and flown as USAF/SkyBlazers 31201 (FU-201).

The airframe reportedly has 4417.4 Hrs TTSNEW, while the GE J-47-GE-27 engine (5970 # Thrust) has 402 Hours SMOH. The machine includes an avionics package as well as two 120 gallon wing aux tanks, smoke system, strobe lights, vertical card compass, recent tires, excellent canopy glass and ELT. It is located at the Valiant Air Command Museum in Titusville, Florida and is now being offered for $250,000. Click here to check out the complete listing.

AZ Model Releases Two “Complete New Tool” DH 103 Hornet Model Kits

AZ Model has released the first two of their four “complete new tool” model kits of the DH.103 Hornet in 1/72 scale.

The two new releases represent the F.Mk.I (AZ7651), PR.Mk.2 (AZ7652) with each including three post-war livery options. The F.Mk.I kit features decals for PX 284 “Black H” of 65 Squadron; PX 275 “White GO-F” of Central Fighter Establishment and PX 216 “Black WA-TN,” the personal aircraft of Wing Commander W.A. “Tiny” Neale. The PR.Mk.2 kit offers options for PX 216 “White R” of CFS Handling Squadron; VA 964, used for crash barrier trials and VA 966 of CFS Handling Squadron. The kits appears to consist of grey and clear plastic parts.

F.Mk.3 (AZ7653) and FR.Mk.4 (AZ7654) kits are reportedly slated for future release.
