Brickmania Releases 1/35 SR-71 Blackbird LEGO Model Kit

Brickmania has released a new, limited edition 1/35 Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird LEGO model kit.

The offering (BKM1050) measures 18.1″ wide and 36.6″ long and boasts 2660 LEGO elements, a high-quality sticker sheet, 12 custom printed elements, two custom minifigures and full-color building instructions. Additional features include functioning landing gear, a detailed cockpit, working flaps and ailerons and brick-built display stand.

First Look: Arma Hobby’s Upcoming New Tool Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIc

Arma Hobby has released the first test shots of their upcoming new tool Hawker Hurricane Mk IIc model kit in 1/72 scale.

As previously reported, its design is said to maintain the rear fuselage shape, wings and tailplane of the company’s previous Mk I kit, with the rest being “an entirely new project.” This includes a longer fuselage before the cockpit, new fishtail exhaust, a new carburetor inlet, a new (longer) tropical filter cover, two variants of cannon barrels, a modified one-piece propeller design, enhanced landing gear bays with improved assembly of the undercarriage legs, and more. It appears that two livery options will also be included.

The offering is described as “almost ready to release” and will reportedly be available in three versions, including an Expert Set (70035) Model Kit (70036) and a Trop Model Kit (70037). Click below to check out additional images.

Airfix Provides Update on New Tool Avro Vulcan Model Kit

Airfix has published an update on their upcoming new tool Avro Vulcan B.2 model kit in 1/72 scale.

As previously reported, the company announced the news at the recent Scale Modelworld 2019 event in Telford complete with a prototype model on display at their stand. The update includes video of the event and the prototype, as well as a new selection of CAD renderings which detail the “inherent rigidity” incorporated into the Vulcan’s construction, as well as the two ordnance options to be included with the first release.

For Sale: “Museum Quality, 85.5” Hanriot HD.1 RC Model

A “museum quality” Hanriot HD.1 RC model has been spotted for sale. The listing states:

R.C. Model Aircraft – Hanriot HD.1 Museum Quality Airplane. Condition is Used. Model was built from a Proctor Enterprise Duncan Hutson design kit. Wing span 85.5” Flying weight is 15.5 lbs. Engine – British made, laser 4 stroke 200 twin cylinder engine. Stitts fabrics and paint. Great care was taken to build this model to exact scale and marking to match the full scale aircraft.

For Sale: Used Custom Fokker D.VII, 1/3 Morane-Saulnier A-1 RC Models

“Custom BALSA USA” Fokker D.VII and 1/3 Morane-Saulnier A-1 RC models have been spotted for sale.

According to the listings, the D.VII has an an 86″ span, sectional wing for easy storage and a 50cc gas r/c engine. Additional features include bungee gear and fabric covering. It is described as great flying and handling.

The 1/3 Morane reportedly offers a 103″ span, 68″ fuselage and 12″ spun aluminum cowl. It is described as an easy flying and landing airplane offering scale aluminum front covering, silver fabric and new G62 gas engine power.

Both models are located in Canton, Michigan. The D.VII is currently being offered for US $1,550, while the Morane carries a price of US $2,600. Offers are also being accepted on each.

Eduard to Release Royal Class Dual Combo P-51D Mustang Kit

Eduard has announced the upcoming release of a Royal Class edition P-51D/K Mustang kit in 1/48 scale.

The Dual Combo style offering (R0020) will reportedly contain sprues for two complete models and a marking options for 14 aircraft, including D-5, D-10, D-15, D-20 and D-25 production blocks as well as the Mustang Mk.IV. Additional features include Eduard sprues, pre-painted PE parts, a painting mask, resin parts (undercarriage wheels (2 sets), 2 types of exhaust stacks), and 1/48 scale PSP display.

Flite Test Releases 1460mm P-38 Speed Build Electric Flying Model

Flite Test released a new, 57.5″ (1460 mm) speed build P-38 Lightning electric airplane kit that is described as “one of the most advanced Speed Build Kits you can build.”

The model reportedly offers a level of scale detail that has never been seen before on a Flite Test aircraft. It is further touted as carrying graceful lines in the air while tracking true, and is “a walk in the park for intermediate to advanced pilots.”

Airfix Announces Upcoming New Tool Avro Vulcan Model Kit

At the recent Scale Modelworld 2019 event in Telford, Airfix announced the development of a new tool Avro Vulcan B.2 model kit in 1/72 scale.

Although the project is relatively early in development, Airfix had a prototype model on display at their stand which reportedly represents a “significant investment for the company” and “a fascinating and rather expensive stage in the production of this magnificent new tooling.”

So far, a number of CAD renderings have been released, including an exploded part view, as well as images of the prototype model. The kit is currently slated for release in November 2020. Lukgraph to Release New, Full Resin 1/32 Sopwith Baby Model Kit

Lukgraph has announced the upcoming release of a new Sopwith Baby model kit in 1/32 scale.

The offering will reportedly be a full resin kit released in four boxed versions representing aircraft in British, French and Italian service, as well as a captured German machine complete with wooden trolley. Livery details are as follows:

In total there will be 9 paintings in 4 boxes.

32-22 3 x British schemes
32-23 2 x Italian schemes
32-24 1 x French + 2 x Norwegian schemes
32-25 1 x German scheme (captured plane)

The sets will also contain masks, photo-etched parts and bombs / Clerget 9B and Le Rhone type J engines printed directly with 3D technology. It is hoped that the kit will be ready for a December release. Click below to check out decal sheets as well as additional renderings and details.

HpH to Release Massive 1/32 B-52 Cockpit Section Model Kit

HpH Models has announced the upcoming release of a massive 1/32 B-52 Stratofortress cockpit section model kit.

The new offering will reportedly be priced at 150 Euro, although this will drop to 120 Euro when ordered together with the upcoming B-52 1/48 scale kit. The company notes that the new 1/32 scale cockpit section kit consists basically of enlarged parts from the fully detailed cockpit included with the full 1/48 offering.
