Lockheed P2V Neptune Cockpit Section Offered For Sale

The cockpit section of a cold war-era Lockheed P2V Neptune maritime patrol and anti-submarine warfare aircraft has hit the market.

Details on the section are limited, although it is described as “for parts or not working” and reportedly includes “a very large compliment of the original instruments.” As seen in the photo, windows are covered with a protective spraylat coating.

MiG-17F Project Offered For Sale

A “beautiful example” of a 1959 MiG-17F has hit the market. The listing states (in part):

This airplane was built in Poland as a LIM 5 with afterburner. Serial number 1C1423. The aircraft has nice paint and is in original unmodified condition. Sale includes the airframe, VK1F afterburner engine, logbooks and towbar. The aircraft served with the Polish airforce 34th PLM at Gdynia. It was imported to the USA in 1993. It is not currently registered with the FAA and is not certified. The airplane is not currently airworthy. The aircraft had some water damage in the cockpit that would need restoration before preparing for certification. Additionally some elevator repair needed. Engine turns freely but was not started.

Brickmania Releases 1/35 F-22 Raptor LEGO Model Kit

Brickmania has released a new, limited edition 1/35 Lockheed F-22 Raptor LEGO model kit.

The offering (BKM8005) consists of 1528 LEGO elements, a high-quality sticker sheet, printed elements, custom F-22 pilot minifigure and full-color building instructions. Additional features include working landing gear, posable flaps, elevators, and thrust vectoring nozzles, as well as a detailed cockpit, arresting hook and Gatling gun door. Also included are three opening missile bays and a combat load out that includes two Sidewinders and two AMRAAM missiles, as well as a brick-built display stand.

“Restored, Ready to Fly” Bell UH-1B Offered For Sale

A 1963 Bell UH-1B (S/N 62-2084 / N832M) described as “restored” and “ready [to] fly on the airshow circuit” has hit the market.

The airframe reportedly has 10,463.6 TTSN, while the T-53-11D engine has 3039.5 TTSN / 1105.5 SMOH. The blades are listing as having amassed 2365.6 and 22,374.5 TSN. The machine is painted in USN markings with “excellent condition” interior restored to stock.

Boeing YL-15 Scout N4770C is currently available for sale. The listing states (in part):

The last one of 12 L-15s, built Mar.8,1949 at Boeing Wichita, KS. This is the only airworthy example of the remaining 7. N4770C was awarded Grand Champion Warbird Post WW II, at Airventure 2017. I received the Gold Wrench Award for the Restoration. Included with the sale of 70C is a 2nd wrecked YL-15, S/N 47-423, lots of new old stock spare parts, the Restricted Aircraft Type Certificate (transferable) & approx 3000 digitized blueprints. Boeing’s last piston, prop, man carrying design. Built for observation, liaison, & forward air control. Family owned since Feb.1954. All trades considered.

E-Flite to Release F-18 Hornet 80mm PNP / BNF RC Model

E-Flite has announced the upcoming release of an F-18 Hornet 80mm EDF RC model.

The product is touted as offering “an all-new design with the size, scale details, functional features and performance to deliver an unmatched flying experience.” Equipped with 6S LiPo power, its V2 12-blade 80mm fan, high-RPM brushless inrunner motor and 100A ESC “deliver fantastic performance with virtually instantaneous throttle response.”

AMK Developing New Tool F-104G Starfighter Kit, Including Version With “Full Internal Structures”

Avantgarde Model Kits has announced the development of a new tool F-104G Starfighter model kit in 1/48 scale.

The offering (88038) is reportedly being developed in cooperation with Military Modeling Club Taiwan with the design concept including:

1. As AMK weapons, all slide molded weapons. 2. Single piece slide molded fuselages. NOT one, but TWO. Clicking 2 single piece fuselages into wings to have the main shape the aircraft will be challenge to our designing skill. Hope we can make it! 3. In addition to normal version, we will have another version with FULL INTERNAL STRUCTURES. 4. Same as other AMK kits, DEATILS will be as much as we can do.

The company states that development will probably take 1-2 years. A tentative release date has not been set.

Airfix Releases New Tool Blackburn Buccaneer Model Kit

Airfix has released its new tool Blackburn Buccaneer S Mk.2 model kit (A06021) in 1/72 scale.

Described as “one of the world’s most accomplished low level strike jets,” the Buccaneer was on the company’s most requested list for some time, and the resulting kit is touted as “a highly accurate scale representation of this famous aircraft.”

The offering reportedly includes parts to model the aircraft with its wings extended for flight or raised for carrier stowage. Two livery options are also included representing XV336 of 800 Naval Air Squadron (HMS Eagle) and XV154 of 809 Naval Air Squadron (HMS Ark Royal)
