A 1946 Taylorcraft BC-12D1, described as “cute, cheap, recently flown” has been spotted for sale. The listing states (in part):

This aircraft has some desirable modifications, including: Header tank and 2 wing tanks for extended flight times; Dual heel brakes (quite rare) so the pilot can easily fly from either side (or use for tailwheel training); Scott tailwheel; Stits PolyFiber fabric; New slick mags in 2009; New sealed struts in 2009 as well!… The paperwork for this airplane includes logbooks from 1973 to the present for the airframe, from 1980 to the present on the engine. And lots of supporting paperwork, including 337s, weight and balance, AD compliance sheets and the owners manual! And the FAA bill of sale, and the FAA airworthiness certificate, and even the keys!

The aircraft reportedly has 2899 TT / 917 SMOH, while the The A-65-8 engine has 917 hrs SMOH and 377 since top overhaul on all 4 cylinders. Ercoupe 415C, 1946, not an LSA, no ADS-B in or out, fresh May annual, all AD’s completed, no corrosion issues, plane is all aluminum, no fabric wings. TT 2265 TTSOH 920. many newer mod’s like nose tank removed, electric fuel pump, light weight Sky-Tec starter, alternator, not generator, overhauled pressurized carburetor and recondition prop (re-pitched and balanced) carb temp gauge, amp gauge, suction gauge, nice panel, KX 155 with VOR Head with Glide Slope, KT 78A transponder, intercom, push to talk on both yokes. Hawker Sea Fury FB11 For Sale: “Airframe Very Complete, Under Restoration”

A 1950 Hawker Sea Fury FB11 has hit the market. The machine has been under restoration by Pacific Fighters of Idaho Falls, ID and the airframe is described as “very complete.” It is powered by a Wright R-3350-26W overhauled by N.A.S. Alameda.

Restoration work completed: R-3350 Engine Conversion; Rear jump seat conversion – by Sanders Aircraft Technologies; Fuselage restored; Tailcone restored; Wings – rebuild 90% completed; Landing gear rebuilt; F-102 Wheels and Brakes; Gear doors – need reskinning; Many parts are either new or overhauled to 0 time condition. History: Hawker Sea Fury WN???, construction number 41H/656822 was built as a Mk II for the Royal Navy. Its service history in the Royal Navy isn’t known at this time. In the 1950’s it was part of the sale to Iraq and became one of the Baghdad Fury’s. This Sea Fury was recovered from the Iraqi dessert by Ed Jurist and David Tallichet in 1979.

The buyer can choose to have the Sea Fury completed by Pacific Fighters or move the project and complete at the shop of their choosing. It is currently available for $630,000. Click here to check out the complete listing.

First Look: Tamiya’s New Tool F-4B Phantom II Model Kit

Tamiya has released a flood of new details about their upcoming new tool F-4B Phantom II model kit, including a video overview of the kit’s contents and a release timeframe.

The 1/48 offering (61121) is reportedly based on “exhaustive studies of the actual aircraft” resulting in a “precise recreation of the distinctive form.”

The parts breakdown offers ease of assembly. J79-GE-8 engine nozzles, cockpit, and landing gear bays are realistically recreated. Choose between folded and extended wingtips. One-piece horizontal stabilizer right and left sides move in concert. Choose between open and closed canopy, and extended and retracted refueling probe/boarding ladder. Different types of antennae and cockpit consoles can be chosen depending on the marking option selected. Air-to-air missiles (AIM-7E Sparrow and AIM-9G/H Sidewinder) and two types of drop tanks are included. Includes 2 sitting crew figures, 3 marking options, and masking stickers.

Marking options represent VF-51 “Screaming Eagles,” VF-111 “Sundowners” and VF-161 “Chargers” (Wing Commander’s Aircraft). The kit is currently due out in June. Click below to check out additional images as well as a newly released video overview of the kit.

A 1946 Luscombe 8A “refurbished project airframe” has been spotted for sale. The listing states (in part):

Metal fuselage, tail feathers and ailerons, with fabric covered wings with metal spars. This aircraft has several very desireable mods: The fuselage tank has been remved and replaced with 12.5 gallon tanks in each wing. Paperwork has been filed and accepted for a 100 h.p. 0-200 engine conversion ( engine not included here). Cleveland wheels and disc brakes have been fitted. Shoulder harnesses have been fitted. All of the paperwork is in excellent condition and the logbooks are complete from day 1 to the last annual in september of 2008… The airframe is undamaged!… This is a ready to finish up and paint project, not a time intensive job.

Roden Releases New B-36D/F/H/J Peacemaker Model Kit

Roden has released a new Convair B-36D/F/H/J Peacemaker model kit in 1/144 scale.

The offering (337) is reportedly based on the company’s new tool B-36B kit released last year.

The main difference was the installation of four additional General Electric J-47 jet engines with a thrust of 5,200 lbf each (23kN), which significantly improved basic characteristics such as speed and range.

Pretty and clean 1948 Cessna 170. 5685 TT 1710 SMOH. Wings and fuselage were completely stripped of multiple layers of aged paint and old fabric, cleaned up as needed, and then new fabric and paint completed in 2018. While doing all the work on the outside we added new interior panels, carpets, headliner, and seats. KX 155 Nav/Comm, Narco AT 50A Transponder, Uavonix Skybeacon ADS-B. Mods include: PPonk gear box with C-180 legs finished with Alaska Bushwheels wheels and brakes and 8.00 tires. VG’s, Spin-on oil filter with quick drain oil sump, new engine driven fuel pump. Added inline fuel tank on pilot side bringing total fuel from 35 on the original 170 up to 46 total gallons. New glass all around including 1 piece windshield. Auto fuel STC. Compressions at annual Dec ’20: 78/78/78/74/74/78. This plane has been my baby for nearly 15 years, and I am sad to sell but getting something bigger for bigger family use. Will deliver anywhere in North America for the cost of fuel and return ticket. Can also provide endorsement for tailwheel transition for a pilot who is a current and capable flyer.
