“Very Complete” Fisher R-80 Tiger Moth Project Offered For Sale

An 80% scale Fisher R-80 Tiger Moth project has hit the market. The listing states (in part):

This is an 80% Tiger Moth manufactured by Fisher Flying Projects. N8CXI purchased the plane as you see it with the expectation to get it back in the air. Due to health, I will not be completing the project The previous owner removed the C-90 engine to put on another project and I purchased the plane. It was manufactured in 2005 and last flew two years ago. It is complete with the exception of the nose bowl and the lower portion of the bowl, they were damaged when removed from the plane, I do have the pieces. It is set for a C-90 engine, I have a manifold for that engine, muffler had prop hub. As you can see for the photos it is a very complete aircraft, radio, transponder, full gauges. It is currently registered, and I do have the aircraft log along with some photos of the construction. I also have the directions from Fisher on a CD.

First Look: Liveries, Contents For Arma’s Upcoming Wildcat VI Kit

Arma Hobby is gearing up to release the second in their series of three new Wildcat model kits in 1/72 scale.

The new Wildcat VI (70032) will follow the recent release of Arma’s FM-2 Wildcat “Expert Set” and include two livery options representing JV699/J-F, HMS Trumpeter late 1944, and JV884/B1-C ex S-C, 882 Dywizjon FAA, Sub.Lt, Frearson, HMS Searcher, August 1945, Indian Ocean.

1941 Fairchild PT-19, “One of the Finest In Existence” Offered For Sale

A 1941 Fairchild M62A PT-19 has hit the market. The listing states (in part):

…meticulously maintained and cared for. Historically speaking, this aircraft was on the assembly line, at the Fairchild Plant, when the United States entered World War II, December 08, 1941. The Aircraft was delivered to the U.S. Army Air Corps, Bonham Field, Texas, 302d Squadron, late December 1941, for use as a primary flight trainer. An absolute pleasure to fly! Ranger 200HP inverted 6 cylinder engine with great cylinder compression, operates flawlessly. Designed with a wide main gear stance to reduce the possibility of ground loop. Very easy to land and control on the ground, with rudder controlled tail wheel.

A complete set of logs dating from civilian release September 04, 1945, are included. No damage history. As of June 23, 2020, TTAF 3751 SMOH 215.5. Mark Denest restoration 2001, with restoration photo album.

ICM has released their new B-26C-50 model kit in 1/48 scale.

As previously reported, the kit (48284) reportedly includes highly detailed engines, armament and cockpit interior as well as marking options for three aircraft.

Dual Control TF-51D With Spare, “Zero Time” Engine Offered For Sale

North American TF-51D N327DB (S/N 44-84860) has hit the market.

The airframe reportedly has 2841 hrs total time (1841 hrs since restoration) while the Packard V-1650-7 engine (with 500 Series Heads and Banks / Carbide fingers installed) has 26 hrs since overhaul by Mike Barrow.

The machine reportedly features an avionics package, dual cockpit controls with instruments and throttle / prop controls, Hooker harness, high pressure oxygen (both seats), newer style panel with 3″ gyros, etc. A lengthy list of spares is also included, including a zero time Packard V-1650-7 engine with 500 series Heads and Banks (transport) / carbide fingers, set of main landing gear parts, three main wheels, tailwheel and tire, right wing tip / extension panel and misc boxes of small parts.

First Look: Sprues For Sword’s Upcoming Grumman Avenger Kits

Sword Models has released sprue images for their upcoming Grumman Avenger kits in 1/72 scale.

The kits will reportedly represent Avenger AS.4 (SW72130), TBM-3S2 Avenger (SW72131) and TBM-3R (SW72132). As previously reported, details are limited, although the offerings are slated for release sometime at the end of June.

Revell Releases New, “Highly Detailed” 1/48 B-25D Model Kit

Revell has released a new boxing of their B-25D Mitchell model kit in 1/48 scale.

The “highly detailed, Level 5” offering (04977) reportedly includes a detailed interior and engines, bomb loading, and livery options representing two B-25D machines from 345 Bomb Group.

“Complete, Excellent Restorable Condition” F-84G Thunderjet Project Offered For Sale

A complete F-84G Thunderjet project (S/N 10534 / N6599N) has hit the market.

The machine is currently registered with FAA and has reportedly been X-Rayed and found to be “in excellent restorable condition.”

…this aircraft will be a basic restoration without the need for any costly rebuilding. Just rebuild systems and reassemble. Exclusive opportunities and airshows certainly await.

The machine includes an installed Allison J-35 engine (without logbooks) and “numerous spare and new parts collected over 10 years.” The project is currently being offered for $129,000 or will package with two F9F Panther projects for $239,00 (or near offer). MENG Announces Upcoming Release of New 1/32 Fokker F.1 / Dr.1 Model Kit

MENG has announced the upcoming release of a new Fokker F.1/Dr.1 model kit in 1/32 scale.

The offering (QS-002) is described as “a carefully studied, large scale” model kit “with precise details,” boasting “accurate exteriors, wing structure and realistic fabric covering.” Additional features reportedly include “completely replicated” cockpit interior and engine construction, PE cooling jackets and sights for the machine guns.

Three build options are included, allowing a representation of the Fokker F.1, Dr.1 (Early Production) or Dr.1 (Late Production). The rudder and ailerons can also be installed at selected angles. As for livery options, it has only been reported that von Richthofen’s machine is included.

According to Scalemates, the model is a rebox of Wingnut Wings’ new tool F.1/Dr.1 offering which, as of this writing, is listed as “in development.” The MENG kit will reportedly be available “soon.” Click below to check out additional images.
