An original factory 1931 Great Lakes 2T-1A, Serial No. 250, with 2,929 total hours and only about 10 hours since major overhaul on its Continental O-300B engine. Equipped with Millennium cylinders, 4-aileron conversion, Poly Fiber covering, Cleveland wheels and toe brakes. Avionics include a King KY-97A comm and King KT-76A transponder with intercom. Aircraft has a strong history with trophies and correspondence from Frank Price and Harold Krier. Fresh annual included. Always hangared in a heated facility and meticulously maintained—an excellent flying vintage aircraft.

Before he purchased the airplane it had a runway incursion in 2016 as it ran off runway into a drainage ditch causing damage to right gear wing tips and fuselage. All repairs were made by an IA – A&P mechanic and was completed be fore he purchased. He has owned it for several years and has decided to sale the airplane. Annual for the new owner will be done before sale. TT engine and airframe is approximately 350 hours since new .

1938 Taylorcraft BC Airframe Project For Sale

A 1938 Taylorcraft BC project has been spotted for sale. The listing states (in part):

A great restoration project, already started. This 2 place, high wing pre War version of the Popular Taylorcraft series. Wings have been removed and fabric removed to facilitate restoration. A few of the outboard metal ribs show corrosion damage and replacements have been purchased and included. There are also several hinges and brackets and linkage that has been purchased, just in case needed. There are more than you will need to make necessary rib repairs. The tail flying surfaces have been removed, fabric removed and the parts bead blasted. Most have been primed? The very dark interior picture is only to show that the fuselage structure had been chromated and appears in good shape. No fabric has been removed from the fuselage. Included with this great project is the engine Mount and more importantly the engine exhaust tubes and the valuable muffler. There is no Motor or Propeller. The interior is complete with bench seat and dual control wheels. The instrument panel is complete. The cabin side windows and windscreen show their age and likely would have to be replaced. All are either flat stock or available from aircraft parts manufacturers. There are 2 log books showing 1619 TTAF. Last Annual was 1988. The project is currently registered and has an Airworthiness Certificate.

1957 De Havilland DH82A Tiger Moth (Jackaroo) For Sale: “Restored, Always Hangared”

A 1957 de Havilland DH82A Tiger Moth (Jackaroo) has been spotted for sale. The listing states (in part):

For sale, Thruxton Jackaroo, registration G-AOEX, which is the ‘Series 1’ prototype from a modified DH82A Tiger Moth. The Jackaroo was developed at Thruxton aerodrome in Hampshire to create a four-seat cabin biplane, using war surplus Tiger Moth air frames. Two prototypes were built at Thruxton in 1956; G-AOEX was finished as a standard four-seater with cabin and known as a Series 1. It was test flown by Lt-Cdr Pat Shea-Simonds on March 2, 1957. Following the flight of the first prototype in March 1957, a total of nineteen aircraft were converted, three for use as crop sprayers”. G-AOEX is 1 of only 5 that are airworthy today. Restoration was complete December 22, will come with a new ‘Permit to Fly’ issued by the LAA and very low flying hours since restoration complete. Formally owned and operated by the Wiltshire School of Flying, still in WSF red and silver colours. Aircraft has always been hangered during ownership (since 1985)

Aero Graphics Velie Monocoupe 113 Build Log: 24.5″ Span [Video]

The latest video build log from DX Modelworks focuses on Aero Graphics’ 24.5″ span Velie Monocoupe 113.

The kit is based on plans designed by David Deadman and is a beautiful representation of this 1928 design. This particular build sees the model built for three-channel RC with an array of modifications, including custom 3D printed components. The video concisely details the project, and like the channel’s previous videos, its photo documentation and tips will likely be helpful to both new and experienced modelers alike.
