A 1939 Piper J-3 Cub project has been spotted for sale. The listing states:

TTAF2350, C90 SMOH 315, was ground looped into a snowbank, wood prop strike, crank measures .0001 runout, right wing leading edge spar broke, but can be spliced, some rib & tip damage, aileron OK, left wing aileron and attachment point damaged, fuselage skylight broken & tube bent, the rest of the fuselage appears OK along with motor mounts, firewall, exhaust and landing gear (grove brake conversion). Plane recovered and restored 2005 with new wing spars, ribs, leading edge, fuel tank, pulleys, cables & fairleads. New front & rear seats, new windshield, overhauled engine and new propeller, Marvel carb., new spring loaded sealing push rod tubes, Airtech covering process with Ceconite.

Aeroplane Heaven Makes FSX/P3D Aircraft Available As Freeware

With the release of the new Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) in 2020, Flight Simulation developer Aeroplane Heaven has announced that they have made the decision to halt all development for FSX and P3D and make their FSX/P3D products FREE to download.

The selection includes a number of legendary warbirds such as the B-17, C-47, Grumman F3F-2, Heinkel HE-111, Hawker Hurricane and Typhoon, SB2C Helldiver and Bristol Bulldog. The developer has arranged for ORBX to carry the free titles exclusively, and they are currently available from the Freeware section of their website.

Airfix Announces New Tool 1/48 Avro Anson Mk.I

Another new tool model to be released as part of Airfix’s 2022 range is this Avro Anson Mk.I in 1/48 scale.

The offering (A09191) will reportedly be available in three schemes and will include a choice of early “blistered” or late smooth engine cowlings, optional sloped and upright windscreen and side glazing parts, finely represented fabric and plywood textures on fuselage and wings and a fully detailed interior with structural framework and all crew stations. The model can also be built with or without the upper gun turret and nose gun.

For Sale: 1931 Waco QCF-2 “Ground Up Rebuild/Restoration in 2006”

1931 Waco QCF-2 S/N 3487 (N11247) is available for sale.

An original QCF-2 that underwent a ground up rebuild/restoration in 2006 at 1037 TTAF. Complete with a Continental W670 220hp engine and Curtiss Reid propeller this F-2 is without a doubt the most strikingly detailed and functional classic Waco available today.

The airframe has 1150 TTSN (115 Hrs. since restoration), while the Continental W-670-6A engine has 115 hrs SMOH. The Curtiss Reed Model 55501-S propeller has 115 SPOH. The machine includes an avionics package and boasts a number of additional features, such as “black leather seats (excellent condition), front and rear cockpit Hooker Harness four point seat belt/dual “Y” type shoulder harness, front and rear stick mounted Push to Talk switches, front and rear cockpit covers, dual toe brakes, Jasco alternator, Cleveland wheels and brakes and RR Russ tail wheel.”
