This 1943 North American SNJ-5 has been hangared for 25 years in a dry high-mountain desert environment and maintained to exceptional standards. The airframe totals 5,370.3 hours and is powered by a Pratt & Whitney R-1340 AN-1 with 540.4 hours TTSMO. The Hamilton Standard 12D40 propeller has only 15.2 hours since overhaul. Equipped with Red Line wheels and brakes, P-51-style lockable tailwheel, and a smoke system, this SNJ-5 is a solid, flyable warbird ideal for formation flying, airshows, and collectors.

Large Lot of Standard J-1 Fuselage Parts Offered For Sale

A Standard J-1 fuselage parts lot has been spotted for sale. The listing states (in part):

This is a large lot of parts for a 1918 Standard J-1 biplane. It looks like nearly all of the brackets and tensioning wires for the fuselage. The nose plate/frame is not there. The majority of the brackets are in good condition. The vertical tail, seat and landing gear legs should be good for patterns or as relics to display. It looks like most of the control system is there including the control sticks. It does not include any wing parts.

Center section rebuilt with new lower skin and inspection panel kit for AD compliance. Looks like some of the fuselage skins may have been changed also. Very clean and straight. Ready to start assembling. Logs are available. This airplane has been de-registered.

Original, Restored de Havilland DH.9 Offered For Sale

A major piece of aviation history is currently for sale with the offering of de Havilland DH.9 E8894/G-CDLI.

E-8894, now registered G-CDLI, was restored to flying condition with an original engine, making it the only First World War bomber currently capable of flight and the sole flying example from the Imperial Gift Scheme. Its counterpart, D-5649, was restored to a non-flying, conserved condition and is now displayed in the Imperial War Museum’s Airspace hangar. Both restorations were completed to the highest standards in the Retrotec workshops in East Sussex. The restoration of E-8894, completed in late 2018, ensures this remarkable aircraft’s place in aviation history as a genuine flying relic of the First World War and a testament to Aero Vintage’s dedication to preserving aviation heritage.

The airframe and Siddeley-Deasy Puma 200 BHP engine each have 25.0 Hrs SMOH by Aero Vintage Ltd. The aircraft is currently being offered for GBP£1,600,000. Click here to check out the full listing, which includes additional photos and details.
