Military Aviation Museum Founder Details Search to Save Classic Warbirds in New Book

The Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach, Virginia is the largest private collection of vintage warplanes in the US. Now its founder, Jerry Yagen, is sharing details on his effort to save classic warbirds with his new book, Bravo Zulu.

Bravo Zulu is an account of this brainchild of celebrated collector Jerry Yagen and his wife Elaine. These pages recall some of the most exciting war stories ever told and some of the most famous airplanes of all time—from Replica Fokker Dr. I triplanes built to resemble those flown by the Red Baron to painstakingly restored original combat veteran aircraft like the Messerschmitt Bf 109 and Supermarine Spitfire the collection includes many of the most iconic historic aircraft.

Bravo Zulu was created to bring the stories that surround this incredible collection to life, beautifully illustrated with images of the Museum aircraft in flight, this book is the perfect way to experience the collection if you cannot visit the museum. Bravo Zulu recalls the tales of the tireless searches for and restorations of each remarkable plane, which the Yagens dedicated themselves to collecting and sharing with the world.

The 200 page hardcover book is currently available for pre-order with release slated for this fall.

Garmin GPS/Com GNC250, Garmin Transponder GTX 327, Hard wired intercom and phone jacks… Heel brakes. Burns no oil. Coming up on 500 hours SMOH. McCauley cruise prop. Does 110 mph. Grandfathered in….. no ADSB required!! Daily flyer and conversation piece… Fresh annual. Battery and trickle charger installed and good for 7 hours. However, I have a wind generator just not installed yet. Many new parts I have that can be installed when needed. I buy them when available. Oil change every 20 hours. Quick drain.

Serial # 2565, N71138. Early 46 model, built in Dallas TX. Was built as an A model and converted to an E for Continental C85. Logs since 1958 (Have FAA CD of records from day one) -1852 TTSN Last flight was in 77. Current registration and A/W- Straight forward w/o damage. Ragwing. Wings were signed off at one time for recovering. Two 12 gallon wing tanks. Maule tail wheel. Good ailerons, horiz & vert stab, elev, & round rudder. Also a set of spare wings that are incomplete but a lots of great parts. Windscreen, wheel fairings, pedal assy, and cushions. Nose bowl, cowl and dish pan. New door frames. Has a good set of post war wing struts as well. Wing sleeves for recover (preference would be Ceconite myself) Very complete airframe.

1948 Ryan Navion, 3600 TT, 92 SMOH E-225, beautiful in and out, needs wing, cheap!… The engine was given a major overhaul in 2001, with brand new cyinders and a brand new camshaft, as well as everything else being overhauled!… The Hartzell constant speed prop was disassembled and inspected in 2018 and has only 3 hours on it, because of the “incident”. On approach to land into his home strip, the pilot, who is older than the airplane, misjudged the sink rate and the airplane hit treetops on it’s way to a successful wheels landing. The damage was to the wing outer panels, the nosebowl, 1 blade of the prop, and a tweak to the bottom cowl and a ding to the top cowl… Sold with logbooks for the engine since before the 2001 major, for the airframe since 1991 and for the prop since the 1991 and FAA bill of sale
