Airfix Announces Upcoming New Tool Spitfire Mk.Vc Kit

As part of their 2020 range of products, Airfix has announced the upcoming release of a new tool Spitfire Mk.Vc model kit in 1/72 scale.

The company states that this first release (A02108) will represent “aircraft equipped with the distinctive chin mounted Vokes air filter, which whilst reducing the top speed of the aircraft, allowed it to be operated more effectively in warmer and sand filled Mediterranean and desert climates.” Two livery profiles have also been posted for ER180 of 307 FS 31 FG and JL115 of 2 Squadron.

Wingsy Kits Shares Update on Upcoming New Tool Bf 109E

Wingsy Kits has shared a series of renderings detailing the design work on their upcoming new tool Bf 109E model kit in 1/48 scale.

As the project is still a work in progress, details such as liveries, box contents, pricing and an expected release date appear to be unreleased as of this writing.

Airfix Announces Upcoming Release of New Tool Bristol Beaufort

Airfix has announced the upcoming release of a new tool Bristol Beaufort Mk.1 in 1/72 scale.

As of this writing, details are scarce, although the kit (A04021) appears to have two liveries representing N1016 of 22 Squadron and L9866 of 217 Squadron. It is currently slated for release in the autumn.

Freewing to Release T-33 Shooting Star 80mm RC Model

Freewing and Motion RC have announced the upcoming release of a new 80mm (1/9.5 scale) T-33 Shooting Star PNP RC model in both USAF and German liveries.

The model is reportedly constructed from EPO foam, carbon, wood, aluminum, and other materials and is powered by an 80mm EDF power system “optimized for performance and easy flying behavior.” Additional features include light wing loading for “very stable flight and a mild gentle stall,” scale split flaps, removable tip tanks, robust aluminum trailing link suspension landing gear and “quick and easy screw together assembly.”

The models are available as ARF Plus (ARF + servos) or Receiver Ready. Release is expected somethime this month. Click below to check out a video overview.

Arma Hobby to Release Line of New Tool Grumman Wildcat Kits

Arma Hobby has announced that their first project for 2020 will be the release of new tool Grumman Wildcat model kits in 1/72 scale.

The offerings will reportedly be released in three boxings, including an FM-2 Wildcat Expert Set (70031), Wildcat Mk VI Model Kit (70032) and FM-2 Wildcat Model Kit (70033). The project will also continue into the F4F-4 Wildcat version at some point.

The Expert Set has an expected delivery time of February/March 2020, while the remaining two kits will reportedly be released early in the second quarter of 2020. Additional details regarding the kit contents and marking options are currently scarce, but will be “given soon.”

HpH Releases New Tool 1/48 B-52 Stratofortress Model Kit

HpH Models has announced the release of their new tool B-52 Stratorfortress model kit in a massive 1/48 scale.

The company states that the kit (HPH 48052L) has been finished and the first pre-orders are currently being dispatched:

There are about 60 pre-ordered kits right now and further pre-orders are being accepted. If you pre-order the kit right now, you will get to the pre-orders list once the deposit is paid. New pre-orders will be dispatched during March.

As previously reported, the offering is part of the company’s “extreme” line, which also includes a 1/48 B-36 Peacemaker. It reportedly includes fiberglass main assemblies, vacuum cast resin details and clear parts made of transparent resin. ICM Releases New Tool 1/32 Gloster Gladiator Mk.I Model Kit

ICM has released its highly anticipated new tool Gloster Gladiator Mk.I model kit in 1/32 scale.

The kit (32040) utilizes “100% new molds” and is described as ICM’s very first attempt to release a 1/32 plastic of the type into the market. It reportedly includes a highly detailed engine and cockpit interior as well as four marking options.

Airfix has released their new tool Mikoyan Gurevich MiG-17F model kit (A03091) in 1/72 scale.

The representation of the iconic cold war jet was reportedly produced utilizing scan data from a restored example of the type as well as research visits that allowed the team to check of specific details and capture many reference photos. The final product includes two marking options representing Vietnamese and Soviet aircraft.

Academy Releases New Tool F-14A Tomcat Model Kit

Academy has released its new tool F-14A Tomcat model kit in 1/72 scale.

The kit (12563) reportedly includes “accurately detailed cockpit and landing gears and precisely engraved panel lines and rivets,” as well as drop tanks and various air-to-air weaponry. Additional features include the option to build the wings at maximum or minimum sweep position and Cartograf decals representing US Navy’s VF-143 “Pukin Dogs.”

HK Models Releases New Tool B-17G (Early) Model Kit

Hong Kong Models has released its new tool B-17G Flying Fortress (Early Production) model kit in 1/48 scale.

As previously reported, the offering (01F001) is the manufacturer’s first kit in 1/48 scale and is described as easy to build with nice surface detail, sensible part engineering, beautiful markings and fantastic box art by Piotr Forkasiewicz.

It appears that marking options are included for two machines, including S/N 42-31353 “Queenie” of 322 BS/91 BG, and S/N 42-98008 “American Beauty” of 834 BS, 486 BG.
